у меня стима нет, ни разу не использовал, на этом вашем в игры не играю, но это будет хороший повод исправить такое положение — если сабж выйдет под этот ваш.

Сам Warband работает на SteamOS + Linux , это обычный линукс + установленный Steam?

В самом Viking Conquest заявлен cross-platform multiplayer, так что надежда есть?

А я уж думал, что принципиально новая.

Хотя с другой стороны сразу понятно, что пойдёт.

Мамкин цинник, папкин интраверт.

я конкретно о жанре игры и стилистике

я выделаю три жанра для «идиотов»:
1.футбольные симуляторы(именно всякие фифы и подобные,про казуальные я не говорю)
2.игры «клоны» какоголибо вида спорта(вело/саночный/даже Ф1/. опятьже говорю про многобюджетные клоны «для взрослых»,не про казуальные)
3.игры с идиотским зажатым в рамки игровым миром,причем эти ограничения/механика взяты из реального мира и преподносятся как достоинство игры(я не говорю про alien(новый),или хороры/ужастики)

все такие игры стилистически очень ограничены и игровой процесс. сомнительный

вот взять ГТА-шикарная игра с кучей возможностей и многообразным геймплеем
взять симулятор Ф1/фифу/этотже самый варбанд-очень ограниченный геймплей с ничем не выдающимися декорациями,ничего интересного

тоесть я за активные игры с яркими декорациями

мортал комбат с выбором оружия(таких игр полно,я обобщил)-берем что угодно мочимся комбы суперпушки суперкасты. ггвп

Там-же будет отдельный бинарник, нет?
Без лодок в мультиплеере — ненужно!

Mount and blade viking conquest linux

— You need to update your warband and to lastest version.
— When you post your issue, you add your rgl_log.txt and rgl_config.txt (you can find this in warband main folder and in your documents\warband folder) and rgl_config.txt (My Documents/Mount & Blade: Warband) This will help us to know your problem.
— If you have textures problem, you try to «Textures on Demand» on/off in config_log.txt
— Having background programs running. (This eats up a ton of memory even if they aren’t being used). Sometimes your game can crash because you run out of system resources (mainly video memory), could you try closing all other applications you have open in your background, like browsers and so on.
-If your VC doesnt load you remember go to documents, and delete the mount and blade warband folder there, not the saved games one, but the other one, you could have a corrupted config file. Then, reinstall your game.
-On 32bit system, your processor cannot take more than 4GB of RAM. 32bit Windows won’t let you use more then 2GB per process (VC, for example). This mean that you need to low your game configuration in order to play smooth (see below configuration)
-EXE doest work — Verify Game Cache in properties.

We are detecting that most problems are related to configuration. Some tips that could help you (config_log.txt (you can find this in warband main folder and in your documents\warband folder) ):

Note:
Enabling force_vsync. Also, be sure to disable HDR mode (those options enabled together tend to cause performance issues)

Warband configuration isn’t usable for Viking Conquest as VC demand on more resources.

1. Steam Ram problems:

Steam may be forcing compatability mode on you. Turn that off to avoid memory issues.

when I used fairly modest overclock settings with somewhat miserly voltage settings that were stable in other games I had occasional crashes while playing Warband. Once I reverted to stock settings I no longer had any issues. It seems like Warband requires a bit more generous voltage for stability at a given frequency than some other games.

1. Update your drivers, specially graphic card.
2. If above option doesnt work:

You need to go into your files and delete the rgl_config files as the rgl log if you upgraded still reads the prior OS.

FIX THAT WORKED FOR ME
I went to Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager I then clicked on »Display adapters» icon which dropped down to show two more icons then checked for updates and after updating it now works.

I learnt about the fix from this post on the forums, how to fix is at the bottom of the page.

2.3 EVGA problem

I’ve noticed a lot of people are still having issues with Warband in Windows 10 even after trying all the fixes (reinstalling the game and drivers, running as admin, etc.) But I’ve recently found out what might be the source of their crashing. Running EVGA Precision X with Windows 10 causes incompatibility issues with certain games, Mount & Blade: Warband being one of them. So if your game is crashing on Windows 10, closing EVGA Precision X if you have it open will fix your game.

Do you have AMD graphics cards? driver update could cause some crash. Go back from 15.2 to 14.5 should fix the problem with Warband.

Issue: «the selected module does not support direct x 7 model»
Fix: open your «module.ini» in your warband folder and change supports_directx_7 to 1.

Questions that can help:

1) Did you try to do a full reinstall of your game? If you use Steam -> delete local content (Steam UI, right click on game). Then delete the folder manually. Reinstall your game. Verify cache (Steam UI).

