I have installed a 64 bit Ubuntu VM (tried both 12 and 14) and am trying to install SIFT via the bootstrap.sh script. Most of the packages (sift-base, sift-scripts, afterglow and almost all others) return the error ‘ERROR: Install Failure: [package name](Error Code: 100)’.

Make sure that there are no other apt-get resources running like the GUI package manager.

Also make sure you have add-apt-repository installed, if it isn’t the following will install it.
sudo apt-get install software-properties-common

The bootstrap.sh script needs to check for add-apt-repository and if not available install the correct package.

If you are using the bootstrap script you just need to run it.

Most likely why you are seeing 100 errors is because another package manager had apt locked.

There are two packages that will error at the moment, dff, guymager

I saw the same errors and worked out that add-apt-repository was not installed, Ubuntu amd64 server 14.04. It foxed me for a while because I didn’t see this on other installs I had done to other machines using the same iso.

The script needs to check to see if add-apt-repository is available otherwise the repositories are not added and the script fails to fetch the packages and reports the 100 errors.

I did confirm a bug. The package that provides that command changed between the two. I’ll get the script fixed today.

в том числе этот факт означает и то, что РЕПОЗИТОРИИ ДАННОГО РЕЛИЗА УБРАНЫ С ОСНОВНЫХ СЕРВЕРОВ убунты на «отдельный» «специальный» сервер «старых релизов». и без дополнительных телодвижений они вашему компу просто не доступны. как следствие — ничего «нового» (по сравнению с тем, что было установлено когда-то ранее) установить у вас не получиться. чтобы это стало возможным, нужно отредактировать файл /etc/apt/sources.list, и в нем прописать вместо указанных там «основных» (иногда, локальных) серверов ubuntu (за исключением репозитория security) сервер old-releases.ubuntu.com. после этого — обновить список пакетов. и лишь потом вы сможете что-либо доустанавливать в вашу убунту.

зы. вышеописанное решение — это натуральный «костыль», который лучше НЕ ИСПОЛЬЗОВАТЬ, а вместо этого — поставить АКТУАЛЬНУЮ версию убунты, а что-бы не бегать потом с выпучеными глазами каждые 9 месяцев,брать именно LTS-версии («long-term support» => «с долговременной поддержкой» (фактически — не менее 5 лет)) убунты

[SOLVED] command ‘apt-get update’ failed: exit code 100

Since yesterday, we are getting the following error on multiple servers when running pveupdate:

Manually running apt-get update works fine. We always used apt-get dist-upgrade when upgrading.
We are using the paid entreprise repo.

Any idea what might cause this ?

@beumont , make this does not generate problems in the future?.
I don’t think to upgrade to Debian 11. I prefer clean installs when there are major version available ( For E. pve6.4 to 7.X)

there I saw a problem, when doing this, old updates were listed and they conflicted
(I’m not 100% sure about this, I just read it)

Trying to start MongoDB and getting the “MongoDB exit code 100” error?

It is common to get exit code error while trying to start a MongoDB service. Incorrect file permissions and missing database directories often cause this error.

What causes MongoDB to exit with code 100?

As we all know, MongoDB is popular for its schema-less database. It does not use the concept of tables and columns, instead, it uses the concept of documents and collections. That’s why MongoDB is quite popular in container software like Docker.

It is common to get errors when starting the MongoDB service.

Fortunately, it returns codes and statuses when exiting. And these codes help in easy troubleshooting of issues with MongoDB.

But what causes it to exit with code 100?

Mongod, the daemon process of the MongoDB system, returns exit code 100 when the process throws an uncaught exception.

Let’s discuss some top causes of MongoDB error and how our Support Engineers fix them.

1. Incorrect file permissions

One main cause of exit code 100 is the incorrect file permissions.

Recently one of our customers had a problem with MongoDB. When he tried to start the mongod service in Ubuntu, he was getting the error,
