Ubuntu PVR add-ons

PVR client add-ons are binary add-ons, but in Ubuntu they are not packaged with Kodi. All other official Kodi versions have these add-ons included with the default install. For Ubuntu, they must be installed through apt-get.

If you don’t already have the Team Kodi (team-xbmc) PPA added, then you will need to do so in order to install the PVR client add-ons. See. Install Kodi for Linux

1 Downloading Packages

1. Quit Kodi if it is already running
2. Open a terminal window
3. Type in sudo apt-get update and enter your password when prompted
4. Type in sudo apt-get install PACKAGENAMEHERE Replace PACKAGENAMEHERE with a package name from the table below. example: sudo apt-get install kodi-pvr-argustv
5. Restart Kodi to load the add-on

The PVR client add-on should now be installed.

2 Activating Add-on

Once the package is installed it is not automatically enabled. To enable the PVR add-on:

1. Go to Settings > Add-ons > My Add-ons > PVR Clients
2. Open the Information page for the PVR add-on
3. Select Enable
4. From this page, you can also adjust the add-on settings using the configure button

Всем привет! Недавно мы с вами настроили онлайн кинотеатр на своем Kodi. Теперь настало время подключить IPTV!

Для начала пару слов об IPTV. Все мы помним, как еще относительно недавно все дома были усеяны эфирными антеннами, на смену которым пришли спутниковые тарелки. С тарелками у нас появилось уже множество каналов, включая зарубежные. Но, технологии не стоят на месте 😉 Следующий шаг развития телевидения — IPTV.

IPTV (англ. Internet Protocol Television) — технология (стандарт) цифрового телевидения в сетях передачи данных по протоколу IP, используемая операторами цифрового телевидения, новое поколение телевидения. Отличительной особенностью IPTV стала возможность просмотра телепрограмм практически с любого устройства: планшет, смартфон, ноутбук и т.д., независимо от местоположения.

Для начала нам понадобится плейлист. Скажу сразу, что совсем бесплатного адекватного плейлиста мне найти не удалось. Или какие-то невнятные каналы, или жутко тормозные серверы, фризы видео, отсутствие каналов в этих листах… Или всё вместе.
Но выход есть. Можно найти несколько сервисов, которые предоставляют вполне приемлемое качество за символическую плату. Я остановился на ILookTV (бывший EDEM TV). Все плюшки и настройки этого сервиса я опишу в отдельной статье. Но процесс настройки IPTV на Kodi буду рассматривать именно на его примере.

Достаточно лирики, приступим скорее к настройке. Идем по ссылке на ILookTV и проходим простенькую регистрацию. Для начала можете воспользоваться пробным периодом в течении суток или сразу оплатить пакет — всего 1$ в месяц.
После активации пакета переходите в раздел «Плейлист — Скачать» и копируете ссылку на плейлист. Выглядит это так:

Всё, плейлист у нас есть! Переходим к настройке IPTV на Kodi.

В главном меню Kodi идем в раздел ТВ и нажимаем кнопку «Вход в браузер дополнений»

Далее идем «Установить из репозитория — Все репозитории — Клиенты PVR» и ищем плагин PVR IPTV Simple Client. Жмакаем на него и попадаем сюда:

Жмем кнопку «Установить» и ждем, когда система объявит об установке плагина.

Чтобы не вставать два раза, снова жмем на имя плагина, открывается то же окно, но теперь с активной кнопкой «Настроить».

Жмем кнопку «Настройть» Вот здесь и понадобится наша ссылка на плейлист. Вставляем/вписываем в поле «Ссылка на M3U». Все остальное оставляем как есть.

Переходим в раздел «Установка EPG». Это телепрограмма и логотипы каналов. Специально для ILookTV (бывший EDEM TV) существует телепрограмма в виде ссылок на XML архивы:

Упрощенный EPG — это EPG на текущий день без gzip-сжатия с минимумом информации для слабых устройств.

Мне нравится второй вариант. Копируем и вставляем/вписываем в настройки.

Прописываем EPG, остальное не трогаем. Переходим в раздел «Логотипы каналов». Здесь указываем ту же ссылку на EPG. Жмем ОК. Система потребует перезагрузки клиента IPTV. Можете перезагрузить медиацентр Kodi.

На этом настройка закончена. Идем в главном меню в раздел ТВ и жмем кнопку «Каналы». Немного ждем, пока подтянется телепрограмма и смотрим ТВ!

2 Overview

IPTV Simple Client is a basic PVR Addon for XBMC to recieve IPTV Live TV, Radio channels, and EPG directly in XBMC.

It adds support for Live TV watching and EPG TV Guide through IPTV provided by the Internet providers in former USSR countries among others.

Please note that this is not yet stable software, and the authors are in no way responsible for failed playings, incorrect EPG times, wasted hours, or any other undesirable effects.

IMPORTANT: Please disable all PVR addons before installing this IPTV Simple Client addon!

3 What is IPTV

IPTV (abbreviation for «Internet Protocol television») is a system through which television services are delivered using the Internet protocol suite over a packet-switched network such as the Internet, instead of being delivered through traditional terrestrial, satellite signal, and cable television formats.

IPTV is distinguished from Internet television by its on-going standardization process (e.g., European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and preferential deployment scenarios in subscriber-based telecommunications networks with high-speed access channels into end-user premises via set-top boxes or other customer-premises equipment.

4 IPTV inside Kodi

To get an IPTV signal into Kodi’s PVR frontend your first option is to use an external third-party PVR backend software or stand-alone hardware box that will parse the signal and then in turn repackage and forward it on to a PVR client addon compatible with Kodi, using PVR backend server software such as Tvheadend, VDR, MythTV, and MediaPortal, or a stand-alone hardware box like Njoy N7 or HDHomeRun.

The second option is to use a PVR client addon in Kodi that is capable of receiving IPTV signal directly in Kodi without an third-party PVR backend software or hardware, for which there currently only is one PVR client addon, and that is |IPTV Simple Client

5 Setup the IPTV Simple Client in Kodi

1. Go to Settings -> Add-ons -> My add-ons -> PVR Clients
2. Select «Configure»

6 Usage

The IPTV Simple Client addon currently supports using M3U playlist format as Live TV streams source and XMLTV (XML) format as EPG source.

Example

tvg-id Corresponds to ‘channel-id’ field in the EPG xml file. If missing from the M3U file, the addon will use the ‘tvg-name’ tag to map the channel to the EPG. tvg-name Corresponds to ‘display-name’ field in the EPG xml file. Space characters need to be replaced with ‘_’ (underscore character). If missing from the M3U file, the addon will use the ‘channel-name’ tag to map the channel to the EPG. tvg-logo Channel Logo filename; without the extension (.png). If missing from the M3U file, the addon will use the ‘channel-name’ to find the logo. tvg-shift Defines the amount of time, in hours, to shift the EPG. Use ‘#EXTM3U’ to shift all channels. Use ‘#EXTINF’ to shift an individual channel. tvg-chno Corresponds to the channel number in Kodi. Displays the number next the name of the channel. group-title Group name for user defined collection of channels. If missing from the M3U file, the addon will use the group name from the previous channel. radio Is a flag that defined a group or a channel as a radio channel. If missing from the M3U file, the addon will use the current group value, if one exists.