2) How is your pc? Did you check min configuration?

3) What is your pc specs? Hardware and software

4) Make sure you have at least 2 GB of free RAM. If you are running other softwares check using any program that shows your computer CPU and Memory.

5) Are you using the latest version of warband? 1.168+

6) Can you still load native (Warband)?

7) Any other modules/mods you have. can you load them?

8 ) Did you create a thread on support subforum and did you post your txt config files there?

9) Tutorial: Take screenshot when reporting problem (Thanks Philippe):

Take a screenshot by hitting F12.

When you’re in Steam, in the extreme upper left-hand corner of your screen there are five words in small case across the top of the screen: Steam, View, Friends, Games, Help. Just below those words are four words in a much larger font (Store, Library, Community, and whatever name you’re using on your Steam account).

Clicking on the small word View will give you a drop-down menu.

Three items from the bottom of that menu is the word Screenshots.

If you click on that and get a more or less blank pop-up, look in the upper left-hand corner of the pop-up and use another drop-down menu with the names of the games that Steam thinks you’ve been trying to take screenshots of.

You’ll probably see one or more thumbnails of screenshots you’ve taken. Click on one of them so that it is highlighted (my version of Steam highlights in blue).

A larger version of the thumbnail will appear on the right-hand side of the pop-up.

In the lower right-hand corner of the pop up there’s a button labelled view on-line.

If you click on that you’ll get a larger version of the image in another pop-up.

At the bottom of that pop-up is another button labeled share.

Click on the share button and you’ll get yet another pop-up, with an address field in the middle of it. Copy that address field and paste it into your next post and an image will appear.

If you think that was absurdly complicated, you’re right and it’s probably giving you a headache.

Whoever designed Steam’s image posting system should have their head examined after they get the Rube Goldberg award for bad design.

On a normal site you would just take a screenshot by pressing the print screen button on your keyboard and uploading it to an image hosting site. The image host would give you a link to that particular image and you’d be ready to go. Unfortunately you can’t take normal screenshots in games that you’re playing on Steam (or at least I haven’t figured out how to), so you have to resort to Steam’s rather bizarre and complicated way of doing things.

About the mod

I’m Jarl Lightwolf, founder and main developer of Lightwolf Games, I’m a freelancer 3d artist, I work mainly creating 3d models, textures, animations and concept art for bannerlord and warband mods and others games.

I hope to answer some questions from you in this article about my mod Chronicles of Dark Ages: Conquerors (CoDAC).

Q — What is the mod’s theme and what will it focus on?
A — The mod will change the period of the native game to the year 1065/1066. The player will be able to choose to help one of the 3 big names of the time (Harald «Hardrada» Sigurdsson, Harold Godwinson and William, «The Bastard / Conqueror») to take the crown of England or to follow his own path to reach power and change the course of history.

Q — Will the mod be based on the native game or another mod?
A — I’m using the Balance Mod created by Hooded Horse as the basis for my mod, it is a great mod made with great care and dedication by Hooded Horse and everyone who contributed to the creation of the mod. Balance Mod brings many improvements to the Viking Conquest and is one of the most complete mods out there for the game, I recommend that you play it if you haven’t already.

Q — Ok, but what this mod will bring to the native game?
A — The mod will feature new models for body, head, hair, clothing, armor and weapons, all with new and optimized textures. I will also add new animations and variations of animations created from scratch by me, from simple walking to new death animations. The mod will also have a new font, new loading screens, menus, music, sound effects, and a new character creation system that will replace the height option, adding the «weight» factor to the game. The mod now has a male and a female skeleton to correct the way animations are used in female characters.

Q — Why this mod have just a few updates?
A — I live in Brazil and my financial condition does not allow me to focus only on my mod, I am 29 years old and had a family to support, so my priority is my work, after this is the mod. I only have Sunday to make the mod, so I work from Monday to Saturday, and take the only rest day I have to create models, textures, animations and other things for the mod. I am a perfectionist and very demanding with what I do, so I only publish something after I am sure of the quality of what I have done. Modeling, texturing, animation and the implementation of this in the game is something that I spend a lot of time doing and remaking. I also try to answer everyone in the comments, read the comments is something that motivates me to continue working on the mod, the only part that I still can’t answer satisfactorily is about new mechanics of the mod, because I am not a coder, my code skills allows me to change everything in the game visually but doesn’t allow me to add new complex features yet, so this part I’ll postpone for later, I’ll change the game visually first and then focus on features.

