Are you unable to print or scan after a Windows 10 update or upgrade?

If so, make sure you have restarted Windows at least once. To Restart, click the lower left Start button, click and select Restart.

If problems persist, then make sure your printer is compatible with Windows 10.

If your printer is compatible with Windows 10, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor to detect and fix isses.

If problems persist, reinstall the latest HP printing software.

После очередного обновления Windows 10 возникают проблемы с печатью, включая и PDF формат

Недавно вышедшее крупное обновление Windows 10 «поломало» возможность печати практически на всех принтерах. Форум разработчиков Microsoft буквально завален жалобами на проблему.

Из-за непонятной ошибки поставленные в очередь на печать документы просто оттуда исчезают, принтеры не определяются, а если к ним каким-то чудом удается подключиться, соединение получается крайне нестабильным. По последним данным, сейчас аналогичная проблема начала возникать и при попытке «напечатать» документ в PDF файл.

Виной всему обновление KB4557957. Как обычно, хотели как лучше, получилось как всегда. Это обновление было призвано исправить ряд ранее выявленных уязвимостей, а в конечном итоге нарушило работу большинства офисов и превратило обычную печать документов в сложнейший длительный процесс, успех которого абсолютно не гарантируется.

Пока Microsoft разбирается в проблеме и пытается определить, что пошло не так. Решения ошибки нет. Как стало известно, попытка переустановить драйвера ни к чему не приводит, а вот если заменить их на другой тип, под названием PCL6, устройство начинать работать. И всегда актуальный вариант: «снести» обновление Windows 10, откатившись до предыдущей версии, когда все работало. К сожалению, такой вариант автоматически удаляет все привнесенные с обновлением меры защиты выявленных уязвимостей.

Connecting to network printers using LPR on Windows 10

If you do not have the drivers for the printer you are connecting to, please download them from the manufactureres website before proceeding with these steps.

Installing the Windows Components

1) Click the Windows button, then type “control panel”.

2) Click Control Panel to open it.

3) Click “Programs

4) Click “Turn Windows Features on or off

5) Expand Print and Document Services, make sure LPD Print Service and LPR Port Monitor are both checked. If they are not click both boxes to do so.

Connecting to the Printer

1) Click the Windows button, then type «devices and printers”.

2) Click Devices and Printers to open it.

3) Select «Add a Printer«.

4) Select «Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings«.

5) Select «Create a new port«, under «Type of port» choose LPR port. Click Next.

6) Enter the following information:

Name or address of server providing lpd: wave.itg.ias.edu

Name of the printer or print queue on that server: Enter the name of the printer you are trying to connect to

7) Click OK, select the correct driver for your chosen printer.

8) Enter a name for the printer; it is recommended to use the listed name of the printer or print queue.

9) Select «Do not share this printer«, click Next.

Windows 10 can’t detect my printer

My PC can’t detect my printer. On Windows 10 build 15063.0 it works fine. After updating to build 15063.608, I can’t print anymore. I’ve installed the latest printer driver but no luck.

Going through your post, I understand that printer is having trouble printing with your Deskjet printer.

Let’s first try to fix this issue using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to http://hp.care/2bZ9w2q to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, select your printer and click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

If the issue persists, then I’d suggest you perform a clean install to try and fix the issue:

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Deskjet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the «windows key» + «r» to get the «Run» window open — Type » printui.exe /s » (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers — remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “ c:/programdata ” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click http://hp.care/2s39gqS to install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Здравствуйте. Столкнулась с проблемой цветной печати на HP DeskJet Ink Advantage Ultra 4729.После обновления Windjws, при подключении принтера по беспроводной сети пропала функция цветной печати, драйвера установлены, цветной картридж полный, но не могу установить печать в цвете. Что делать?

To resolve this problem, please configure a new Port as follows (Network printer and Windows only):

  1. On the keyboard, press the Windows and R logo simultaneously. The Run window opens.
  2. Type control printers , and then press ENTER . The Devices and Printers window opens.
  3. Right-click the printer icon, then Printer Properties , Ports tab, and Add Port. .
  4. Select Standard TCP/IP Port , and then tap Add Port. .
  5. Click Next , and then enter the IP address of the printer (example: 192.168.1.97 ) in the Printer Name or IP Address field , and then click Next .
  6. Once the port is added, click Finish and close all windows.
  7. Try to print.

To address this incident, please follow the following procedure:
1. Uninstall printing software:

  1. Unplug the USB cable at the back of the printer, if necessary.
  2. On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  3. Type appwiz.cpl , then OK . The Programs and Features window opens.
  4. Click the right mouse button on HP DeskJet 4720 series Basic Software , then Uninstall and Yes .
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstall of the printer.
  6. Restart the computer.

2. Launch the registry editor:

  1. On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  2. Type regedit , then OK . The registry editor opens.
  3. Develop HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE , then SOFTWARE , click with the right mouse button on Hewlett-Packard and Delete . (If the PC is HP-branded, develop Hewlett-Packard and remove Digital Imaging )

3. Delete the HP DeskJet 4720 series folder in the way:

  • C: \Program Files\HP
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\HP

4. Rename folder 3 in 3_old in the path below (a restart may be required):

NOTE: If the file refuses this action do as follows:

On the keyboard, tap the Windows and R keys simultaneously. The Run window opens.

  • Type net stop spooler , then press OK .
  • Rename the file.
  • Type net start spooler , then tap OK .

6. Try scanning and printing.
