By default, Windows contains generic drivers for many different types of hardware connected to your computer.
If you buy a complete PC or laptop, it will come with the manufacturer’s drivers integrated. You may even get a driver CD containing drivers you can install on your computer. The latest versions of these drivers are also available or download from the manufacturer’s website.
So, the default drivers Microsoft provides are stripped down and a bit older, but they’re written by your device manufacturer and not Microsoft themselves. Hence we recommend you to download the drivers directly from the manufacturer’s website, because those will be made available via Windows update only at a later date.
If it still does not help and you have the Windows 7/8/8.1 drivers for the drivers, you may check if installing the drivers in compatibility mode helps to resolve the issue.
Follow the steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode.
1. Go to the location where you had saved your downloaded setup files of the drivers and right click, then select Properties.
2. Select Compatibility Tab.
3. Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the Windows 7/8/8.1 operating system
accordingly from the drop down list.
4. Let the driver to install and then check the functionality.
