Question

Can any give me an idea about «windows server 2012» Service Pack 1.

«Windows Server 2012 R2» is not free upgrade like «windows 8» to «windows 8.1».

So, People need Service Pack 1 of Windows Server 2012.

Answers

Instead of ServicePacks, MS are releasing an «Update Rollup» on a regular basis:

There were no service packs issued for Windows server 2012. Windows Server 2012 R2 is the next release of the server OS and, as you note, it is not a free upgrade.

I am afraid there is no Windows Server 2012 SP1 available, technically never has been released. A similar thread here:

When was the Windows Server 2012 SP1 released

Hope this helps

Whatever MS is thinking > what I understood with my little knowledge> There should be a Service Pack of each and every product (till the product life cycle) after One to One & half year with complete cumulative update.

The simple logic is > Say I am an IT Help Desk > I installed a fresh windows 7 with service pack 1 to 10 desktop today. Now there are many update released since w7_SP1. My organization doesn’t allow open internet connection to our user> or I have multiple internal servers which are connected internally> but none of them are connected to outer world> I have to update my servers and client desktop!

I have to deploy each update to all of them (WSUS or batch install . )> It is much more easier to deploy SP1 as a single file.

Thank You all & DonPick for your reply. Something is better than nothing!
