PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check the power window operating current.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Door window glass adjustment (Refer to ). Then go to Step 2.

Replace the power window motor.

STEP 2. Determine a trouble spot.

Q. Which door does the power window anti-trap function fail on?

Driver’s door : Go to Step 3.

Front passenger’s door : Go to Step 5.

Rear right door : Go to Step 10.

Rear left door : Go to Step 15.

STEP 3. Connector check: E-18 power window main switch connector, E-15 front power window motor (driver’s side) connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 4. Check of the wiring harness between the E-18 power window main switch connector terminal Nos. 8, 9, 10, 12 and the E-15 front power window motor (driver’s side) connector terminal Nos. 5, 2, 3, 6

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 20.

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. Connector check: E-03 front power window motor (passenger’s side) connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 6. Resistance measurement at E-03 front power window motor (passenger’s side) connector

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the E-03 front power window motor (passenger’s side) connector terminal No. 5 and the body earth.
OK: Continuity (less than 2 Ω)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.

STEP 7. Check of the wiring harness between the E-03 front power window motor (Passenger’s side) connector terminal No. 5 and the body earth

note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check the C-113 intermediate connector, and repair if necessary.

  • Check the earth line for the power window motor revolution detection sensor for open circuit and short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 20.

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 8. Connector check: E-05 front power window sub switch connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 9. Check of the wiring harness between the E-05 front power window sub switch connector terminal Nos. 8, 2, 3 and the E-03 front power window motor (passenger’ side) connector terminal Nos. 3, 2, 6

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 20.

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 10. Connector check: E-11 rear power window motor (RH) connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 11.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 11. Resistance measurement at E-11 rear power window motor (RH) connector

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the E-11 rear power window motor (RH) connector terminal No. 5 and the body earth.
OK: Continuity (less than 2 Ω)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 13.

STEP 12. Check of the wiring harness between the E-11 rear power window motor (RH) connector terminal No. 5 and the body earth

note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check the D-36 intermediate connector, and repair if necessary.

  • Check the earth line for the power window motor revolution detection sensor for open circuit and short circuit.

(2)Measure the resistance between the E-25 rear power window motor (LH) connector terminal No. 5 and the body earth.
OK: Continuity (less than 2 Ω)

Rear left door : Go to Step 19.

STEP 4. Connector check: F-02 power window main switch connector and F-14 front power window motor (RH) connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 5. Check the wiring harness from F-02 power window main switch connector terminal Nos. 8, 9, 10 and 12 to F-14 front power window motor (RH) connector terminal Nos. 6, 2, 4 and 5.

After the power window main switch is replaced, check that the driver’s power window anti-trap function works.
