macOS High Sierra / Mojave / Catalina Compatibility of Native Instruments Hardware
This article provides information about the compatibility of Native Instruments hardware products with macOS 10.13 (High Sierra), macOS 10.14 (Mojave), and macOS 10.15 (Catalina) operating systems. For compatibility information with earlier OS X systems, read this article.
Important Notes
- Only current generation class-compliant devices are supported in macOS systems. These devices do not require a driver installation and work simply by connecting them to the computer.
- If a device is not listed below, this means it is not supported by the above mentioned macOS systems.
- Most of the hardware products listed below offer a Device Updater to update the firmware installed on your device. We strongly recommend to download and install the latest Device Updater from our Drivers & Other Files page in order to avoid possible functionality issues. Read more about updating the firmware of your device in this article.
macOS 10.15 terminates the operability of some NI legacy hardware. This includes MASCHINE MK1, MASCHINE MIKRO MK1, TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 / 4 / 8 DJ, TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 MK1, and TRAKTOR S2 / S4 / X1 MK1.
The workaround for macOS 10.12 — 10.14 (as described in this article) does not work on macOS 10.15. If you still want to use these legacy devices, you can only do so on a compatible OS.

This article provides information about the compatibility of Native Instruments hardware products with Mac OS X versions (10.6 — 10.11). For compatibility information with current macOS systems, read this article.
Note: Native Instruments has officially ended support for Mac OS X 10.8 and earlier versions. Please see this article for further details. The chart info below is preserved for reference if using an older system.
The cells on each table below show the required driver version of a NI hardware product (row) for a given OS X version (column). Once you have identified the compatible driver version for your operating system, you can download it from our Drivers & Other Files page.
Note: If a specific driver is not listed on the Drivers & Other Files page, it is available on the UPDATES page. For more information about downloading an update from the UPDATES page, please read this article.

Important Notes
- Newer NI devices do not require a driver. The corresponding cells in the below tables are identified as class compliant. Read more about OS X class compliant drivers and NI devices in this article.
- Some devices additionally offer a Device Updater to update the firmware installed on your device. An asterisk ( * ) next to the device name in the tables below indicates that a Device Updater is available. We strongly recommend to download and install the latest Device Updater from our Drivers & Other Files page in order to avoid possible functionality issues. - Some NI devices offer both audio interface and controller functionality. They are summarized in the tables Audio Interface + Controller for each corresponding brand (KOMPLETE, MASCHINE and TRAKTOR) below. These devices may require a driver, Device Updater and Controller Editor installation. Note that any issues observed with these devices should be handled separatedly: If your device is not playing any audio, verify that the correct driver / Device Updater has been installed. If your device is not lightning up when connecting it, verify that the latest Controller Editor version has been installed.
