how stop popups on lower right corner of desktop
two web sites I visit are able to popup messages on my windows 10 desktop. Lower right corner. The messages are there when I boot the PC. Have to click the «x» to dismiss them. Then a few messages popup during the day.
How do I trace back to find out how those popups are appearing?
In notifications & actions I have show notifications from dropbox, microsoft onedrive and windows explorer.
Make sure these are not freeloading on your Startup, since the only programs that need to start with WIndows are Windows, and anything else you can’t wait to start yourself like a Sync. I also allow Flash Player updater since it’s important to be current. The way to check this is in the Checklist below.
Go over this Checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki.
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I’ll keep working with you until this is resolved.

Red X mark usually occur, if a license for an app is out of sync or due to pending updates.
To sync your app licenses, follow these steps:
- On the Start screen, tap or click Store to open the Windows Store.
- Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Settings.
(If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Settings.) - Tap or click App updates. If you haven’t signed in to the Windows Store, sign in using your Microsoft account.
- Tap or click Sync licenses.
You may refer to the steps from the following Microsoft article: Troubleshoot problems with an app

This issue might occur due to corrupt Store app settings.
I would suggest you to reset the Store app by re-registering it. Refer to the link and follow the steps from it to do so:
For Store, you would need to run the command in Command Prompt (admin mode): powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.XML
Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, you can refer to the following steps to back the registry files on the computer:
a) Press Windows and r key to open the run box.
b) Type ‘regedit’ and press Enter from the keyboard.
c) Open the file option on the menu bar.
d) Click on Export and save the file with a name on the desktop.
If you want to restore the file, you can do so by double clicking the file that you have saved on the desktop.
Please let us know if the issue still persist.
Lower right corner windows
Try this, right click on desktop -> Screen resolution -> Advanced settings -> On-Screen display -> uncheck «Enable On-Screen display» -> OK.
On screen display when you press Fn+Fx keys won’t appear, however they would function.
Hope this helps.

Re: A symbol appears in lower right corner of screen.
It’s just the hotkey feature that means your capslock is on. Just press the capslock key to turn it off and it will go away.

Re: A symbol appears in lower right corner of screen.
Don’t think so, unless uninstalling hotkey. But you’ll loose all the features related to Fn+Fx keys.

Re: A symbol appears in lower right corner of screen.
What is hotkey? why would anyone want it?
Ive googled «lenovo hotkey» and could not find what its for or any point to this app, so want to uninstall it. However its not in the «add or remove programs» list.
How does one uninstall it?
Why do PC makes waste our hard earned money by writing bloatware we dont want, then waste our time getting rid of it?

Re: A symbol appears in lower right corner of screen.
Erm. The hotkey package provides a visual indicator of the volume and brightness functions, as well as handles all of the Fn+F_ combinations.
AFAICT, the Hotkey package is still mostly non-.NET code, which makes it considerably lighter than the .NET Power Manager, Access Connections, etc.

Re: A symbol appears in lower right corner of screen.
What is the Fn+F_ combinations?
So there is no way to install this thing?
Interestingly, Ive just switch to twin SSDs, now power manager etc. load in normal time, rather than glacial time. Boot time hasn’t improved much though.

Re: A symbol appears in lower right corner of screen.
Fn+F2: Lock computer
Fn+F3: Switch power profiles or power off display
Fn+F4: Suspend
..etc.
You CAN uninstall Hotkeys, but you’ll lose a few features.
Power Manager has always loaded slowly for me, which is one of the reasons I don’t launch it for anything other than setting battery thresholds.
