[confirmed] Windows 10 Creator update Cursor & Raw Input issues.

If you are using the latest Windows 10 «Creators» update, then you most likely are experiencing an issue with your Tablet peripheral not working as intended, or your cursor being stuck in the top left of your screen.

This seems to be an issue with Windows Ink & Raw input in the latest Windows update, as having Windows Ink and or Raw input enabled causes the cursor to not work for most.

Currently the only «fix» or workarounds are to;

    Disable Windows Ink

For Wacom / Huion H430P / Gaomon S620 Tablet Users, there should be a checkbox in your Tablet Driver settings to disable / enable Windows ink. You want to uncheck it.

For Wacom tablets, it is located in the Mapping section of your drivers:

For the Huion H430P and Gamon S620, it is located in the Digital Pen section of your drivers:

For Huion (excluding the H430P) or other Tablets, Please check for a «Support TabletPC» option or checkbox, disable it.

If the driver you are using does not have a checkbox toggle, you may have to follow the steps in the below box named Secondary Method. Just note, this will probably only work with very rare or outdated drivers / tablets. Please look for a Support TabletPC toggle instead. Or install the latest drivers.

  1. Find your tabletconfig.ini in your driver folder.
  • Change SupportINKDisalbe to 0 (Disable) Might be different dependent on language.

If you don’t have a Huion tablet, I’m sure the procedure should be similar. If you can’t figure it out. Try Googling your Tablet and seeing if you can’t find out the info there.

  • Disable Raw Input
If you are using a tablet, you should be keeping your sensitivity to 1x and disabling raw input ingame. If you wish to change your area, please use your tablets drivers to change the active area instead of changing sensitivity.

These «luckily» seem to work a good Majority of the time. If none work, please check the replies to this thread for any other potential fix. It’s also possible your issue is caused by something else, and not this one specifically.

Do remember that having your sensitivity set to anything not 1x will force Raw Input, and so you will have to set your sensitivity to 1x.

If this messed up your Tablet Area, please change the active area in your Tablet Driver Settings instead of using Sensitivity ingame.

This thread serves to show this is a known current issue. Please do not post in this thread unless you have found another Workaround or «Fix», and or have some information that could be useful to this issue.

DO NOT BUMP THIS THREAD WITH «Thanks», «same», or «I have this issue too and none of the fixes work « If none of the fixes work, you can try making a new thread, as it’s possible this is not your issue.

    Curse you Windows 10.

Locked to prevent nonsensical replies, as the Information is still current as is THE FIX for the issue. If you still have trouble after attempting these steps, make a new thread.

I think it’s a .png file so, you’ll have to convert it to a .ico file.
The rest you may need to Google for instructions unless you already know how.

Windows cursor wouldn’t support the effect (cursor trail) as you can’t specify a custom trail image.
It also wouldn’t support the ‘clicking’ effect.

    The basics of it is:
#1: Upload your cursor to here in order to convert from PNG to ICO.
#2: Then drop the converted ICO image into C:\Windows\Cursors
#3: Then go to ‘Control Panel’ > ‘Mouse’ then click the ‘Pointers’ tab.
#4: Select ‘Normal Select’ from the ‘Customize’ field, click Browse and replace it with the ICO image.

I’m not sure whether there’s an option in Windows to change the point origin.

On the ‘Pointer Options’ tab you’ll find ‘Display pointer trails’, but I don’t think that’ll produce the effect you’re after.
However, It wouldn’t be too difficult to create an application which can simulate the same effect (with a user defined trail image).

osu! Windows 60 fps animated cursors

osu! Windows 60 fps animated cursors

Just put together a few animated cursors (rotating at 60 fps) for Windows using the old osu! cursor image and some imagemagick wizardry :v

Easier said than done to post screenshots , but here’s the base image:

    And what you get:

(Recommended to use _slow for normal cursor, _hand for ‘pointer’/link/hand cursor, _busy for background busy cursor)

The final cursor is 32x32px due to Windows limitations (roughly half of the cursor size in osu)

Using it. It is surprisingly smooth. Most novelty cursors I get are choppy, but 60 fps is awesome.

I have not been looking for this.

Neither of I. Can’t say I even thought about this being done ever. Still pretty awesome though, and I’m using these cursors now :p

This may be the first time I actually changed my cursor on Windows 7 now that I think about it

Can you tell me how you got imagemagick to create the cursor? Like pasting the commandline to pastebin.com or something ^^ i would love to have my own cursor (i can post it back here if anyone wants it)

Very late reply but for anyone interested I guess.

Autohotkey to generate rotated frames: (150 w/ multiplier = slow mode, 89 and no multiplier = fast)

Autohotkey to convert frame files to spritesheet

Then I simply loaded the spritesheet into Axialis CursorWorkshop and cast some spells to produce the final .ani

    Mega Cursor Pack

This is it, pack with lots of (over 100) cursors and cursortrails (less than 100) in one pack. Now you can find perfect cursor for yourself.
I can’t take credit for these cursors but I also can’t list all the creators of these cursors because the list would be HUGE

    Here, have a download link:

You can message me if there’s dublicates or if you want more cursors to be added

This sparkled something in me. I believe there should be a thread with a mega «everything» pack. Where it would have a file with cursors, a file with hp bars, a file with hitsounds, a file with etc etc. It would be the bible of DIY skin. This could use something where anyone could upload and add a new file to it, and it would update in real time. I would absolutely love it. Anyone knows what service allows you to do what I mentioned here ^ ?

Looks Pretty Neat. If You don’t mind, Can You make Another Cursor Version with Smaller size (I’d say 40-50px)? *cuz’ I love Small Cursor, and some Pro player tend to use smaller-sized cursor as well

I made smaller cursor versions and I also went ahead and made the cursors and mod icons compatible for SD resolutions.
