people app windows 10

Hello. I have uploaded several times my contact list in the form of a .csv file to the people.live.com site but only two of my contacts appear on the people app. Can anyone please suggest how to fix this.

We would like to ask for additional information. Please provide the following:

• Were there any changes on your computer prior to the issue?
• Are you getting any error messages?

In the meantime, you may run the Windows app troubleshooter. This will automatically diagnosed and fix issues with People app. You may also check this link for some guidelines on how to add or import contacts and other information about People app.

Well I gave an extensive reply to this yesterday, but it has all disappeared! Typical!

More has happened however. I’ve managed to get my contacts list to appear in Mail after a lot of fiddling, but I had to create two identical accounts, one in Mail and one in People. I didn’t have to do this before. The second account seems to be full of Outlook Calendar announcements, although I don’t use or need this. Is this normal? I’m worried that some of my mail will appear in the second duplicate account and I’ll miss it.

However, a more serious problem has occurred. Mail seems to be causing the computer to re-start while I’m using it. I’ve run the «Blue Screen» Troubleshooter but it reports no fault found. It looks like it has a serious bug. I’m thinking of using another mail program but I’d like to uninstall Mail completely, so it doesn’t cause problems. Is this possible?

How to reinstall People App on Windows 10 ?

Try reinstalling all apps:

Open Start Menu and type powershell . right-click on PowerShell and select » Run as Administrator » option.

Now enter the following command:

Get-AppxPackage -allusers | foreach

As per your query, I like to inform you that; People App will be available in the Windows Store.

You need to type Microsoft People, in the search area on Windows store and select Microsoft People app.

How to use & manage People app in Windows 10

The People app in your Windows 10 PC is not just your address book, it also works as a social app where you can stay in touch with your Skype contacts and Outlook contacts at one place. People app in Windows 10 is integrated with Mail and Calendar apps, so you can directly pick a contact from People app and send an email and also the Calendar app automatically shows all your friends’ birthday and other important dates. In this post, we will learn about how to use and manage People app in Windows 10.

Windows 10 People app

Windows 10 People app lets you add, edit, change, remove contacts in People App Pin Contacts to Start Screen, send email, Switch to Mail or Calendar App, etc. Let us see how to do it.

Add contacts in People App

While the app automatically adds all your contacts, but you can also add your contacts manually or import them from other accounts. Open People app on your Windows 10 PC and click on Settings

• Open People app on your Windows 10 PC and click on Settings from the narrow right panel.
• Tap on +Add an account and chose which account you want to add in the app.
• Follow the screen instruction and you are done.

You can also add contacts manually by typing their contact details like name, email address, postal address, etc.

• Open People app and click on + symbol near Contacts.
• Fill in the required details and click on Save.

Please note that People app no longer supports Facebook integration which means you will no longer be able to access your FB contact directly from People app.

Edit a contact in People App

• Open People app.
• From Search Box, open the contact you want to edit.
• You will see the contact details in the right panel.
• Click on Edit icon and edit or add the details you want to.
• Click on Save before you exit.

To change which Contacts you see

• People app by default display all your contacts from your contact list, however, the app lets you choose which contacts you want to see. Only the contacts you choose will be displayed and other contacts will be hidden.
  Open People app and swipe in from the right edge to open Settings.
• Click on Filter Contact List and adjust according to your own preferences.
• Click on Done before you exit.

Pin Contacts to Start Screen

You can pin your frequently contacted friends as a tile on your Start Screen for quick access. You can then send a text message, email, call or chat to that contact by tapping on the tile directly. You can also call them on Skype right from here.

• Open the People app from your Start Screen and tap on the contact you want to Pin at Start.
• On the top right corner, there is an icon to Pin the contact.
• Confirm and you are done.

Remove an Account from People app

You can anytime delete or remove any of your accounts from the People app. This just removes that account from Peoples app and all your contacts with that account are intact. Make sure you don’t remove your Microsoft account, doing so will remove all your accounts from Calendar, Mail, People and Messaging app/

• Open People app from your Start Screen.
• Swipe in the right edge and open Settings.
• Under Add an account tab, you can see all your linked accounts.
• Double tap on the account you want to remove.
• Click on Delete this account and click on Save.

Switch to Mail or Calendar App

• Mail and Calendar app are integrated with People app.
• Click on the relevant icons and you can switch to any of these apps directly.
