Здравствуйте
Стоит wifi карточка в ноутбуке, но система (Linux Mint 17) не видит ее в плане подключений. Как настроить WiFi соединение?
$ iwconfig

[SOLVED] WiFi setup — no wireless extensions.
[SOLVED] WiFi setup — no wireless extensions.
Post by tpreston1 » Sat Apr 09, 2016 8:18 pm
A friend has just asked me to help with his HP ProBook laptop with Mint installed on it. He is more of newbie than me and he managed to uninstall the driver manager. Which I’ve now reinstalled. So this install might be a bit messed with. Regardless I can’t seem to get the wireless network working and I’m getting:
I’ve been through the advice listed in viewtopic.php?t=111141 and even went through the advice mention in that post contained here: https://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/218
Still no wireless (as shown from iwconfig). So now I’m officially stuck and would very much appreciate your sage advice.
UPDATE:
Doing a fresh install as this is just a mess — thanks for reading, will be back with an update!

Hello tpreston1 and Welcome to Mint,
It would be very helpful if we knew what wireless card is in play here.
go to a terminal and type this command and post the output here:

It seems to me that the wireless functionality is turned off on this machine. There is a button to turn wireless on but it’s just unresponsive and there are no fn keys that help. So im going to read the manual if I can find it online and see if there is a way to activate wireless without using this unresponsive button (currently lit up as orange — it should be white).
Just looking at this:
Hard blocked, eeeek run away

It’s a lit up (unresponsive) button just above the keyboard. Seems the easiest way is to install windoze. *cough. So I’m reading through some other Ubuntu posts about this same issue with various other PCs. I.E. it’s not a Mint fault — which actually seems like a nice distro.
Huge thanks for the link and advice.
FURTHER INFO:
Upon startup I went into Grub and at this point the button actually does something — at least the light changes from orange to white when I press it and stays white even after Mint has loaded (formerly was permanently orange). is this some progress!
Yep — I’m posting this update via a wireless connection!

Cannot (re)enable WiFi
Cannot (re)enable WiFi
Post by dan_who » Wed Jul 24, 2013 8:22 am
I’m running LinuxMint 14 (MATE) on my Asus Netbook [1005PEB]. I’ve been running it for several months with few problems despite being new to Linux, but it had difficulty connecting to the wi-fi in a coffee shop today. While playing with the settings to fix it, I selected «Disable WiFi» from the menu on the network icon in the system tray. Afterwards, I didn’t see an option to re-enable WiFi. It was formally right under (or above) the option for «enable networking»
I remember seeing somewhere that this information might be helpful. I don’t see anything about a wifi device, though maybe the ethernet driver is also for wifi. I’m not really sure.
I haven’t been able to find this exact problem through the forums or with other searches online. I already checked my software packages and re-installed mintwifi, but that doesn’t seem to have done anything either.
I also tried the following command in the terminal with no result:
Maybe I’m doing the command wrong?
The last thing I checked was to look under the Windows Wireless Drivers under the Administration menu and I noticed that there are none present. I don’t know if there should be something there or not since MintWifi is already installed.
Anybody have any ideas on what I can do to use wireless on my netbook again? I’m becoming quite fond of linux, but I’m still quite baffled with how to do much beyond the GUI. Doing things in the terminal is interesting, but also fairly confusing since I’m not really sure what the information all means yet.
I saw in the ‘Before You Post’ instructions that running a certain command in the terminal might help with figuring out the problem. I’m not really clear on what it is saying, but the part about eth0 having no wireless extensions seems relevant.

iwlwifi installation disappearing (or not working) on linux mint. No wireless
iwlwifi installation disappearing (or not working) on linux mint. No wireless

I have a new laptop msi PS42 Modern 8RA, and I have been having problems with wireless connectivity on it since the very beginning. First, I had Windows, where the wireless would be lost after each update. Then, I installed Ubuntu, and I didn’t have much luck there either. Had to use wireless adapter to use the internet, that too with frequent disconnections. Now, I have recently installed linux mint, and now I have at least figured out that I need to install iwlwifi to get the adapter to work, and I tried solutions from this link, but the fix was only temporary.
The following are the solutions I tried:
It fixed the issue temporarilty. But it went back to square one after approximately 24 hours.
2. I tried to repeat step 1 after it failed, but repetition didn’t work. Hence I resorted to another suggestion from the same link:
This fixed it too. Again temporarily. And for an even shorter amount of time. It lasted approximately twelve hours.
3. After this, I tried both of the above methods to see if anything works, but none of it did. And then, I tried the solution from this link:
https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.c . t.html#ID7
This fixed too. Again only for twelve hours or so. I really thought this would do it because the firmware was involved here, and it took me a really huge amount of time.
4. I am using a wireless adapter for my usage right now. But even that has been failing me in many ways by getting disconnected every now and then on my home wi-fi. So I decided to solve that issue instead, because the iwlwifi was not working anyway. So I tried the following from this link:
viewtopic.php?t=248675
This happened to solve both of my problems. (Again temporarily). So I took the adapter off and used my device wifi yesterday evening, but when I opened my laptop again this morning, it was already gone. Also, the problem with disconnections was back.
Can anyone help me what is going on?

Please post the results for each of the following commands. Here is how:
Open a terminal window (Ctrl-Alt-t). Make it fullscreen to avoid unneeded linebreaks or chopped lines. Execute the following commands, one at a time.

Настраиваем WiFi в Linux Mint
