In Papers, Please you’ll control the immigrants trying to access Arstotzka from the neighboring Kolechia. Unmask terrorists, conspirers, and criminals

After a long war waged for over 6 years, the Communist State of Arstotzka has defeated its neighboring Republic of Kolechia. Now, as an immigration and customs officer, you’ll have to decide who can and cannot enter Arstotska through the border in Grestin.

That’s the story behind Papers, Please, a dystopian adventure in which our task is to control the immigration trying to get into our country. Our mission is to check the documents of the candidates to enter and decide who can come in and who can’t, having to identify amongst them conspirers against the regime, terrorists, and all sorts of criminals trying to cross the border.

The game has different endings, up to twenty depending on the role we wish to take on: we can be a loyal servant to the communist dictatorship for which we work or we can try to cause its death from the inside. For such purpose, we’ll have to pay special attention to both the documentation and the explanations given to us by the people that come to our post.

A game that, despite being set in 1982, is still fully in force.

Papers, Please for Mac transports you to a dystopian city where you play the immigration officer, providing a slow, text-based gameplay that can sharpen your memory skills. Since the gameplay is largely based on text and reading, there’s not much action in this game, and the graphics aren’t too impressive, either. If all your favorite games are shooters, this one isn’t for you. But if you want a different yet captivating gaming experience, you should try it.

When playing Papers, Please you have to pay close attention to the onscreen text instructions. There aren’t many game controls. In fact, all you have to do is click from time to time. You act as an immigration inspector who has to control the flow of people crossing the newly opened border to a fictional communist state, investigating papers to check for country of origin and other relevant details like occupation. You can also inspect individuals using searches and fingerprint systems. The conditions for entry change each day, so being scrupulous is key to mastering the game. Although the gameplay may seem boring, it’s not, provided of course that you like slower games. The graphics are reminiscent of older times, but they go well with the concept of the game. Additionally, the game offers alternate endings, depending on the choices you make while playing.

While it’s not the most attractive or entertaining game out there for those who like high action and eye candy, Papers, Please challenges your attention and memory and gets a thumbs up for originality. If you are interested in a dystopian-themed game that requires close attention to detail, you will like this app.

Война между коммунистической Астотцкой и соседней Колечией, длившаяся шесть лет, только что закончилась, и в результате Арстотцка сумела вернуть себе принадлежащую ей по праву половину пограничного города Грештина.

Вы — инспектор иммиграционной службы, ваша задача — контролировать поток лиц, въезжающих в Арстотцку из Колечии через Грештин. Среди толп иммигрантов, надеющихся найти в стране работу, и прочих визитеров скрываются контрабандисты, шпионы и террористы.

В вашем распоряжении есть только документы, предоставляемые въезжающими, и незатейливые системы проверки, досмотра и снятия отпечатков пальцев, установленные Министерством въезда. С этим небогатым арсеналом вам предстоит решать, кого можно впустить в Арстотцку, кому следует отказать, а кто подлежит аресту.

Papers, Please (Пейперс Плиз) – новая игра в жанре симулятора, которая исполнена в довольно оригинальном стиле, где тебе предстоит сыграть самого настоящего инспектора по делам иммиграции. Здесь ты будешь заниматься тотальным контролем и обследованием вещей граждан. Займись контролем и внимательно проверяйте каждого поступающего на наличие тех или иных запретных предметов. Только ты в праве решать, пропускать эту личность дальше или нет. Чтобы пропустить человека, тебе придется всего лишь поставить особенный штамп как отметку, что все одобрено контролем. Проверяй фотографию в паспорте и тщательно следуй инструкции. Если ты будешь невнимательным, то сможешь в два счета потерять собственную должность и даже родной дом. Следи за тем, чтобы в страну не пробрались контрабандисты, которые провозят незаконную продукцию. Они могут стать для тебя самой большой проблемой, если попадут в полицию.
