Как правило, подключив сканер к устройству или добавив новый сканер в домашнюю сеть, вы можете сразу начать сканирование изображений и документов. Если сканер не устанавливается автоматически, ознакомьтесь с этой статьей, чтобы получить помощь в работе.
Выберите один из следующих разделов или нажмите Показать все. При открытии любого раздела отобразятся дополнительные сведения об использовании сканера.
В большинстве случаев для установки сканера достаточно подключить его к устройству. Подключите USB-кабель к сканеру к USB-порту устройства и включите сканер. Если это не сработает, вот как можно сделать это вручную.
Нажмите кнопку Пуск > Параметры > Устройства > Принтеры и сканеры или используйте следующую кнопку.
Открытие параметров «принтеры & сканеры»
Выберите Добавить принтер или сканер. Дождитесь, когда он найдется рядом со сканерами, выберите нужный вариант и нажмите кнопку Добавить устройство.
Примечание: Если сканер входит в многофункциональный или один из принтеров, вы можете увидеть только название принтера. Чтобы просмотреть сканер, в разделе принтеры & сканерывыберите установленный принтер, нажмите кнопку Управление, а затем выберите нужный сканер.
Если сканер включен и подключен к сети, Windows найдет его автоматически. Список доступных сканеров может включать в себя все сканеры в сети, например беспроводные и Bluetooth-сканеры или сканеры, подключенные к другим устройствам и доступные в сети. Ниже описан способ, как сделать это вручную.

Убедитесь, что сканер включен.
В поле поиска на панели задач введите » сканирование Windows» и выберите пункт » Сканировать из результатов».
Выполните одно из следующих действий:
Поместите документ, который следует сканировать, лицевой стороной вниз на планшет сканера и закройте крышку.
Поместите документ, который требуется отсканировать, в податчик документов сканера.
На странице «Сканирование» выполните следующие действия.
В разделе Сканер выберите сканер, который хотите использовать.
В разделе Источник выберите расположение для сканирования.
В разделе Тип файла выберите тип файла для сохранения сканированного изображения. Например, файл можно сохранить в различных форматах: JPEG, BMP и PNG.
Выберите Показать больше для отображения параметров сохранения файла.
В разделе Конечная папка укажите желаемое расположение для сохранения файла, полученного в результате сканирования.
Нажмите кнопку Сканировать в нижней части экрана, чтобы отсканировать документ или изображение.
После завершения проверки нажмите кнопку Просмотр , чтобы Просмотреть сканированный файл, а затем нажмите кнопку Закрыть , чтобы сохранить его. Вы можете редактировать отсканированный документ или изображение в окне предварительного просмотра, которое появляется при выборе пункта Просмотр.
Чтобы найти сохраненные ранее файл сканирования выберите Проводник на панели задач, а затем выберите расположение, которое вы выбрали для сохранения сканированных файлов.

Install a printer in Windows 10
When you connect a printer to your PC or add a new printer to your home network, you can usually start printing right away. Windows 10 supports most printers, so you probably won’t have to install special printer software. Additional printer drivers and support might be available if you update Windows 10.
Note: If your PC is running Windows 10 S, some printers might not work with it, or they might have limited functionality. For more info, see Device support on Windows 10 S.
If your printer is on and connected to the network, Windows should find it easily. Available printers can include all printers on a network, such as Bluetooth and wireless printers or printers that are plugged into another computer and shared on the network. You might need permission to install some printers.
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.

If your printer isn’t in the list, select The printer that I want isn’t listed, and then follow the instructions to add it manually using one of the options.
If you use wireless access points, extenders or multiple wireless routers with separate SSIDs, you’ll need to ensure that you’re connected to the same network as the printer for your PC to find and install it.
If you have a new wireless printer that hasn’t been added to your home network, read the instructions that came with the printer, and check the printer manufacturer’s website to learn more and to get up-to-date software for your printer.

