Изначально мы планировали выпустить экспериментальную версию клиента Path of Exile для macOS около недели назад, чтобы игроки смогли её опробовать до официального запуска наряду с выходом дополнения Кража. В связи с возникновением целого ряда неожиданных технических проблем мы смогли подготовить клиент только к сегодняшнему дню. Наш новый план — немедленный выпуск этого экспериментального клиента для получения отзывов от пользователей macOS, и официальный запуск на Mac примерно через неделю.

В целях тестирования сборки 3.11.2 (в которую не входит никакой контент Кражи) мы разместили файл installer .dmg по ссылке для тестирования пользователями Mac. Данная экспериментальная версия 3.11.2 обновится до Кражи после запуска дополнения.

Чтобы установить сборку для macOS, загрузите и откройте файл .dmg. Перетащите папку Path of Exile в вашу папку Applications, а затем запустите Path of Exile оттуда. Будет установлено обновление, во время которого полностью скачается игра. Учтите, что скопировать файл Content.ggpk c ПК для ускорения процесса не получится, и файл Content.ggpk, который мы выложим для предварительной загрузки сегодня, тоже не подойдет.

Эта версия может содержать ошибки, и мы ещё хотим кое-что исправить в ней до запуска, поэтому не рекомендуем играть в неё вашими персонажами с одной жизнью!

Версия для macOS работает на тех же серверах, что и версия для ПК, и использует те же самые учётные записи/персонажей/микротранзакции и т. д. Нет никаких проблем в переключении между mac и ПК в любое время по вашему усмотрению.

Пожалуйста, обо всех обнаруженных неполадках сообщайте в соответствующем разделе форума (желательно с пометкой “Mac” в названии темы).

Our intention was to release an experimental copy of the macOS Path of Exile client around a week ago, so that community members could test it before its official release tomorrow alongside Heist. A series of last-minute unexpected technical problems meant that we only had this client distributable today. Our new plan is to release this experimental client immediately for feedback from adventurous macOS users, and to officially release on Mac in around a week.

We have put together a macOS version of 3.11.2 (which does not include any Heist content) and have released an installer .dmg file here for Mac users to test. This version will update to and work with Heist tomorrow.

To install it, download and open the .dmg file. Drag the Path of Exile folder into your Applications folder, then launch Path of Exile from within there. It will patch in a full download of the game. Note that you can’t copy your Content.ggpk file from a PC to speed it up, and you shouldn’t try to use the Content.ggpk from the PC torrent that we’ll be releasing today.

Update: So we kind of failed when making the installer. We’re going to fix this over the next week, but there’s a small manual workaround you can do in the meantime to avoid the «Invalid Installation» error. Once PoE is installed from the .dmg file, you need to open a terminal and run the following command:

xattr -c /Applications/Path\ of\ Exile/Path\ of\ Exile.app

(If you were one of the very first users to test this and you still have problems, or if the client says it is the wrong version when you log in, you’ll need to delete your Content.ggpk file and patch again. We made a change that invalidated the old download, sorry! This shouldn’t affect many people at all).

This version may be buggy and still has a few things we want to fix, so we recommend not playing it with your hardcore characters!

The macOS version plays on the same servers as the PC version and uses the same accounts/characters/microtransactions/etc. There’s no problem switching back and forth between mac and PC as you wish. This experimental 3.11.2 version will patch itself to Heist tomorrow.

We are maintaining a Known Issues list for the macOS version here.

Please post any issues you encounter in the bug reports forum (preferably with «Mac» in the subject).

Многие, кто пытался запускать Garena Path of Exile под Mac OS, хорошо знают, что тот же номер, что и с англоязычным PoE здесь не прокатывает. В то время, как западное фан сообщество PoE давно выложило в сеть свою портированную версию игры вместе с лаунчером, простые русские парни вынуждены довольствоваться тем что есть. А есть нечего. То же самое западное фан сообщество ясно дало понять, что писать отдельный лаунчер под специфическую Garena PoE они не собираются. Да и вряд ли это вообще возможно, ибо связка Garena+ и Garena PoE имеют собственную систему авторизации, отличную от оригинальной. Так что же делать? Ответ прост: либо играть на буржуйском сервере в буржуйскую же Path od Exile, либо.

Итак, после долгих мучений, у меня есть для вас две новости — хорошая и плохая.

1. Хорошая новость.
Я запустил игру. На MacBook Pro Retina ’13 через wine. Да, это реально.

2. Плохая новость.
Запустить игру «вчистую» у меня не вышло. Т.е. пришлось использовать второй ноут с Windows XP в качестве посредника.

В чём соль.

Вот начиная с этого абзаца, требуется всё ваше внимание и посильная помощь. Особенно тех, кто знаком с отладкой и запуском различных приложением под wine.

Процесс запуска игры от Garena реализован следующим обазом:
1. Запускается Garena+ Manager, который просит у вас юзер/пасс, проверяет наличие доступных игр и выводит их список.
2. При нажатии на Играть PoE получает временный токен, который передаёт основному загрузчику игры под именем PluginAdminExec.exe вместе с некоторыми доп. параметрами. Вот на этом этапе и происходит косяк — по факту процесс PluginAdminExec не запускается.
3. PluginAdminExec, получив временный токен с данными формирует игровой токен, с которым запускает процесс PathOfExile.exe (непосредственно игровой клиент).
4. Игра запускается, проверяет валидность токена и далее по обстоятельствам.

