Sorry, I got nothing else. 🙁

That could be it OR/AND the libraries provided with my package are not compatible with an updated version of that particular library.

Safest thing to do is to go to the game’s page: https://www.gog.com/game/mount_blade_warband and install all the packages listed in the system requirements area. Installing them from the package manager you’re almost sure it will work.

I have been trying to get Warband to run on Linux Mint 18 64bit (Mate).

Either the start.sh or warband.sh scripts lead to complaints about missing libraries — it seems to be missing pretty much _every_ library. I looked for the ones it complained about and found all of them in shared Steam directories. So for a test, I copied all of them over to the Warband /game directory. The game would start this way, but the menu fonts were all garbled.

Something is in serious need of updating here, and I have a feeling that the library collection you provided won’t be enough to fix this for the version I tested with. I opened a support ticket about the issue.

I’ve created a patch for Mint 18 which can be found at the Following Link. (See my updated Main Post for details.)

I suggest you delete the game and reinstall it before applying this patch.

Mount & Blade: Warband

I jsut installed the new Linux version. It works great so far. Actually, it runs much smoother than it did when I installed it on vual booted Windows.

However, when I try to run the settings panel (clicking Play, chosing configure) simply nothing happens.

Anyone else having this issue, or know how to fix it?

Thanks! That works for the time being, but I hope it gets fixed soon.

This also revealed aniother problems however, like that the only non-wide resolution listed is 1024*768, and my true resolution, that is 1280*1024 is not there. 🙁

sudo apt-get install libqt4-gui:i386

There is no separate GUI package on Arch Linux, only «lib32-qt4» which is installed.

Also, running «mbw_config_linux» directly DOES work for me, only when I chose configure after clicking the Play vutton in Steam, is what does nothing.

Give me a moment to start Steam from terminal and see if I get a meaningful error.

title:[ubuntu 14.04 64bit][linux]mount & blade warband config launcher NOT start[updated]
text:

about the stupid issue of steam ver. of mount & blade warband.
on linux, it works actually.

but as the pinned post of this sub list of the forum. you should 1st:
1. install the qt4 series (there are 4 of them in the ubuntu software center) , when your ubuntu go internet, install them all. and by default, looks like , ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit does not have qt5, so you once installed qt5, you should uninstall qt5 first, then install qt4.

2. this game «mount & blade warband linux version (steam distribute)» only supports 32bit environments. if you want to play it on ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 BIT. you have install 32bit libs required by the game, otherwise, the configure launcher won’t start. and no error informing you.
but, if you go the game directory (of the steam client), you may find
mb_warband.sh

mbw_config_linux
and, if you use cntrl-alt-t to call out gnome console, and use CD command to go to the directory of the game, use sh mbw_config.sh

you can see the error is about «can’t find xxxxxx files» mostly they are some xxxx.so.xx files.

Читайте также:  Количество пользователей mac os 2021

but one interesting issue is that, ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit DOES have those xxxx.so files as libs files installed.

so i guess the issue is , the game itself developed under 32bit linux environments, no 64bit support at all!

yes, i guess i am right somewhat. use cntrl-alt-t to call out gnome console,
use » sudo apt-get install xxxx» command to install all the required packages from the game.

the required packages are

libaudio.so.2 from package libaudio2:i386

libglib-2.0.so.0 from package libglib2.0-0:i386

libpng12.so.0 from package libpng12-0:i386

libfreetype.so.6 from package libfreetype6:i386

libXi.so.6 from package libxi6:i386

libXrender.so.1 from package libxrender1:i386

yes, by default, ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit, supports multi-arch, so , just use «sudo apt-get install xxxxx» command to install them, of course i386(32bit ver. ) of the lib files.

then, with qt4(64bit default) installed, then rightclick the game on steam client, choose «configure mount & blade warband». then the configure window would prompt out.

then you can now use cheat in the game.

so, that means, even that you have qt4 installed with ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit, you still can NOT start the mount & blade warband configure launcher. you have to installed all the required 32bit libs ! then run it.

good luck, guys.
(sorry for my poor English)

Trading, carrying out quests, becoming a mercenary, raiding caravans and peasant parties, stealing cattle from villages, capturing prisoners and ransoming them or selling them into slavery, and many more.

Yes, there are many ways to raise your own army. You may recruit basic warriors from villages for a low price. However, these will usually be poorly trained novices. Another option is visiting taverns within the towns, and hiring seasoned mercenaries. These hired soldiers will be well trained, but offer their services at a higher price. Also located in the taverns are heroes who may be convinced to join your party after you talk to them. Heroes are very useful since they do not die in battles, and keep accumulating experience, just like your own in-game character. They also add their skills like engineering and first aid to your warband.

Nobles, guild-masters, and village elders offer quests. You may visit nobles (lords, ladies, and kings) in their prestigious castle halls or find them roaming the countryside with their war parties. You may meet guild-masters in towns, and elders in villages.

While Mount&Blade is an RPG game, there are no magical elements involved. This means there is no mana or spells in the game instead, you get a realistic medieval setting.

The items themselves won’t get stronger. So if you’re packing a tempered heavy bastard sword and full plate at level 10, their stats won’t change when you’re at level 40. However, your level bonuses will make you stronger progressively. For example, when you allocate more points to your power strike, your swing will become more effective.

Yes now with our expanded political system found only in Warband, you can become a king! You can even promote your companions to vassals by granting them land.

Yes. You will need some amount of ‘Renown’ points and a good relation with the king, before a king may accept you as his vassal. The easiest way to earn renown points is by winning tournaments or battles. Check your renown points at any time by clicking on the «Reports» button. Once a king takes you on as his vassal, he may grant you villages, castles and towns that you conquered in combat.

In a word, no, Single player campaign is a rich sandbox environment for you to rule.

Yes. You select your faction and equipment, and then engage your enemies live online.

All available troop commands are listed in the Options menu. Keyboard shortcuts are also availableto select troops and issue commands to your selections:

  • F1: Hold Ground
  • F2: Follow Me
  • F3: Charge
  • F4: Dismount/Mount

  • How much food does my army need?

Every 14 game hours, three soldiers in your army will consume one unit of food.

Training Grounds help you practice your own skills. Additionally, you may also train your troops at Training Grounds. If you are short on training points and/or are having trouble keeping your men alive, pay a few visits to Training Grounds. However as you and your troops grow in skill, Training Grounds will become less effective

The AI level setting has no effect on experience points. However, the AI level setting does determine how good your enemies are at conducting combat. Higher AI levels will result in smarter opponents.
