Mac os add to favorites

Mac os add to favorites

For many, the answer to the question of how to add a folder to Mac OS favorites via Finder is not so obvious. Because the Sidebar tab in the settings only helps to toggle the visibility of existing favorites, and you won’t be able to add new ones.

But in fact, on Mac OS, adding a folder to favorites is very simple. Select it and press Command + T or manually drag it to the desired position on the side panel.

Thus, the folder will have to be permanently fixed in the Favorites. By the way, the example clearly shows that the Pictures folder is usually there by default.

Add a network folder to favorites

And to add a network folder to your favorites on a Mac, follow these steps.

Start Finder. Use Command + K to activate Connect to Server.

Write down the path to the network drive that you need. As a rule, it should be done in this form: protocol // computer name (or ip), but sometimes the protocol can be left blank at the beginning.

Choose “Connect”. If necessary, enter the password and specify the connection folder.

To make the disk available when you activate your computer, you need to add it to Login Items.

Go to the Apple menu, then System Preferences> Users & Groups> Login Items .

To add a network drive, click on +, select the drive and Add.

If the drive is not shown, then find the General tab in the Finder options and check the Connected servers box. Check if the disk should be activated successfully.

Collage Maker that works with IPhoto on MAC Book Pro

Finally I have found a program that works with IPhoto on my Mac Book Pro:) Have been reviewing MANY and this seems to be the one! Easy to use & nice selection of layouts for photo collages. Just wanted a simple version so I could collage pictures BEFORE I posted them on FaceBook. It also gives you the option to write text in the collage. GREAT look if appropriate:) Many use cell phones to create collages to post on FB but I don’t. I take pictures with my digital 35 mm Nikon, upload to IPhoto, edit & now I can group a small cluster of favorites into a collage. THANK YOU COLLAGE FACTORY. You were just what I was looking for. I rated 4+ stars because I have used you only twice. Today I posted my 1st collage on Facebook and have received many compliments on the look. I will be happy to promote Collage Factory to others:) Thank you.

Cannot Resize Images

The interface is clean and easy to use, understanding that this is the free version there are still useful templates and it is a functional program. The problem I have (and I am not paying $20 just to find out if this is solved in the Pro version) is that you cannot resize an image. You select the template, add some photos to the left side, then drag them to the individual squares. If the photo dimensions do not match that of the square you can move the photo around, and I have been able to double click the photo and ENLARGE it to zoon in, but I cannot reduce the size. Let me explain. Lets say you are using a template with square boxes. Well, no camera today put out square photos. What if you need the entire photo in the template box? You should be able to reduce the photo so the larger dimension fits, and then fill the background with something — like letterboxing. This does not appear possible — or at least is the one option that isn’t intuitive. Since I am using this to make single large collage images of products I am selling, I must have the entire photo visible. If I have to use another tool to resize each image, than this is essentially useless to me.

Almost Great!

Doesn’t take a long time to learn how to use this app. Good for simple collage project. Though heigh of frames are not all the same which resulting in wasted spaces top and bottom of printed album pages for rectangular collage. I just use the square ones.
The redo function does not work once I drag another picture to a different slot and go back to delete the ones that previously inserted in any slot within the collage. But then maybe there’s a trick to it that I have not found yet. So, I try to make sure that I got the right picture the first time or delete it before dragging another one to a different slot. Problem solved. Thank you for the wonderful app.@

A Diary of My Life

I’m not kidding when I say you could basically read my diary by checking my completed tasks in ToDoist. my husband and I operate off of ToDoist for everything — daily chores, monthly chores, annual chores, scheduling annual doctor appointments, reminders to purchase anniversary gifts, packing lists, ideas for long road trips, reminders to plan a date night, work projects, finances, reminders to change our address when our car lien expires, etc. There are plenty of pro-users out there that use every trick ToDoist has, but we LIVE off of the multiple projects, sharing, tasks, subtasks, priority levels and due dates. There is not a single day that goes by where we don’t use ToDoist and it improves our mental health to have everything we should do written out and easisly check-off-able. We have our daily walks with our dog, exercise, a reminder to start cooking lunch & dinner, medicine reminders, etc in there too. Cannot recommend enough!

