Установка драйверов Mustek 1200 UB Plus на линукс и XP

Стоял у дочки Mustek 1200 UB, который по техническим причинам надо было заменить на Mustek 1200 UB Plus. Оказалось, что это не просто разные сканеры, а вообще разные сканеры. На компьютере установлено две операционки: Linux Mint и Windows XP. Ставим драйвера:

Под linu mint я пользовался инструкцией. Там только одна неточность была mkdir -p надо было 🙂

sudo apt-get install sane
sudo mkdir -p /usr/share/sane/gt68xx

Дале создаём файл mustek1200UB.sh с содержанием:

#search the string in file and replace it
sudo sed -i.backup -e ‘s/^#override «mustek-scanexpress-1200-ub-plus»/override «mustek-scanexpress-1200-ub-plus»/’ gt68xx.conf
sleep 2
echo «Device should be ready for use!»

Делаем его исполняемым и исполняем:

sudo chmod +x mustek1200UB.sh
./mustek1200UB.sh

Как бы после этого под линуксом сканер уже работает.

Под windows xp я пользовался готовым пакетом. Скачать и указать этот каталог в качестве источника для установки драйверов.

An easy, cut and paste way to get The Mustek 1200 UB Plus USB Scanner or one of it’s clones working in Ubuntu Breezy through Ubuntu Maverick and beyond.

Open the Terminal(Applications>Accessories>Terminal), copy and paste the following one at a time.

To get to the proper directory:

That’s all there is to it, now you can go to Applications>Graphics>XSane Image Scanner(or SimpleScan) to scan your images.
Enjoy!!

The only thing better would be a script to do it for you

i tried but it didn’t work for me, i keep getting the «no devices available» message. i have the MUSTEK PLUG-N-SCAN 1200 USB. it was still in the box (and wrapped in plastic) when i bought it last week and i’ve got the cd’s that came with it, but i can’t seem to figure out how to make the thing work with my ubuntu 6.06. just to see if it works i tried it on my old windows98 laptop and it installed and scanned well.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try loading sane and xsane, then add the libsane and libsane-extras files. I needed these to get my Mustek model 4800 running.

my solution: buy another scanner for five dollars, give the other scanner to a friend.

I am trying to get my Mustek Scanmagic 1200USB working.

Bus 004 Device 003: ID 055f:0003 Mustek Systems, Inc. ScanExpress 1200 USB

I have followed the above instructions but Xsane reports «no devices available»

found USB scanner (vendor=0x055f, product=0x0003, chip=MA-1017) at libusb:004:003
# Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by
# SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend’s manpage.

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages)

I am not sure what to do next — any ideas?

BearPaw это линейка сканеров от Мустека а не сам вендор. Так что скорее всего все правильно.

п.с. а файлик с драйвером можно куда-нибудь залить? У меня диска от сканера нет. Заранее благодарен!

У меня точно такая же модель сканера, недавно решил установить на компьютер с Mandriva Linux 2010.1 Free. Установка проходит нормально, мастер настройки оборудования предлагает автоматически скачать файл прошивки для сканера, я соглашаюсь, он скачивает, копирует в /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/
(права на файл проверил, выставлены правильно). Но после установки при запуске XscanImage (или при сканировании из любой другой программы) выдаёт сообщение следующего содержания:

Не могу разобраться, что неправильно сделал

The only problem I have with this device is installation after upgrading OS (I prefer clean install). It is so simple to forget and I’ve decided to write a little script, so I don’t need to search the web every time. And someone even might find it useful.

• To install sane and make directory, type in Terminal:

• Plug in your scanner.
• Copy and paste the script content in any text editor and save it to Home folder as mustek1200UB.sh

Script:

• To make the script executable, open Terminal and type:

• and finally execute the script:

That’s it. Scanner is ready to use.
