Microsoft windows sdk installation failed

Installation of Windows 7 SDK on Windows 10 failed.

I am trying to install the Windows 7 64-bit SDK on a Windows 10 64-bit System. Why? Because I need to build a legacy application.

Let me first say that Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable is NOT installed on my system.

When I attempted to install the SDK I got this message box:

I pressed OK and followed the prompts with this result:

I went back again and used the link http://go.mcirosoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=187668 all I got was this «Oops!» message:

During the SDK installation I did click on the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable so that it would be included in the installation.

The log file contains these installation errors:

5:43:07 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2018:

Visual Studio 2010 is NOT installed on my system. Visual Studio 2012 and Visual Studio 2017 are installed on my system.

How do I install the Windows 7 64-bit SDK on my Windows 10 64-bit system.

Windows SDK v7.1 won’t install on i7-3840QM Win 7 Pro 64bit

After installing .Net Framework 4 version 4.0.30319 I’ve been trying to install Windows SDK v7.1. I’ve tried installing from the Microsoft web interface multiple times as well as by downloading and burning 3 different CD’s from ISO images. I’ve also tried a clean boot and install through the web interface but had identical results. The first difference I see when comparing with a successful install I did on an i7-2500k processor is on line 11 of the SDKSetup_7.0.6918.0.log file. Lines 10-12 of the i7-2500k log file (successfully installed) read:

Config_Products_DetermineMSIFeatureState_Begin: MSI Feature: WinSDK.1631
Config_Products_DetermineMSIFeatureState: MSI Feature: WinSDK.1631; Installed: Local; Request: Unknown;
and the log from this failed install on an i7-3840QM reads (differences underlined):

Config_Products_DetermineProductState_Begin: Product: Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7
Config_Products_DetermineProductState: Product: Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7; Installed: Unknown;
Windows Installer reported no registered source locations for the WinSDKproduct.

The final error message in the log is not very helpful since the file was not installed:

Windows SDK Setup (failed): Installation of the «Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7» product has reported the following error:

Please refer to Samples\Setup\HTML\ConfigDetails.htm document for further information.

The log file when installing from the GRMSDKX_EN_DVD.iso is essentially identical to the one generated by the web interface.

The log file when installing from either GRMSDK_EN_DVD.iso or GRMSDKIAI_EN_DVD.iso aborts quickly with the message:

Setup could not find the file WinSDK_amd64\WinSDK_amd64.msi at any of the specified source locations

I’m stumped. Is it just me or are others having problems installing on the new Ivy Bridge chips?

Installation of Windows SDK failed on Windows 7 x64. «installation failed with return code 5100»

I try and install the SK and it fails for both the Web installer and the ISO>DVD route. Same error each time:

12:22:50 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2012: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\Setup\SFX\vcredist_x64.exe installation failed with return code 5100

The following lines are less than helpful because they suggest going to a place I don’t have.

Any ideas what might be worng? The rest of the log file is too big for this message but I can send it to anyone who can help.

“Installation Failed” when installing Microsoft Windows SDK 7.1

The operating system of my laptop is Windows7x64. Whenever I install MatlabR2013b on it, this message is shown at the end of installation process:

Your installation may require additional configuration steps.

1.The following products require a supported compiler :

MATLAB Compiler 5.0

MATLAB Builder NE 4.2

MATLAB Builder JA 2.3

MATLAB Builder EX 2.4

Simulink Coder 8.5

MATLAB Coder 2.5

2.To configure Real-Time Windows Target you must type rtwintgt -setup in a MATLAB command window.

About the first part of the message above, I viewed the provided link and I understood that I should install Microsoft Windows SDK 7.1 and Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.7 for the above components to be executable.
There’s no problem with JDK installation but whenever I try to install SDK downloaded from here, it encounters the following error:

A problem occurred while installing selected Windows SDK components.

Installation of the «Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7» product has reported the following error: Fatal error during installation.

Please attempt to resolve the problem and then start Windows SDK setup again. If you continue to have problems with this issue, please visit the SDK team support page at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=130245.

Click the View Log button to review the installation log.

To exit, click Finish.

What is the problem and what should I do?
I have searched a little but I have neither Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 2010 SP1 (version greater than 10.0.30319) nor .NET Framework 4.5 (also bundled with Visual Studio 2012 or later) installed on my computer

Then what do you think my problem is?
What should I do to fix it?

About the second part I have asked another question.

I tried to install it again. This time it produced the following error:

I’ve a shared the log file here. It’s a text file but it is shown as an audio file when downloading. Please open it with Notepad.

Error when installing windows SDK 7.1

I’ve run into an error when installing the Windows SDK that I’ve seen posted around the Internet, but none of the solutions are working for me. Here is the log I’m getting

When I try to run vcredist_x64 separately, I get this error:

Now, as per every solution I’ve read about this online, I’d uninstall the redistributable and continue with the installation. The problem is that I don’t have any VC++ 2010 redistributables installed (only 2005 and 2008). The only thing besides the main program is something called Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express Prerequisites x64 — ENU . Uninstalling this has no effect on the errors I receive. There’s something on my computer that’s telling the SDK I have this redist installed, but I’m not sure what. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Edit: This problem persists even when I completely uninstall Visual C++ 2010. What else can I do to remove all traces of this software from my machine?

Edit 2: After searching the registry a bit, I’ve found that NI installs its own visual c++ 2010 redistributable with one of its programs, but it isn’t included in the «Add or Remove Programs» list. I’ve uninstalled this and hopefully the sdk will install properly.

Edit 3: No luck, still getting the same error. I can find other 2010 redistributables in the registry, but trying to execute the uninstall string manually just tells me that I can only run it on installed packages. This would be much simpler if I knew how the vcredist finds currently installed redistributions.