Also, for work, I am consistenly recognized as the most efficient person for completing my work. I owe this all to ToDoist. Everyday, I clear out my easy stuff that takes a total of 5-10 minutes apiece for the first 1-2 hours of my day, then jump into my big projects for the day. I know exactly what to do when based on due date and importance level. Couldn’t get through my workday without it!

Best Keeps Getting Better

I’ve used Todoist for quite some time, and gladly pay for the premium version. I appreciate the ability to define and use as many tags as you want on items, the ability to define sections within each project. I personally add sections for backlog, in progress, and paused to help keep me focused.

I have few complaints: (1) on mobile, rearranging items by dragging is made difficult because tapping on an item first brings up a pretty long menu, and you have to slide your finger outside of the menu area to make the menu go away so you can drag the item to a new location. (2) While I like being able to arrange projects into a hierarchy, I would love to be able to select a parent project and see a consolidated list of all items that isn’t divided up by project and section. For example, I have «work» and «personal» projects, and under each of those I have other projects like «Q3 planning», and «yardwork». and so on. If I click on the work project, I’d like to see all the items in one list, not just all the items in «work» followed by all the items in «Q3 planning» followed by sections for each other subproject.

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback, it has been noted!
Have you tried using a filter with the query «##work» or «##personal» this should show you all tasks within your parent project and its sub-projects in the same view.

PLIST Editor 4+

VDT LABS S.R.L.

Screenshots

Description

PLIST Editor is an easy to use editor for property list (.plist) data. In a clean and uncluttered interface, it allows you to quickly create, visualise, modify, and save your .plist documents.

PLIST Editor is probably the only «source control» friendly property list editor that you can find on the market (except Xcode, of course). For XML plists (the most commonly used) and OpenStep/ASCII plists, it maintains the order of dictionary elements and the editing capabilities are on parity with Xcode, so you don’t see a difference between a file edited in PLIST Editor and one edited in Xcode.

PLIST Editor can be used as a lightweight Xcode alternative, having more features, using less disk space, less memory and starting up much faster.

Core features:
• Open and save property list files in XML, Binary and OpenStep/ASCII format.
• Import plist data contained in .mobileconfig or .mobileprovision files or other files which are encoded using Cryptographic Message Syntax (CMS). For the files encoded using CMS there is support to see information about the signers (email address and certificate) and the additional certificates which might be included in the message.
• Multiple selection — works on sibling elements
• Cut, copy, paste, duplicate, delete and reorder the elements. You can do all these operations even when multiple elements are selected.
• «Source control» friendly — for XML and OpenStep/ASCII property lists the order of dictionary elements is preserved, showing them in the same order as they are defined in the file. Similarly, when the property list is written to disk, the order of items from a dictionary written to disk is the same as the one seen on screen. This is especially useful when you keep the files in a repository, because only the relevant changes will be shown when diff-ing the edited files.
• Find & Replace text in the property list elements. You can choose where the Find (and Replace) will take place: in «Key» column or «Value» column or both. The option which controls which columns will be searched is available by clicking the «search» image in the find bar (Command + F) and then accessing the options from «Find In» submenu.
• Find & Replace also lets you configure where in the text to look for matches: «Contains», «Equals To», «Starts With», «Ends With» and «Regular Expression»
• Sort items
• Undo and redo
• Edit the elements of a property list. This works both for a single item (be it key or value) or for multiple items (via «Edit -> Edit Value. «).
• Open and edit the files created using NSKeyedArchiver without any loss of information
• Support for pasting plist data, either from raw XML or from Xcode
• Copy elements as Swift objects so you can use them in Xcode
• Copy elements as Objective-C objects, both modern and classic syntax, so you can use them in Xcode
• Copy elements as JSON data, both indented and compact JSON
• Copy elements as XML, Binary (Base 64 encoded) and OpenStep/ASCII plists
• Embed selected elements in array or dictionary
• Shift elements to left or right
• Quickly move elements up or down
• Row height which accommodates multi-line text
• «Add» and «Remove» buttons on the outline element which is tracked by mouse
• Option in Preferences to choose the default font, along with the font size
• Option in Preferences to «Alternate Row Colours» in the outline
• Ability to increase and decrease font size for better readability, per each document individually
• Versions support
• Option, in Preferences, to disable the Auto Save (and Versions)
• Detect when the document is changed by another application
• Double click one of column separators to resize the corresponding column so the largest text in that column will be visible
• Toolbar to access common operations
• Dark Mode support on macOS Mojave 10.14 and above