Q — What have you done for the mod?
A — New model of body, head, skeleton for man and woman, textures for both are also finalized, including the remasters of native face textures. New facial options in character creation are also made (not implemented yet). New main menu, new loading screens, new font added.

Q — What are you doing at the moment?
A — My focus today is to finish all the tunics and armor of the main factions, finish implementing the new options for character creation, add the new animations for the shield and test the kite shields (Norman and Saxon). I’ll post pictures when I finish each step.

Q — What about the release date? This year yet?
A — I really wanted to launch the mod this year, but I don’t want to launch it unfinished and unpolished, so due to the little time I have to work on it, I believe it will only be possible to launch it during the first half of 2021.

During my free time, I’m also helping Alek with the new version of Armor Mod, this mod changes all the armor in the game and is also focused on optimizing the 3d models and textures of the game.

Balance Mod 13.0 is close to being finished, and looking for people interested in playing and giving feedback on an advance version (available for download on the Discord: Discord.gg ).

A few examples taken from the changelog:

Unique bodyguards recruited by some 40 lords (Harald Fairhair gets his berserkers from the sagas, Alfred the Great gets some of the reworked infantry old captain, many norse lords get vikingr from their place of origin, etc)

Tournaments reworked (each of the 21 factions has a unique weapon loadout creating a different tactical experience and reflecting cultural tendencies, 50 tournament reward prizes including some artifacts newly added to the game and unobtainable elsewhere, very rare chance of a visit from one of 4 deities (Odin, Freyja, Loki, Thor) after a victory giving a bonus)

Many new troops added and lines expanded:

— Frisians get 5 new units, including infantry using the newly added Frankish throwing axes, and cavalry riding Frankish Stallions in their final upgrade (2 new models, a tad slower but stronger in charge normal mounts) (basically having the Frisians adopt a little Frankish military influence to introduce added variety in troops).

— Britons get tier 4 and 5 elite cavalry to go along with some general strengthening of the line (Briton military weakness is now reflected in the AI troop recruiting tables, not the units themselves, leaving the Briton player the chance to revive their glory without feeling like they are using subpar units).

— Norse troops can now “go viking” and upgrade to vikingr at points (increases the ship sailing speed boost and comes with more immediate power at cost of higher wages and less long term potential), with an integrated line including berserkers and ulfhedinns (reworked to differentiate between the two) and ship captains (now with a special x4 ship speed bonus), and full line of warrior archers (old norse warrior archers gets a tier 3 lesser version underneath, and two tier 5 upgrades taking different paths), along with a tier 5 upgrade added to the tier 4 dane axe warrior.

— Swedish troop tree introduced (accessible through mercs/vikingr only), including a final upgrade possibility to Varangian mercenaries (ie, Swedish from Kievan Rus) riding 2 new horse models of large ponies/stocky horses (more maneuverable and tougher than normal horses, but a little slower). Varangians very rarely show up in mercenary pools in Norway and Denmark only. Somewhat inspired by the Varangian Guard forming in the Byzantine empire around this time (if Varangians went south to become mercs, why not west as well) and borrowing from later records of how Kievan Rus military often worked (elite mounted bodyguard supported by local levies)

— Newly added Danish and Norwegian mercs appearing in taverns throughout map. Vikingr are sometimes also available for hire in Norway and Denmark (local warriors looking for a captain, and helps balance the previously added polarized religions by allowing pagan players to have stronger recruiting in the home regions of Denmark and Norway).

— Female warrior line increased in strength greatly by addition of tier 4 and 5 units. Equipment and appearances reworked to be a mixture of all cultures rather than anglo/saxon focused (since they are player only and can be recruited from any location).

— Irish get a tier 5 sword/javelin skirmisher and a new tier 4 warrior inserted before the champion, upgrading the champion and pushing them out to join their mounted bodyguards as branching tier 5 options. Picts get a tier 5 crossbowmen and their special hornmen at tier 3 upgraded to be better javelin skirmishers, and then the standard bearer moved to be an upgrade to the hornmen.

— Saxons get some chance of mail armor at tier 4, and new tier 4 and 5 long axe wielding (1.5 handed) troops for breaking shields (lower wages and faster upgrades than normal bodyguards).

— Angles get some chance of mail armor at tier 4, and new tier 4 Northumbrian Mercenaries and tier 5 Captains (very skilled spearmen, but very expensive, as they are mercenaries, and somewhat worse armor than mainline spearmen), representing the disarray in the area and displaced warriors, and harkening back to anglo saxon mercenary past in arrival in Britain.
