Question: Q: Help setting up Panasonic printer on Mac
I’ve just bought a Panasonic MFP (Multi Function Printer) KX-MB1520CX, but can’t use it with my Mac, the Mac doesn’t recognised the Panasonic printer.
I’ve tried using the software and driver from Panasonic, both from the CD included with the printer, and downloaded three version of the software/driver from the web (including from Panasonic official support website).
FYI my Mac is running macOS v10.13.4 (High Sierra), the Panasonic printer driver is v1.15.2
I’ve both tried connecting the printer with USB cable directly to the Mac, and also tried using a print server: TP-Link TL-PS110U, but both have failed.
Anyone know how to make it work?

from what I can tell that Panasonic pinter is no longer supported and Panasonic only developed drivers up to OS X 10.8.
The printing system in OS X has changed over time. Your best bet is to contact Panasonic and see if they have a workaround, which is no guarantee they do.

It’s impossible to ask Panasonic for a new driver, it’ll be like literally talking to a wall.
You’re right, it’s very tricky nowadays to buy a not-so-popular printer, especially if we own a Mac.

Not that tricky. You determine the printer that you want to buy, and then you visit the vendor’s driver site for that printer. If there is no driver specifically stated for the version of macOS that you are running, or driver support stopped years ago, then proceeding to purchase the printer, and forcing old drivers into the operating system will just give you an expensive paperweight.
Panasonic says their latest Mac printer drivers for the KX-MB1520CX are only valid through Yosemite (10.10). They give you a clue that problems are ahead using these drivers with High Sierra.
I also checked the GutenPrint 5.2.14 (current) list of supported printers and the KX-MB1520CX is not among them.

If you use an USB cable with Windows XP, a caution message «The software you are installing for this hardware has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP.» may appear, but you can continue the installation with no problem.
This download file does not include Readiris OCR software. If you want to install it, you must use your CD-ROM included in the product.

If install the multiple models Multi-Function Station in one PC, please install by following steps.
- Execute the add model’s Multi-Function Station installer program.
- Execute the add model’s Multi-Function Station update installer program.
After finish installation, «Select Device» button will be display and can be choose the model by Device List.
Multi-Function Station (Including driver of «Printer», «Scanner» and «PC FAX»)
- Download the file below to the specified folder on your PC’s hard disk, for example C:\TEMP.
- Multi-Function Station will be extracted from the compressed file of ***.exe.
- Double click on, then double click on Install.exe, and follow the instructions. It will take about 5 minutes for Multi-Function Station to be installed automatically.
Multi-Function Station Updates
If you have installed a previous version, you can update it to the latest version.
- Download the file below to the specified folder on your PC’s hard disk, for example C:\TEMP.
- Multi-Function Station will be extracted from the compressed file of ***.exe.
- Double click on, then double click on Install.exe, and follow the instructions. It will take about 1 minute for Multi-Function Station to be installed automatically.
