I am guessing the W520 is a missing it’s Intel Management Enginer Serial Over LAN (SOL) Driver.
I did, find a Windows 10 version of this driver at http://support.lenovo.com/mo/en/downloads/ds037750, however, it is for the W530, and not the W520. There’s an older version of the driver at http://support.lenovo.com/mo/en/downloads/DS101006, which does list the W520, but it is for Windows 7 and Windows 8, not Windows 10.
The W520 is not supported on Windows 10, according to the matrix at https://support.lenovo.com/mo/en/solutions/ht103535#thinkpad, so it’s kind of a guess as to which driver, if either, will work, but you could try the native Windows 10 driver, and if that doesn’t work, try installing the older Windows 8/Windows 7 driver.
Be sure to back up any valuable data off the system before attemping to install either driver, in case there are any problems. I doubt there will be, but it doesn’t hurt to be a little cautious when working with an unsupported operating system configuration.

There is no Windows 10 Intel graphics driver for Sandy Bridge, and Nvidia has also stopped supporting their graphics adapter too (on Windows at least). It’s unfortunate.

Just came across your chat. I’m running my W520 4270 CTO 2.50GHz i7 2860 4 core Nvidia Quadro 2000M, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3L non-ECC 1600RAM (4x8GB); BP4V2 480GB mSATA PCIe SSD as the C: drive and an ATA Toshiba 480GB HDD as the D Drive, and a lot of WD & Seagate external USB HDD’s 1-7TB units, a Buffalo NAS 2TB Raid 1. WIN 10 x64 v1803. I upgraded the BIOS to UEFI BIOS 1.45, and just found an April 2018 BIOS upgrade for a W530 to 2.71, but have no idea of the difference between a W@) and a W530. I did find out from talking to numerous Tech support elevated level 2-types, who actually know some things as opposed to just reading scripts to you, that the drivers for WIN 8.1 x64 run fine as WIN 10 64 for the W520 which is a big help. It runs better on the v1803 than any prior version of Win 10 x64. The best investment was $149 for an MS store Tech support contract. The techs have replaced RAM, upgraded BIOS (I supplied discs), many clean installs, and driver updates, repairs etc. The older the machine, and lack of Lenovo support, the more outside help becomes necessary.
