У кого-нибудь получилось установить на данную модель Windows 7?
Зависает на логотипе загрузки Windows. (GPT\UEFI).

Предвкушая возможные вопросы:
— Windows 10 некорректно (для меня) работает с масштабированием интерфейса отличным от 100%.
Выход только OS X либо Windows 7.
OS X работает чудесно, но — несовместимая Wi-Fi карта (Подходящих под M.2 NGFF слот всего пару по космос-цене).

Тоже Win 7 стал с флешки без проблем, только драйвера пока не нашел. Chehonte1, а вы где их брали?

Я думаю, если стоит заглушка, то можно с нее срезать декоративную часть и на термоклей приклеить к оптибею.

Понял. А Вы где купили? Что-то у катайцев трудно найти.

Купил неделю назад этот ноутбук. Заменил DVD-ROM на optibay 9.5 мм — купил через OLX с уже установленной декоративной планкой для Lenovo серии 310/510 (брал здесь ). Такой же оптибей можно заказать с ebay за $16. Качество кейса очень хорошее (металлизирован), в комплекте идет маленькая отвертка и винты. Единственное, что декоративная планка черного цвета и немного отличается от корпуса моего ноута в цвете Gun Metal.

Установил Windows 7 — взял сборку SmokieBlahBlah с известного торрент-трекера. Взял ее потому, как при установке ОС /в начале/ есть возможность выбора и отключения сервисов/служб (гибернации, брандмауэра и проч.).

Первый шаг. Перед установкой Win7 нужно предварительно убедиться, что в BIOS-e стоит не UEFI , а Legacy . После чего необходимо вставить флешку с «виндой» в USB-порт и в «холодном состоянии» (т.е. ноутбук выключен) нажать зубочисткой на миниатюрное отверстие слева — это кнопка NOVO. Затем с клавиатуры выбрать строку Boot Menu и вашу загрузочную флешку.

Второй шаг — ставим драйвера устройств (после установки Win7). Все нужные драйвера в автоматическом режиме находятся и устанавливаются с помощью пакета Snappy Driver Installer (SDI) . Можете запускать SDI и спокойно идти пить чай, кофе или смотреть в это время кино пока ставятся «дрова».

Третий шаг — ставим утилиту планов электроэнергии и поддержки Fn-клавиш (регулировка «яркость экрана», «громкость звука» и проч.). На мой взгляд более подходит Lenovo Energy Management 4.3.1.2 (от 21.10.2009, брал на официальном сайте ). Есть более ранние версии Lenovo Energy Management — они отличаются интерфейсом и возможностью усиленного продува ноута (Режим «Очистка от пыли»).

Не удалось пока «победить» (или найти) нужный/правильный ACPI-драйвер. В Win7 если вы нажали кнопку «вкл» ноута и закрыли крышку, то после загрузки системы, открыв крышку ноутбука, увидите черный экран. Поэтому стартовать нужно с открытой крышкой. Это не критично, но меня немного напрягает. Возможно, это связано только с моим экземпляром ноутбука. Но на Windows 10 этой проблемы нет — проверено лично.

На других форумах пользователь писал: чтобы победить проблему «черного экрана» менял матрицу и шлейф — безуспешно (вроде это был случай с 100-серией), а другой пытался перешивать BIOS. Ни в коем случае не производите подобных манипуляций — последнее чревато «кирпичом».

Lenovo 510 windows 10

I want to try to update a 5 year old ThinkPad W510, which I have not really been using much, from Win 7 to Win 10. I don’t yet see it in the compatability list yet so I am not sure whether it will be viable although hardware-wise it meets the Win 10 specs. I looked at the recommendations for upgrading from Win 7 to Windows 8 and I will attempt to follow those as a first step.

1) It recommended updating the BIOS as there was a BIOS change relating to Windows 8. I have done that.

2) I will remove a lot of unused software. Those that I want to retain might need to be updated and I will install the latest ones after the upgrade.