Install and use a scanner in Windows 10

Available scanners can include all scanners on a network, such as Bluetooth and wireless scanners or scanners that are plugged into another device and shared on the network. Here’s a way to do it manually.

You might need administrator permission to install some scanners.
If you want to see if your scanner is installed, make sure that your scanner is turned on and use the Open the Printers & scanners settings button, or follow these steps:

Once your scanner is installed, use the Windows Scan app to scan a picture or document. Here’s how:

Make sure your scanner is turned on.
In the search box on the taskbar, type Windows Scan, and then select Scan from the results.
Do one of the following:
Place the item you want to scan face down on the scanner’s flatbed and close the cover.
Place the item you want to scan in the scanner’s document feeder.
On the Scan page, do the following:
Under Scanner, select the scanner you want to use.
Under Source, select the location you prefer to scan from.
Under File type, select the type of file you want the scan to be saved as. For example, you can save the file in different file formats—such as JPEG, Bitmap, and PNG.
Select Show more to show the Save file to options.
Under Save file to, browse to the location where you want to save the scan.
Select Scan at the bottom of the screen to scan your document or picture.
After your scan is finished, select View to see the scanned file before you save it, or select Close to save it. You can edit the scanned document or picture in the preview that appears when you select View.
To locate a previously saved scan file, select File Explorer from the taskbar, and then select the location that you chose to save your scanned files.
If none of these instructions solved your scanner problem, there could be an issue with the scanner itself. Go to the scanner manufacturer’s website for specific troubleshooting info.
How to add a scanner in Windows 10
I am not able to scan with my HP deskjet 3050 J610 series. I am able to print just fine.

I understand that you need to add scanner in Windows 10. Kindly follow the below steps to add scanners in Windows 10.
Open the Start menu, type view scanners and cameras in search bar and click on view scanners and cameras from the search bar results.
Click on Add a devices. (Clicks Yes if the user account control dialog box prompted)
Click on Next button on Camera and scanner installation wizard.
Click on Xerox and select the scanner device.
Note : If you have external scanner setup file on disk, click on have a disk and select the location of the scanner device
Click on Next button.
Enter the name which you like to set for the scanner.
Click on Next button.
Click on Finish button to finish installation wizard.

This is great advice for people with a Xerox scanner.
As The above person has a HP scanner, and I have a Brother scanner the advice is not applicable.
I have tested the Xerox driver with my scanner and have determined that it does not work.
Could, MS possibly advise users on exactly which Xerox scanner we should run right out and replace our equipment with. Also do we get a discount? Does MS get a kick back from Xerox?
Are entire corporations with large customer bases expected to pay ransom for the ability to be placed in the «built-in, but not really, driver list» ?

I am astonished that what worked so well for my Canon MX870 under 8.1 (and did initially for Windows 10) has now gone into the ether somewhere. What update did MS send that screwed it all up?
In any event, I have resorted to the WIA scan utility after having reinstalled my MX870 3 times!!

I have successfully integrated my Brother MFC9420CN printer/scanner/fax.
Brother drivers for Working 8.1 are working. (at the moment and to a degree)
Scanning is functional only via USB cable (Win 8+) .
However, only printing via networking is functional.
Since I have 5 other computers and various devices that use this printer via network a serious problem
now exists and has since Windows 8.0.
Network scanning is no longer possible, network faxing is no longer possible.
Network printing is still fine (for now).
My current solution is to use an older machine running Win XP Pro and set it up as a Print/Scan/Fax server using the software provided with the original XP drivers for this model.
This offers the benefit of having a copy of everything printed, faxed, or scanned.
Using the server as a NAS as well allows for network wide distribution of files scanned.
The printer can scan to specific folders on non-win8+ systems (via network) so I can provide document security and individual users with their own folders to reduce file clutter.
Since full network functionality is present in XP or Win7 I do not have to tether the printer via USB cable.
Which is why I purchased the MFC9420CN in the first place.
