Lotus smartsuite windows 10

Installing Lotus Smartsuite on new Windows 10 Machine

When installing from a download on a new Lenovo laptop running Windows 10 I get the following error — «error 2709.offline join completion information was not found». I found a complicated resolution that suggests it relates to a Windows update in 2014. This issue has been tracked to a problem with Microsoft Security update MS14-049. If this is in fact correct I need help finding the product code to whitelist.

See instructions suggested below:

RESOLUTION: We followed these steps to fix the issue:

1. Click Start , click Run , type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK .

2. Locate and then click the following subkey in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer If the above key does not exist, create it.

3. On the Edit menu, point to New , and then click DWORD Value .

4. Type SecureRepairPolicy for the name of the DWORD, and then press Enter.

5. Right-click SecureRepairPolicy , and then click Modify .

6. In the Value data box, type 2 , and then click OK .

7. Locate and then click the following subkey in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer

8. On the Edit menu, point to New , and then click Key .

9. Type SecureRepairWhitelist for the name of the key, and then press Enter.

10. Double-click the SecureRepairWhitelist key to open it.

11. On the Edit menu, point to New , and then click String Value . Create String Values that contain the product codes (including braces <>) of the products that have to be added to the Safe Recipients list. NOTE: The NAME of the String Value is the «product code» and the VALUE can be left blank. To obtain the product code for other MSIs, open the MSI by using the ORCA tool that is available in Windows SDK.

Lotus Smartsuite and Windows 10

I am successfully using Lotus Smartsuite on my present Windows 7 Professional operating system. If I upgrade to Windows 10, will I have to reinstall it and, more importantly, will it still run? Thanks for any help with this.

I suggest that users of SmartSuite go out to the internet to find sellers of SmartSuite and ask them whether the app will still work in Windows 10 upgrade or not.

Yes, I am running Lotus SmartSuite with no problems on Windows 10.

FYI, if you have a problem, try inserting the 9.8 Millennium edition disk. stop autoinstall. run .exe file to install.

My other comment concerns the correct way to install SmartSuite on Windows 10. (FYI, if you have a problem, try inserting the 9.8 Millennium edition disk. stop autoinstall . run .exe file to install.) Have used SmartSuite for 20+ years and depend on all of the suite of programs.

I was able to install on my Windows 10 computer but can’t seem to get it to run . Any suggestions? Thank you!

One thing I did is to send shortcuts for each of the Lotus applications I use most to the desktop to have quick access to open.

Hopefully this will work for you.

  1. Open File Explorer — Local Disk C:
  2. Scroll down and Open Lotus Folder
  3. Then open the application folder (example Lotus Word Pro)
  4. Scroll down until you find the «wordpro.exe»
  5. «Right click» on the «wordpro.exe» file then scroll down and put your courser on the «send to» option then «left click» on Desktop (create shortcut)
  6. repeat steps 3 through 5 for each Lotus Application you frequently use

Good luck, Please let us know if it works for you.

Can’t find my copy of Organizer 6.0 which I had on XP and VISTA machines. Had to install Organizer 5.0 on my new WINDOWS 10 machine.

To install I ran setup.exe from the disk in VISTA compatibility, and I may have changed that setting to XP compatibility after I installed it. but only because I get a message that their may be a problem with the file when I close it. Aside from that it works perefect. I’ve used Organizer for 16+years. won’t use any other until I’m finally forced into no other choice. Wish I could find my copy of Organizer 6.0. but 5.0 works fine. I was able to transport the data from 6.0 to 5.0.

Lotus SmartSuite is not working on windows 10

I have been using Lotus SmartSuite (primarily Organizer) on my computers since 1996!! It worked successfully on every upgrade of Windows until I upgraded to Windows 10. Why will it not work now? I am completely frustrated by this. Lotus Organizer is the only diary that is actually a proper diary. I can create multiple diaries for work, personal and any other subject I care to name. I so want this back. If I had known that it wouldn’t work on W10 I would not have upgraded.

Lotus SmartSuite has some 16 bit code, so if you are running 64 bit Windows it is likely incompatible.

Press Windows key + X

Look under system type. Does it say 32 or 64 bit?

If its 32 bit, try running enabling 16 bit mode.

I installed Windows 10 64bit and then installed Lotus SmartSuite, which worked perfectly on Windows 8.1 32bit.

Smartsuite appeared to install OK, but when I try to use drop down dialogs I see only a long bar rather than the folders which I need to see.

I have uninstalled Windows 10 and reverted to 8.1 but I would like to use 10, and would be grateful to know if I will be able to use Smartsuite if I install Windows 10 32bit?

Many thanks for your help.

Nope, the same issue just occurred to me.

I have never really updated Windows 10 from the moment I bought my computer (1.5 years ago) All the software I installed on it worked fine, old, new they all where working fine. I blocked off as much as possible all these updates and all the software I used ran just fine.

Suddenly my machine automatically started to update to version 1709 OS build 16299.125 and then trouble started.

I find it quite intrusive that Win10 keeps forcing updates if everything works fine as it is. Not wanting to update because all works fine is just being ignored. The issue is that 2 software packages one of them IBM Lotus Organizer 6 that I’ve been using for years for different reasons is now not working anymore. There are software packages that are for one or another reason good and reliable and that is why people use them. Now suddenly they stopped working.

The steps you’ve been setting out for SusanMonk are not working. I’ve installed, run the program and tried to open a Organizer data file in compatibility mode but no avail.

There are two messages that appeared when trying to start Lotus Organizer:

1 — Can’t load «LTBUBN12.DLL». Possbly due to one of the following : No application associated with this file, insufficient memory, executable file is corrupt, or relocations are not valid.

This message disappeared when opening Lotus Organizer in compatibility mode. However the second message remained and seems to cause Lotus Organizer to not run.

2 — Because there may be a problem with your Organizer file, Organizer will close now. The following file «. Temp\OrgDB50.tmp» has been created which may help Customer Support determine what caused the problem. Please close open applications and restart your computer before continuing. If the problem persists, please contact Customer Support.

I have not been able to solve the second issue and checked the file Organizer refers to. On my other system (Win7) that file still opens just fine but I need it to open on my main Win10 system.

I don’t get it that a forced update of Win10 causes issues while it should make everything run even better.
