Обшарил весь форум по subject’у. Возникло несколько вопросов.

1. Bioware раздают оригинальный NWN нахаляву?
2. В чем отличия клиентской и серверной версии NWN?
3. Смогут ли играть в локальной сети два PC с клиентской версией на обоих? Если да, то какова роль серверной версии NWN? Нужны ли будут какие-нибудь ключи и прочее?
4. Какова последовательность установки? Если так как написано на Bioware и все дается нахаляву, то вопросов нет. Качаем ресурсы, установщик, патч и SDL, все ставим и радуемся жизни.
5. HoU и SoU нахаляву не раздаются и поставить их можно будет только с виндовых версий?

1. Почти халява ;). Оригинальные диски все равно понадобятся. Эта «халява» для тех, у кого не работает нормально инсталлер от Локи (недоустанавливает текстуры) — вот и выложено на сайте дополнение с текстурами и мапами в архиве. 2. В контенте и сути. Сервер — это сервер — не для игры, чисто как прокладка для клиентов. Клиент — обычная игра. На 3 CD. 3. Конечно смогут. Серверная часть — для снятия нагрузки с клиентских машин. Или, чтобы организовать сетку из клиенов виндовых, но под управлением линухового сервера (как менее склонного к падениям, чем виндузный) — понятно, почему надежность во главе угла, я думаю. Да — ключи конечно нужны. Игра идет с ключом, который надло вводить при установке. Если ставить с 3 виндовых CD и нейтивного линукс-инсталлера от Локи — ключи вводятся перед установкой в появившемся окне. Если даами-версия (чисто в архиве) — надо файлик самому создать, прописать туда ключ и подкинуть игре. 4. Как написано на биоваре. Только все равно надо еще 3CD английской версии NWN и инсталлеры от Локи. 5. Да. Инсталлерами от того же Локи.

да, там нет эддонов (так что по инету врядли рубанешь)

не понадобятся (мне например не понадобились). на сайте bioware есть файлик nwnresource кажется — весит 1.1Gb — его достаточно.

SDL у них свой (что проблем с совместимостью не было), он автоматом грузится через LD_PRELOAD

единственное для игры потребуются сиди-ключи nwn’а

я случайно второй эддон маковский исошник скачал — все пучком, работает =) Нужные файлы копируешь и fixinstall. По поводу первого эддона — он работает и на версии 1.29, а вот для второго — обязательно проапдейтить nwnclient

Neverwinter – одна из самых лучших онлайн игр 2013 года

Одним из самых успешных игровых онлайн проектов 2013 года является MMORPG Neverwinter. Neverwinter («Невервинтер») – это город, находящийся во Вселенной Forgotten Realms. Как начинающих, так и бывалых игроков поражает красота и величие Невервинтера. Здесь есть место и узеньким переулкам, и огромным базарным площадям. Разработчики сделали город очень уютным.

Преимущества «Невервинтера»

Игра очень проста в освоении, без условностей и ограничений, как это часто бывает в других проектах. Однако это не означает, что вы не должны продумывать каждое свое действие: нужно не только «тупо» нажимать по клавишам клавиатуры, но и «включать» свои мозги. В основе «Невервинтера» лежит так называемая non-target система. Разработчики с большим уважением отнеслись к свободному времени игроков. Именно поэтому одной из особенностей «Невервинтера» является сессионность. Это означает, что за «полчасика» вы можете пройти какой-нибудь квест или подземелье.

Всю «грязную и черную» работу можно поручить наемникам, которые будут добывать для вас опыт и деньги, выполнять мелкие поручения. Таким образом, даже когда вы не играете, ваш герой все равно развивается.

Neverwinter в Linux установка

Первым делом необходимо зарегистрироваться в игре. Сделать это можно перейдя по этой ссылке. К сожалению разработчики так и не реализовали полноценную поддержку игры Neverwinter в линукс, но тем не менее поиграть в можно используя WINE. При этом совсем не обязательно мучатся с установкой и настройкой, поскольку игра присутствует в базе клиента Play On Linux. Все что вам необходимо сделать — это установить Play On Linux (как это сделать расписано здесь), а затем найти в его базе Neverwinter и установить его как и любое другое приложение в PoL. Просто отвечайте на вопросы мастера, а программа установки все сделает сама.

Neverwinter – самая обновляемая игра

Главной «изюминкой» «Невервинтера» является редактор The Foundry. Благодаря ему пользователи буквально каждый день создают свои задания и делятся ими с другими. Поэтому Neverwinter является одной из самых часто обновляемых онлайн игр. За это разработчику можно поставить огромный плюс.

There is quite a lot of guides on this forum and elsewhere on how to make the native client provided by Bioware work on modern linux systems. In this post I want to centralize what I learned trying to make the game work on my laptop running Archlinux. Maybe it woud be useful to others to make it a sticky ?

So, how do I play Neverwinter Nights on Linux?

Depending on your distribution, you have several options:

I recomment using the scripts provided by the fine folks at dotslashplay.it: http://wiki.dotslashplay.it/en/games/neverwinter-nights

There is an AUR package that I just updated to make it work with the newest installer: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/nwn-gog/

You will need to provide the GOG installer files, of course.

What if I don’t use Ubuntu or Arch?

You can also use the Lutris platform, which supports the GOG version of Neverwinter Nights.

I have installed NWN according to dotslashplay.it linked in the post of vaalc4r.
It seems to starting and running without problem.
However I have a few old haks, overrides and saves from a previous game on another computer.
How do I add them to this install?
I have tried just transferring them into the new folder (where there was no override-folder to start with), but nothing happens when I start the game. Not even the portraits that I have created and added shows up when I create a new character.

Any help is appreciated.

your installation works with the play.it scripts? I guess you do not have a Nvida GFX layer? Anyway, I think the new place for portraits, hakpaks and custom pryl lies in your home directory either under .config/neverwinter or .local/share/Neverwinter (mind the dot at the start of the directory name). There you should try to put your files in.

Here are the directories you are looking for, if some are missing you can create them:

I got the game (with the haks and modules) up and running, but the movies don’t play and there is no sound. at all.

It is a bit difficult to run but here are detailed instructions to help you:

For the sound to work here is a «.tar.xz» file containing updated 32bit sound libraries from my own game folder that I found in my root folder and just copied over to the «lib» and «miles» folders after a lot of trial and error to make the game work in Ubuntu 18.04. Hopefully, even if the ubuntu libraries are updated in the future, the game will still run:

For the movies:
Download and extract nwmovies-master.zip from https://github.com/nwnlinux/nwmovies into the NWN directory.

Download the Linux BinkPlayer (the 32bit version even if linux is 64 bit) and extract it into the nwmovies folder.