3) There was a list of five software programs / drivers that were indicated as being required to be removed. I will do that prior to the update.

4) There was a whole slew of Lenovo software and some drivers that were recommended to be removed. I can do that also but it seems that Lenovo has not developed updated versions yet. I think it might be best to wait for those before committing to the upgrade.

5) Regarding drivers,when I ran Windows Update under Win 7, it has 7 driver updates available:

a) AuthenTec driver update for TouchChip Fingerprint CoProcessor [my device is made by UPEK]

b) Intel Lan — Intel 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection

c) Lenovo LCD (1366×768) [This is the .INF file defining the ThinkPad display]

d) Lenovo Other Hardware — Lenovo PM (Power Mgmt) Device

e) nVidia — Graphics Adapter Quadro FX 880M

f) Ricoh Company — Storage — PCIe Memory Stick Host Controller

g) Synaptics ThinkPad UltraNav Pointing Device

Using Windows Update to install drivers has been prone to problems for many. I intend to update what I can from the Lenovo drivers site.

a) Lenovo has an update to the Fingerprint software for Win7/Win8 which includes a new driver. Apparently AuthenTec bought up the technology from UPEK, that explains the name change. Since Lenovo recommends that the Fingerprint software be uninstalled, I am not sure whether to install the new software and then uninstall it prior to the Win 10 install or whether Lenovo will be coming out with a new version for Win 10.

b) For the Intel LAN Adapter I will install the Lenovo update.

c) I probably will let Windows Update install the LCD .INF file. Lenovo has two different versions, one appears to be newer which had included support for Win 10 and then removed it (?).

d) The Power Mgmt Device is questionable since I was not able to find any update from Lenovo.

e), f), g) I will use Lenovo’s updates for these.

[ I would hope Win 10 would apply any driver updates that would be needed, but whether Lenovo will have new ones available shortly after the releae of Win 10, I don’t know. ]

Lenovo 510 windows 10

I am a computer ignoramus, whose knowledge of computers extends to switching the thing on and off unaided. I bought this T510 some years ago (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit) and it worked perfectly satisfactorily, until I made what appears to have been a fundamental error — I «upgraded» to Windows 10. «Degraded» would be a better word. The thing now takes ages to react to anything. It is just soooo slow that it has acquired the usefulness of a chocolate teapot. I can’t see any posts relating to this particular subject on the forum, although I see members saying that 10 works fine on their T510s. What am I doing wrong? Or is it just my incompetence that’s letting down the side?

I see two problems:

— Your HDD disk should be replaced as you have pretty slow model (5400rpm/8MB cache), which probably have some wear level. SMART don’t shows all problems — especially performance issues. I would advise replacing it with SSD, e.g. Samsung 850 EVO 250GB and install Windows 10 on it. Regarding old disk, you can buy a caddy/Ultrabay adapter and install it instead of DVD drive.

— You have only 4GB RAM. Please do note, that your integrated GPU doesn’t have it’s own memory. Instead, it can allocate up to 1.5GB — 2GB RAM, so effectively only 2GB is left for your OS. Opening many apps or simply tabs in web browser could allocate all available RAM. When this happen, OS starts to utilize HDD as a virtual memory. This severly impacts OS perfromance, especially on slow HDDs. Increasing memory to 8GB should improve the situtation (it’s maximum supported by i5-480M).

Probably your hard drive is at the end of life. Please download CrystalDiskInfo and provide SMART properties.

Moreover it’s also possible, that you have only single memory module or insufficient memory capacity. You can check it using HWiNFO:

The stop-gap solution would be to defragment the drive regularly until you do upgrade.

So I started with replacing the RAM under the base with the type you suggested (there’s another under the keyboard, which I left in place) — and promptly moved on to another category of problem, from the computer that works slowly to the computer that doesn’t work at all! I am confronted with the dreaded Windows 10 BSOD, with the peculiar message «STOP CODE: IRQL nmot less or equal». I have absolutely no idea what that means. What have I done wrong?
