I saw another post on this (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions . ed-767493/) and I followed post #2, but it still asks for a cd.
I’m trying to install the kde-full metapackage.

I installed debian from a liveCD loaded onto a thumb drive. I wiped the thumb drive so that I could use it for general media storage, so I can’t simply mount the image I used to install debian. Is there a way of telling it to just download the information from the internet, or is there a place I could download the image it’s looking for?

Want me to give you the contents of my sources.list file, in case I did something wrong?

Oh dasein, you just don’t sugarcoat your answers do you? If this was a forum where «humanity» is of primary concern you would be censured for trying to get people to think things through on their own. But, I digress .

Did you also read posts 6,7,8 in that thread, update is probably necessary too?

But sure, post your sources list if you want and think it might be helpful, no need to ask first. It’s always good to give as much information as you think might be necessary at the beginning so we have as good an idea as possible about the problem and don’t have to guess or wait. That can sometimes help you to get an answer quicker.

Проблемы с установкой Debian с USB

Добрый вечер. Пытался я установить Debian с образа на usb через графическую версию установщика. В один момент мне выбило сообщение со следующим текстом: «/media/cdrom/: Вставьте диск с меткой «Debian GNU/Linux 10.3.0 Buster — Official amd64 NETINST 20200208-12:07» в устройство «/media/cdrom/» и нажмите [Enter].» Нашёл я, значится, на просторах интернета аналогичную проблему при установке через консоль, где советовали отредактировать «/etc/apt/sources.list». Однако у себя я не нашел не только самого файла «sources.list», но и папки «/etc/apt», что привело меня в ступор. Буду очень признателен за помощь.

Насколько я знаю, эта проблема уже давно решена при установке с usb (сам так устанавливаю). Где именно брал образ? Как записывал на флешку?

Уточняющие вопросы:
Гдя брали образ записанный на usb? На debian.org?
На каком этапе установки появляется сообщение об ошибке?
До разметки HDD/SSD, установщик предагает настроить сетевое подключение, подключились?
После разметки предлагает установить и настроить apt, вы согласились?

Плюсую вот этого.

На неделе пробовал устанавливать с раздела жесткого диска — требует вставить диск.

Пробовал через setup.exe из-под винды — та же хрень.

А с флешки установил без проблем.

Скорее всего старый образ. Эту проблему давно решили и сейчас практически не встречается. Возьмите с официального debian.org, если не поможет, почитайте как и чем записать образ на флешку https://tehnichka.pro/best-apps-for-burn-image-flash-linux/, может где-то в процессе ошибка допускается.

Образ брал с debian.org. На флешку писал через Rufus в dd режиме. Если через iso, то выбивало ошибку т.к. не находило ядро. В инете нашел советы записывать через dd.

его можно и создать сразу с необходимым содержимым

ты это серьёзно? как убедился, что её нет?

Открыл консоль, через ls попытался найти данную папку, но папка /etc оказалась пуста. Делал что мог

Скачал образ, загрузил в qemu.

Директория /etc существует и она не пуста. Директории /etc/apt нет.

Попробуйте выбрать пункт Install, а не Graphical Install.

Внимательно перечитайте Руководство по установке Debian GNU/Linux. Может Вас заинтересует альтернативная установка Загрузка из Windows.

Скачайте первый установочный DVD диск https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/amd64/iso-dvd/ С него Вы сможете установить Дебиан даже без доступа к интернет.

Простите за глупый вопрос.

А подключение к инету есть?

Перейти в виртуальную консоль Ctrl+Alt+F1 , Enter, ввести ping ya.ru и пингуется?

Какое беспроводное сетевое устройство Вы используете?

Там реально была какая то проблема. Записал чере dd сетевой установщик, скаченный с офсайта Debian, и тут началось. Я не стал разбираться, не было времени. Установил другой дистрибутив Линукс.

I installed Debian 7 using a USB flash drive «burned» from the first DVD ISO of the Debian installation CD/DVD.

I did a very minimal install without Debian desktop environment, Print server and Standard system utilities.

After installation and a reboot, I was presented with a console with the words Debian GNU/Linux 7 hostname tty1. I supplied the login username and password.

After I typed the command sudo apt-get install xorg, an error message popped up stating:

I inserted the same USB flash drive into the same slot and after waiting for a few seconds, I pressed Enter.

The same error message popped up.

I have tried the following steps on the advice of some of my colleagues:

1. remove/delete all the entries in /etc/apt/sources.list and reboot the computer
2. dmesg shows that the USB thumb drive is mounted on /dev/sdb1
3. sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /media/usb0
4. sudo apt-cdrom -m -d /media/usb0 add

After doing the above, the following error message appears:

I prefer to install Xorg (60MB) and gnome-core (400MB) from the USB stick. The NGO that I am working with is in a developing country with a very basic internet access infrastructure. Internet access is very patchy and the average download speed is less than 2 Mbps.

N.B. It appears that the above issue happens to Ubuntu users as well, as documented in AskUbuntu. However the solution offered on AskUbuntu is to simply delete the cdrom entry in the sources.list and use the internet to install and/or update additional packages.

Русский язык в Debian 6.0

Debian 6.0 установился без русского языка, хотя я устанавливал его с DVD. Но не это важно. Как сделать, так что бы система была русской?

это для gtk, а для кед нужны пакеты локализации.

выполнено с правами su ?

1. набираете su и нажимаете «enter»
далее, вводите свой пароль.
промт # — индикатор консоли и действий с правами root.

2. а потом уже вводите команду :

для отображения новой локали нужна перегрузка компа или новый сеанс пользователя.

так установи локаль

apt-get install locales

ага, тогда делаем:
#apt-get install locales

и пробуем настроить locales еще раз.

root@debian:/home/denis# apt-get install locales