Пропустить шаг №2, казалось бы, довольно просто: сосниферить токен, полученный Garena+ и передать нужные параметры непосредственно PluginAdminExec. Сказано — сделано. Но тут возникает следующая проблема: PluginAdminExec по неясным мне причинам, возвращает ошибку: game start failed. При этом, насколько я понял, он даже не пытается обратиться к файлу PathOfExile.exe.

Ваша посильная помощь.

Основных проблемы сейчас две:
1. Как заставить Garena+ штатно запускать процесс PluginAdminExec
2. Если штатный запуск PluginAdminExec ничем не отличается от ручного, то как заставить PluginAdminExec работать и запускать PathOfExile.exe?

Одного моего мозга и свободного времени пока что не хватает, чтобы решить эти две проблемы 🙁 Давайте покажем всем, что русское игровое сообщество ничем не хуже забугорного 🙂

Hello, this is maybe not the best option but there is actually an «unofficial port» of PoE on their official forum if you want to play this game on mac :

I play on a macbook pro i5 8Go ram and HD4000 graphics card, the game works well for me. Keep in mind that it’ll maybe take you some days to finally figure how to make this game work !

Actually it really depends of your computer. If you understand well enough English you can read some pages on the topic I mentionned in my previous post. Or you can post your problem on it, people always come to help you, that’s how I made this game work.

Now I didn’t launch it since like 4-5 months, the problem is Grinding Gear Games often make patch notes and stuff that completly changes the game, so most of the time every 1 month/2 months maybe your game won’t work anymore.

So how did I get this to work, well I did download multiple versions of the wine version of the game ( by multiple I mean I tested a lot of them ), and with the help of Path of Exile’s mac users that sometime go on the topic I mentionned, I configured a bit Wine. I can’t give you any good explanation actually, you have to search for it yourself on the topic I posted earlier 🙂

Download PlayOnMac
Install Steam in a PlayOnMac wrapper
Run it and Log in to Steam
Install Path Of Exile

To fix Sound Error 40963 do this:
Open PlayOnMac
Click Configure on your Steam wrapper
Click on Wine, Configure Wine
Click on «Libraries» «New override for library»
Add «openal32»
Click OK and your done

In Game, to fix stuttering: Turn off Post Processing.

And that’s how I play Path of Exile on Mac in Steam

[OSX] Unofficial Path of Exile port — 30/12/2018 status update

Hello fellow Mac gamers:

Unfortunately, I have to say at this moment, it is not possible to make working port of PoE on OSX, due to several reasons:

However the main reason is OSX system itself
This game relies heavily on streaming data from big file. While this is not problem on Windows or Linux, OSX does not like it, especially when mmap() method is used to accessing this data. OSX implementation of mmap is extremely slow on large files, and over the time, the game file (content.ggpk) has bloated from Old Intro

Here I present you the unofficial Path of Exile for Mac.

Is this port of the game for Mac?
Technically no, this wrapper just provides means to OSX to run native Windows applications. Therefore the game version is exactly same as on Windows with all its bugs features.

System Requirements
The game is not compatible with AMD cards running on Snow Leopard and Lion
OSX 10.12 High Sierra tested
OSX 10.13 Mojave tested
older, who knows 🙂

Macbook pro late 2011 and newer tested

Installation instructions
Download, double click, unpack (for example move the icon to application folder), double click, play

Please read Known issues before downloading, you will save yours and mine time

1. Game will print error first time its launched (WIPfactory blah blah) just keep pressing ok until it crashes, then the game will ask you if it should run in DirectX 9 mode. click yes, enjoy.
2. Once loaded disable multithreading in graphical options in menu

3. At current state, the port is suitable only for crafting and trading, the normal gameplay will be laggy as hell

Note: Ignore the «alpha 1» name, I am not going to reupload it just to fix the naming 😉 And yeah, v5 = v5 alpha 1.

Path Of exile 4.1.2 — mediafire (154MB)

Immediate crash without any reason — For whatever reason, Razer synapse drivers will crash the game

Failed resetting Direct3D device objects — can be workaround by manually setting game to fullscreen mode (FAQ) (Solved in v6)

FPS Drop/Lags — When casting spell, encountering rare mobs, the frame rate spikes — 2 causes:
OSX bug which is responsible for longer loading screens and unfortunately there is no known solution for that.
Game is not preloading some monster effects = this issue is known to GGG, and according to this they are working on solution. Occurs on windows as well. Blame devs 😉 update should be somewhat improved in v5 and after Poe 1.3.1.

Game may open in small window, solution below.
The launcher may take a long time to allocate resources (up to 30 minutes) on first install
The port inherits the rare bugs which may occur on windows, so there will be crashes and/or graphical glitches.
The port is know not to run on some configuration by default with D3ERR_INVALIDCALL error (possible workaround below in FAQ)
Loading times are longer — this is OSX bug and unfortunately there is no known solution for that.

Port specific issues

edit production_config.ini (use spotlight (cmd+space) to find it) and change
fullscreen=false to fullscreen=true

also set the resolution to supported one, or game may crash anyway.

Game Specific

download and edit whatever loot filter file you want to use then place the file in the following path

/User/YourUserName/Documents/My Games/Path of Exile/

This folder should contain a file called ‘production_Config.ini’ if not then you are looking in the wrong folder

Put your loot filter file in this folder

Go to the Options Menu and click the UI tab. Scroll all the way to bottom and look for a setting that is talking about available loot filters

Click that tab/menu and select the loot filter file you want to use.

Now you should be all set (may need to log out you char and log back in) — should see a message on login ‘loot filter enabled’ or something smililar
