Ratings and Reviews

Great, but can’t skip breaks

Very simple and straightforward, but while you can pause or fail a Pomodoro session, there’s no way to skip a break, or change a break from long to short or vice versa. This is frustrating if you use longer Pomodoro sessions (e.g. 50/10)

My Favorite Pomodoro App for Mac

I bought this app because I struggle with ADHD and love the pomodoro technique for years I’ve been looking for a way to bring the cute and simple tomato timer to Mac/ the digital interface. I wanted a cute design with charts and tracking and this app has given me just that. I love that you can fully customize how many pomodoros a day you strive for as well as the lengths of time of the session and breaks. Easy, useful, powerful features without doing too much. I love apps that can be found in the menu bar but sit quietly in the background. $5 for Pro is worth it just to access all of the charts. I love that I can get a daily, weekly, or monthly view though I would love to see the ability to add more data to these charts such as maybe a task name so I know what I did with my time, not just that I completed a pomdoro. Or, I like the idea of rating my productivity at the end of a pomodoro session, maybe that could be in the next update? As well as an ability to skip breaks, please!

Great timer, but notifications are broken

The timer itself works well and is highly customizable. Some other pomodoro apps don’t let you adjust things like break durations and the number of pomodori in a cycle, so these features are nice to have. Unfortunately, its usefulness is kind of limited because the notifications don’t work. I have to watch the icon in the menu bar like a hawk, or I’ll work into the first few minutes of a break and miss when it’s over.

Notifications fixed in version 1.0.2

Ratings and Reviews

Minimalistic & Work Focused

Pro’s:
1) There aren’t any fancy designs to keep you hindered from your work. Work Focused.
2) It’s still very beautiful
3) The little memo box is very helpful! It’s like a note from your past self telling you what you’re supposed to be doing in that particular time interval. Very nice.
4) Sometimes you don’t want to leave your work, and while other apps rip you out of your Zen to remind you that time’s up, Tomato 2 allows you to keep on grooving until you say so. You take charge.

Con’s:
1) Fluxuating between time intervals is a bit annoying since you have to go through the settings. I’d wish there was at least a toggle button on the home page where you can input your 2 most used pomodoro times (Ex, switch between 60 min intervals or 30 min). But, I’ll still give it 5 stars since I don’t alternate between time intervals too much.

Great Design for Focus and Productivity

Pros:
— It’s a great design that’s very simple, sleek, and minimalist.
— Very customizable settings.
— Has all of the features that you might need easy to access.
— The timer at the very top of the screen is helpful.

Cons/Recommendations:
— I would love for there to be a way to plan out the the schuedule in advance. This could look similar to the Stats/Review Panel, but instead of having it serve as a reflection on productivity, it could allow to plan out the Goals and duration of each session. This would help so much with productivity and planning and I would love to have this feature implemented.
— I wish there was a way to stop a session early without throwing off the session/break schuedule. (This may already exist, I’m not sure.)
— I wish it was easier to pause a session/break instead of holding down the option key while clicking the stop button. It would be great for there to be a pause button next to the stop button.
— I wish the button to go to the next thing planned (session, long break, short break) was bigger and more intuitive.

Thank you for this great app! 🙂

Fantastic simple tool

This has everything I need to have a simple pomodoro timer to stay on track.

The only feedback I would give is that I actually don’t like having the window open (I just look at the time in the top toolbar), but when a session ends a notification window AND the main window open. So I have to acknowledge the notification window and close the main window every time, which becomes annoying.

I’m willing to put up with it though because literally everything else about this timer is exactly what I want.
