Для использования с компьютером, на котором установлена операционная система Mac OS 10.4.9 или более поздней версии, камера Logitech должна быть совместима со стандартом UVC (Universal Video Class). Стандартные драйверы UVC имеются в операционной системе и обеспечивают только минимальную поддержку камеры.

Обновления для решения проблем с совместимостью и обеспечения поддержки драйверов см. на веб-сайте службы поддержки Logitech.

Компьютерами Mac поддерживаются следующие камеры UVC.

Следующие камеры UVC официально не поддерживаются компьютерами Mac, поэтому некоторые функции могут не работать, а некоторые приложения не поддерживаться.

Question: Q: Logitech c920 Webcam, no 1080p on OS X 10.9.1 Mavericks. Help

AMD Radeon HD 6630M

I recently bought a Logitech c920
and both audio & video works on:

FaceTime
QuickTime
Photo Booth
& Google Hangout

but all in 720p only

and the quality looks like 480p 😟

Bought WebCam Settings from the App Store,

which improved the color & sharpness a little

but it has not Resolution Control

So I’m still not able to get 1080p video.

Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

I had the same problem after a fresh install of Mavericks — Quicktime recording options were either High (720p) or Maximum (2304×1536) — before the install I could record in 1080p.

Here’s my solution:

2, Open FCP, click OK to use it as a 30 day trial, then quit FCP.

3. Unplug and replug the C920 from the USB port.

4. Open Quicktime Player, New Movie Recording, set the quality to Maximum and the resolution is now 1080p.

Why this works: FCP installs the Apple ProRes Codec so Quicktime will display the C920’s video in Apple ProRes 4444, 1920×1080 format.

Formatted my drive,
re-installed Mavericks,

QuickTime is recording in 1080p now.

Must have been an issue with upgrading from Lion to Mavericks.
The fresh install did the trick, I think?

Either «Get Info» was giving me wrong information on the recorded file’s video resolution, or QuickTime is fluctuating it’s maximum record quality, because now it’s recording supper choppy at 2304×1536.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Especially for the «Why This Works»

I’m going to contact Apple’s Pro Apps Department tomorrow, during business hours and see if they can tell me where I can download just the codec or if they can send the codec to my QuickTime App as a Fix. If that works, it’ll be a quick & easy solution to share with the rest of Apple Support Communities & with the Apple Support Line. So everyone else checking in on the same problem, won’t have to wait weeks for a smart user like you to come along & save the day 🙂

If Apple Pro Apps Department can’t help.
Then I’ll definately do the FCPX Trial method you suggested.

Hi, pleased to hear that I’ve helped. There is a direct link to the codecs (see below) but they’re described as an update if you have any Pro apps installed. Worth trying though if you’ve not yet downloaded FCP.

Yeah, I just ran across that today myself, thanks to your original reply. But it said, «no pro apps detected» so something like that and refused to install. Kinda crazy that QuickTime has ProRes 4:4:4:4 2304×1536 but not the 1920×1080 codec More Less

I tried doing the trick above that involved installing the trial version of FCP. It would not install because, essentially, my early 2008 Mac Pro tower isn’t hardware capable. I’m wondering if this has to do with the video card, which is an ATI Radeon HD 2600. I read somewhere that these cards had a defect and there was a trade-in program that has now expired. I never heard of it in time.

Thanks so much for this fix! Works perfectly and after reading your «What it works» statement, makes perfect sense.

It would be great for this to make its way back to both Apple and Logitech. Such any easy fix if they can distribute the new codec.

Thanks for the help so far.

My C920 problem was that using the «Maximum» resolution in QuickTime resulted in extremely choppy and useless video (low frame rate?) and huge files. Great image, though. 720p worked fine.

I installed the trial version of FCP and subsequently installed the Apple Pro Res codec. (Mac Mini, Mavericks 10.9.2)

Now when using QuickTime, the «Maximum» resolution is now 1920×1080 (according to Movie Inspector), but when recording 1920×1080 video QuickTime crashes every time, after exactly five seconds of recording.
