I am searching for Microsoft Windows CE 6.0 Device Emulator but i am not getting success in it. all i am getting is Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 Device Emulator can you please help me to find the link from where i can download the correct emulator?

Sorry but such an emulator does not exist — at least Microsoft does not offer one.

Are you using a specific device from a hardware vendor?
if this is the case, I’d suggest you contact the vendor and ask for an SDK that includes support for the ARM device emulator.

If this is not applicable, you’re only other option is to build your own Emulator OS Image using Platform Builder for Windows Embedded CE 6.

As Michael says you must use Platform Builder for CE 6.0 to build an Emulator OS image. Once you have an image, create an SDK for the newly created OS and include the image into it. Result would be an SDK.MSI file which you can install on development machines with Visual Studio installed. Platform Builder is not required on these development machines. You can now create applications targetted at your emulator OS with the ability to run them in the emulator.

Your link is not applicable — that’s for Windows CE 5.0.

We’re talking about an emulator using Windows Embedded CE 6.0. Platform Builder 6 ships the required ARM Device Emulator BSP in the box.

So now how do i run my application?? 🙁

some of the portion is developed in windows CE 5.0 and some of its portion is developed in Windows CE 6.0 with .net Compaq framework 3.5.
so everytime i run the application, the emulator gives error.

What kind of error do you get? Please provide all available details like exact error messages, code you’re running.

Have you tried to run your application on real hardware?

I think my reaction to reading this post is «Huh?» How can one application be written to target two operating systems that are significantly different. What you’re saying sounds to me something like «My application partially runs on the Mac using OS X and partially on Windows 7.» That doesn’t make any sense without a lot more information. Since you’re posting to a managed code forum, we assume that the application is written to target the .NET Compact Framework. You should tell us what version of the .NET Compact Framework you need/want to build against.