What’s New

• Fixes for some minor bugs.

Introduced in Version 1.30

Improvements
• On mac OS 11 (Big Sur), the Preferences window is enhanced to have the same look and feel as the rest of the apps from the system.
• Adds a new option for «Reopen windows from last session» in «Preferences» → «General» tab.
• You may choose what happens when you reopen the app and no document is opened. Possible choices, available in «Preferences» → «General» tab, are: «Create New Document», «Show Open Dialog» and «Do Nothing».

Introduced in Version 1.29

Improvements
• Adds menu items (and keyboard shortcuts), to quickly move selected items up and down. These are “Editor → Move Items Up” (Command + Shift + Up Arrow) and “Editor → Move Items Down” (Command + Shift + Down Arrow).

Bug fixing
• Fixes some issues which caused the size and position of the windows to not be properly applied after reopening the app.
• Updates and fixes the keyboard shortcuts document (available from “Help → Keyboard Shortcuts”).

Introduced in Version 1.28

Improvements
• Support Apple Silicon.

Bug fixing
• Fixes for macOS 11 (Big Sur).

Introduced in Version 1.27

Improvements
• Now you can sort the PLIST items by clicking the column headers. The sorting can be done ascending or descending and it follows these rules: if two or more items are selected and a column header is clicked, then only those items are sorted. If a single Array or Dictionary is selected, then all the first level children are sorted. If a single Boolean, Date, Data, Number or String is selected, then all the children of the parent containing that item are sorted. A small arrow will be displayed on the column header that was sorted most recently and will indicate how the sorting was done: ascending or descending.
• Adds an additional option to sort by in the “Sort” sheet. This is “By Type” and performs the sorting based on the (alphabetical) names of the types.

Bug fixing
• Fixes an issue that could cause the app to crash when sorting items.

Introduced in Version 1.26

Improvements
• A document containing the keyboard shortcuts from the app is now accessible via “Help” → “Keyboard Shortcuts”
• Adds a small area, located to the left of PLIST tree, which allows you to select, by dragging, multiple items instead of moving them. When the cursor is located within this area it will change its shape to a “right pointing” arrow instead of a “left pointing” one (which usually is). The addition of this area greatly improves the workflow of selecting and moving items using only the mouse, without any keyboard usage.

Bug fixing
• Fixes an issue where “Print” didn’t work as expected, at least on macOS 10.15 (Catalina).

Introduced in Version 1.25

Improvements
• The «Find» button from the toolbar now toggles the visibility of the Find bar.
• By default the application now uses the global «Find» clipboard for sharing the text to search for. This means the text you enter in one application (or in another PLIST Editor document) will automatically appear in another. You can disable this functionality by clicking the «search» (loupe) image in the Find bar (Command + F) and then uncheck «Use Shared Find Clipboard».
• The entries from PLIST tree editor can now be deleted using «delete forward» (fn + Delete). This is in addition to «delete», which was already supported.
• Similar to Xcode, the Boolean values are now displayed using a combox box containing YES/NO. If you want to switch to the old way of having a checkbox, you can do this from «Preferences -> Use a checkbox for Boolean values»

Bug fixing
• The expanded items no longer (annoyingly) collapse when you change their type.
