Launchpad на Mac — это удобное место для просмотра и открытия приложений, установленных на Mac.

Открытие и закрытие Launchpad

Запуск Launchpad. Нажмите значок Launchpad в Dock (или используйте полосу Control Strip).

Закрытие Launchpad без перехода к приложению. Нажмите в любом месте, кроме значков приложений, или нажмите клавишу Esc.

Открытие и поиск приложений в Launchpad

Поиск приложения. Введите его название в поле поиска вверху экрана Launchpad. Также можно посмотреть на другой странице Launchpad — смахните влево или вправо по трекпаду либо нажмите сочетание клавиш Command-стрелка влево или Command-стрелка вправо.

Запуск приложения. Нажмите объект.

Когда устройство не используется или Вы превысили лимит, заданный для приложений в настройках Экранного времени, значки приложений затемняются и отображается значок песочных часов

Систематизация приложений в Launchpad

Перемещение приложения на странице. Перетяните приложение на другое место той же страницы.

Переместить приложение на другую страницу: Перетяните приложение к краю экрана, затем отпустите его, когда появится нужная страница.

Создание папки с приложениями. Перетяните приложение на другое приложение.

Переименование папки. Нажмите папку, чтобы ее открыть, затем нажмите ее имя и введите новое имя.

Добавление приложения в папку. Перетяните приложение в папку.

Удаление приложения из папки. Перетяните приложение за пределы папки.

Добавление приложений в Launchpad

Приложения, загруженные из App Store, автоматически добавляются в Launchpad.

Добавление приложения, которое Вы не загружали из App Store. Перетяните приложение в папку «Программы» в Finder на Mac. После этого приложение появится в Launchpad.

Удаление приложений из Launchpad

В Launchpad нажмите значок приложения и удерживайте его, пока все значки приложений не начнут покачиваться.

Нажмите кнопку «Удалить» для приложения.

Если кнопка «Удалить» не отображается, приложение нельзя удалить из Launchpad. См. раздел Установка и удаление приложений, установленных на Mac из интернета или с диска.

Совет. Можно перетянуть приложение из Launchpad, чтобы добавить его в Dock. Приложение находится в панели Dock и в Launchpad.

• Fixed an issue where the session window may jump to another monitor when auto-reconnect kicks in.

• Addressed an issue where the name of a redirected folder would be incorrect in the remote session.
• Fixed a bug that made it difficult to resize remote app windows.
• Improved the error messages that are displayed when user accounts fail to update.

• Addressed a multimon issue where the mouse cursor shape would not update correctly when dragging between monitors.
• Added a checkbox to General Preferences to enable/disable Microsoft Teams optimizations.
• Added UI to report if a remote app could not be launched on the server due to not being on the system allow list.
• Fixed an issue where the session window could not be made wider when placed at the top or bottom of the screen.
• Addressed scenarios where the mouse cursor would disappear while connected to a remote PC.
• Deletion of an Azure Virtual Desktop workspace now correctly removes all associated workspaces.
• Fixed an issue where adding a folder to redirect to a bookmark would enable the «Add» button with an empty PC name.

In addition, we have continued to make updates to improve connectivity and performance metrics when connecting to Azure Virtual Desktop.

Note that by default subscribed workspaces are refreshed every six hours. This interval can be changed using the ClientSettings.WorkspaceAutoRefreshInterval user default (minimum is 30 minutes and maximum is 24 hours).

Launch an app on OS X with command line

I want to launch an app on OSX from a script. I need pass it command line arguments. Unfortunately, open doesn’t accept command line args.

The only option I can think of is to use nohup myApp > /dev/null & to launch my app so it can exist independently of the script that launches it.

Any better suggestions?

As was mentioned in the question here, the open command in 10.6 now has an args flag, so you can call:

open -n ./AppName.app —args -AppCommandLineArg

In OS X 10.6, the open command was enhanced to allow passing of arguments to the application:

But for older versions of Mac OS X, and because app bundles aren’t designed to be passed command line arguments, the conventional mechanism is to use Apple Events for files like here for Cocoa apps or here for Carbon apps. You could also probably do something kludgey by passing parameters in using environment variables.

An application bundle (a .app file) is actually a bunch of directories. Instead of using open and the .app name, you can actually move in to it and start the actual binary. For instance:

That is the actual binary that might accept arguments (or not, in LittleSnapper ‘s case).

In case your app needs to work on files (what you would normally expect to pass as: ./myApp *.jpg ), you would do it like this:

This should open the application that you want.

I would recommend the technique that MathieuK offers. In my case, I needed to try it with Chromium:

I realize this doesn’t solve the OP’s problem, but hopefully it saves someone else’s time. 🙂

open also has an -a flag, that you can use to open up an app from within the Applications folder by it’s name (or by bundle identifier with -b flag). You can combine this with the —args option to achieve the result you want:

To open up a video in VLC player that should scale with a factor 2x and loop you would for example exectute:

Note that I could not get the output of the commands to the terminal. (although I didn’t try anything to resolve that)

I wanted to have two separate instances of Chrome running, each using its own profile. I wanted to be able to start them from Spotlight, as is my habit for starting Mac apps. In other words, I needed two regular Mac applications, regChrome for normal browsing and altChrome to use the special profile, to be easily started by keying ⌘-space to bring up Spotlight, then ‘reg’ or ‘alt’, then Enter.

I suppose the brute-force way to accomplish the above goal would be to make two copies of the Google Chrome application bundle under the respective names. But that’s ugly and complicates updating.

What I ended up with was two AppleScript applications containing two commands each. Here is the one for altChrome :

The second line starts Chrome with the alternate profile (the —user-data-dir parameter).

The first line is an unsuccessful attempt to give the two applications distinct icons. Initially, it appears to work fine. However, sooner or later, Chrome rereads its icon file and gets the one corresponding to whichever of the two apps was started last, resulting in two running applications with the same icon. But I haven’t bothered to try to fix it — I keep the two browsers on separate desktops, and navigating between them hasn’t been a problem.
