Folders Popup — это программа, позволяющая реализовать быстрый доступ к часто используемым папкам, сайтам и документам из собственного контекстного меню. Пользователю разрешается добавлять в это меню собственные пункты, вызывать его при помощи мыши и клавиатурных сочетаний в окне практически любой программы, не только с рабочего стола или в Проводнике, к примеру.

Кроме заданных пользователем элементов, в меню могут отображаться ссылки на основные системные и недавно посещённые папки. Отдельного упоминания достойна функция переключения между открытыми диалоговыми окнами и окнами Проводника (Switch).

Добавлять новые элементы в меню совершенно не сложно, для каждого из них можно задать произвольное имя и изменить расположение, в меню разрешается использование разделителей и вложенных элементов. Ссылки на веб-сайты открываются в браузере по умолчанию.

В настройках Folders Popup можно изменить горячие клавиши, выбрать одну из предусмотренных разработчиком тем оформления, задать нужный размер для иконок, отключить неиспользуемые дополнительные функции. Меню может отображаться как непосредственно у курсора, так и в заданном пользователе месте экрана, его расположение также задаётся в настройках

Программа не требует установки, достаточно извлечь архив в произвольную папку и запустить исполняемый файл нужной разрядности (32 или 64 бита). Распространяется Folders Popup на бесплатной основе, интерфейс мультиязычный, но русского в списке поддерживаемых языков пока нет.

— Документ: составьте свой ежедневный список файлов и используйте их в своих собственных программах из любого окна.

Modifying information that is displayed in File/Folder Pop-up Descriptions

Is it possible to modify the information that is displayed in File/Folder Pop-up Descriptions. If it is, how?

• What is the Operating system installed on the computer?
• For which folder are you trying to change the description?

You have an option to add more details apart from the text, size and name of the file.
1. Right click the empty space next to the folder.
2. Click Sort by.
3. Click on More.
4. In Choose Details windows, you may select the necessary options.
5. Click OK.

I am running Windows 7 Professional. And I understand the process to add more details to the folder
when it is in ‘details’ view however, my question is with regards to modifying the information displayed
in the ‘file pop-up descriptions’ that ‘pop-up’ when the pointer is hovering over a file.

I’ve done a little more investigating and have come to the conclusion that the default information shown
on the pop-up descriptions is different for different file types. Now what I deduce is that W7 Pro treats
‘.tif’ files as images (or photographs) so while the pop-up information may be appropriate it does not
suit my needs.

When hovering over a ‘.psd’ file the pop-up description is exactly what I need to know when scanning
over files. I use an expansive file system of ‘.tif’ files and folders, some containing several hundred files,
and while I could switch to the ‘details’ view and see the information I need, it is not as conducive to my
productivity as the ‘list’ view. I find myself switching back and forth between both views or right clicking
and viewing the properties to get the information I need.

What I want to be able to do is:
modify the pop-up descriptions of certain file types to better suit my needs

From the issue description, I understand that the folders are randomly popping up in your computer. Please provide us with the following information to assist you in a better way.

1. Does the issue occur when you are accessing any particular program?

2. Do you get any error message on the computer?

3. Have you made any recent hardware or software changes to the computer prior to the issue?

Since the issue still persists even after placing the computer in a Clean Boot, I suggest you to run the Microsoft Safety scanner and check if it helps.

To download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner, follow these steps:

a) Go to the Microsoft Safety Scanner site at: Microsoft Safety Scanner
http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

b) Click Download Now.
c) If prompted, click Run. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the Microsoft Safety Scanner. When prompted, add a shortcut to the Microsoft Safety Scanner to your desktop.
d) From your desktop, double click the Microsoft Safety Scanner icon. When the Microsoft Safety Scanner program launches, click Scan Type, then click Full Scan, then click Next.
e) After the scan is complete, remove all detected malware entries

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

Folders Popup: Quickly navigate between your frequently used folders in Windows

While we are working on our PCs and laptops, we often need to open and use multiple folders. The Alt+Tab function key is certainly a savior when working on Windows PCs and dealing with more than one folder. However, if you want much quicker movement between the folders that you use frequently, then here’s an easy-to-use and free-to-download tool, called as Folders Popup. Folders Popup software lets you quickly browse and navigate between your frequently used folders and documents in Windows.

Using Folders Popup you can easily and quickly maneuver between frequently used folders. It does not require an installation. You just need to download an .EXE zip file and run it. You get two versions in the zipped file, namely 32-bit or 64-bit versions, which you can choose as per your system. After the selection, the folderspopup.ini file is created and updated in the same folder where you had initially saved the zipped file.

For your convenience, you can create a shortcut of Folders Popup on your Desktop. You can also select ‘Run’ in the System Tray and launch Folders Popup v3 automatically.

We often use certain folders quite frequently. These may be your Music and Video folders, Movie folders, Documents’ folders or the folders related to your work.
