I’ll be glad to help you
Wireless mouse is a plug and play device and usually uses the Windows drivers and works fine.
I would like to know whether you are facing any issues with the mouse?
You can download the driver for the mouse from the below link.
If you continue to face any issue I recommend you update the mouse firmware from the below link.
Here is how you can update the firmware.
1. Download driver executable to a directory on your hard drive.
2. Double click the *.exe to begin installation .
3. Follow on-screen instructions.
Restart your computer and test the mouse, this should resolve the issue.
Let me know how it goes. Awaiting your reply!

Both windows 7 and 8.1 works allright with this mouse. I’ve always lots of troubles during the process of installation, but then, it works perfect.
Now, i do a fresh install of Windows 10, and i cant make it works. I’ve been trying for 2 days.
I tried in compatibility mode, in every .exe that i found. but still dont work.
The pairing wizard founds the mouse, id is correct. Everything is ok, but when it try to pair. «unable to detect HP WiFi Mobile Mouse» Try again. the same result. it feels like something is blocking conexion. i add an exception to the firewall and try some configurations on services.msc. but still not working.
Hey HP! I know our mouse its pretty old, but its amazing! Help us to continue using it!

The same in the US support. when i put my S/N and product name, told me that my warranty expired on Nov 2012, so the only solution is call by phone.

I have this same problem. And since my usb ports are toast, this is the only way for me to have a mouse.
I really hope HP will come with an update or something.

Ok. Hp call me this morning, i was really happy waiting for solutions, or at least try the mouse with them, and get a diagnose of the problem. but instead of that. hp technician told me «the only thing to be done, is to wait looking to hp webpage in order to get a windows 10 update»
As you can see in the hp support page, drivers are not even done for windows 8, so. what we can expect about windows 10?
Come on HP! We were using our mouse for 3 years till now, in compatibility mode. how many years you guys need to make a simple driver that works on Windows 10?
All of you, in the same situation, thanks for your replys. Its good not to be alone in this battle

There is this driver for windows 8. But i never used it (found while searching for win 10 and tested, but doesn’t work). For me worked the software and driver from the cd with windows 8.1 without compatible mode.

I just got a call from HP.
When searching for mail Support on the HP website their was that pop up window that asked me if i’m happy with their support. Of cause i wrote no, because i even could not contact them for free. So they called back.
First there was someone from the main support and had no idea about computers i think, but she connected me with an technician. And he phoned with me for an hour and tried to get the mouse working via remote desktop connection. He gave me the latest HP Mouse Suite Version (I used 2.3 from the cd and the latest version is 2.9). Finaly it still does not work. But he was very involed, but he wasn’t optimistic there will be ever a working driver for us. The mouse is too old and the main problem is Windows 10 (of cause he need to say that). So either we program our own driver or we can through the mouse out of the window.
At the end he told me if i’m interessted in a new device (PC) i should contact HP again they could do something with the price and their are lots of student offer
But i think my next PC will not be from HP. At my home we had 2 desktops and 2 notebooks and all had bugs. The 3 mouses are all **bleep** and my dockingstation never worked.

I do not believe that the Wi-Fi mouse is able to easily work under Linux/Ubuntu. The mouse requires software on the host PC side, and the bundled software supports Windows 7.
The host PC needs 2 main components, it needs some type of Wi-Fi Direct type communication (under Windows 7 the software uses the Microsoft SoftAP component to create a virtual wireless adapter), and then it also needs a driver to make the mouse appear as a USB device to the host.
Hope that this helps,

My Compaq 610 (intel core2) doesn’t have Wi-Fi so I use a USB Wi-fi adapter. It works with other types of wi-fi mouse with Win7 and Ubuntu.
That’s why I can’t figure out why It doesn’t work at least with Ubuntu.
Do you have any tip to solve this issue?
I hope I was clear in explaining.

Thanks for your reply! I wasn’t sure if when you mentioned other Wi-Fi mice if you were talking about wireless mice in general (like wireless mice that use a USB receiver that you plug into your PC)? The HP Wi-Fi Mobile Mouse and HP Wi-Fi Touch Mouse are a little different from the normal wireless mouse, because the Wi-Fi mouse does not need a USB receiver on the PC side. Instead it uses the wireless (802.11) transmitter/receiver in your PC, and the mouse and PC direclty commicate with each other (the communication does not go through a router or anything).
In order to have this communiation work, the mouse and PC software have to be paired together, and there is special Windows 7 software on the PC that makes the communication happen, and makes the mouse appear as a USB mouse to Windows. Since this software is only provided for Windows 7, there is no built-in support for Ubuntu. What version of Ubuntu are you running, and does it have some type of «Wi-Fi Direct» support?
