Здравствуйте. Я недавно установил убунту, но она не видит wifi. Думаю, проблема с драйверами. У меня wifi карта qualcomm atheros qca6174 802.11ac. Где скачать и как установить драйвера?

Судя по твоей информации, нужный модуль ядра у тебя есть. Карта определяется как wlp1s0. Сеть через network-manager настраиваешь? По дефолту он управляет сетью в ubuntu. Есть вероятность, что wifi выключен. Введи

Если не помогает, то попробуй обновить пакет с прошивками. Можно скачать пакет отсюда: http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-firmware/

После установки перезагрузись.

Может в bios выключено?

У тебя Fn-клавиши или подобные есть? Или переключатель Wi-Fi? Судя по выхлопу rfkill , чем-то из них Wi-Fi отключен. Или из BIOS, как выше отметили.

Попробуй с флешки последний релиз убунту загрузить. Будет ли там такая проблема?

My old motherboard Abit IP35-E conked out recently and has been replaced by Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo board. Dual boot setup of Win XP and Mint 9. The Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller device is not automatically configured by Mint 9. I found following discussions for manually installing the Ethernet drivers.

The crux of the procedure is to install ‘build-essential’ and ‘linux-headers’ and then manually install/configure ‘atl1c’ from ‘compat-wireless’. I’m stuck at trying to get ‘build-essential’ to install. With no internet, I popped in the Mint 9 CD and tried MintInstall, Synaptic and apt-get (command line) but none are able to recognize package installation from the CD.

What is a good way for me to get the Ethernet device configured?

have a wee read at some of the ideas here

. from downloading what is needed .

. to how to install a series of packages at one go .

. to how to edit your install list so the CD is looked at . if indeed it is currently being ignored.

I was wondering if the contents of the CD being in compressed format is a reason for failure. What if ‘apt-cdrom’ is expecting a regular directory tree to search for packages and is unable to automatically extract contents of the CD.

As an exercise I booted up Mint 9 from the Live CD. And then tried to install ‘build-essential’ using Synaptic. Synaptic successfully got the package and dependencies installed from the CD. There was no interent connection. So it is able to do it when running as Live CD but not when the CD is mounted on an installed system.

Any thoughts anyone?

that uses the sudo powers to open the file «/etc/apt/sources.list» using the text editor that is called gedit. and allows you to make changes

(the command «gedit /etc/apt/sources.list» would open the same file but you couldn’t save any changes you made. )

they say it is likely that in your file it will say

or something similar .

they say to remove the # sign, so the computer pays attention to the cd-rom entry. that surely is the fastest way for you to get your computer to look to the cd-rom

1. gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
2. remove the # before the cd-rom entry
3. control-save to save these changes;
4. close gedit . I guess reboot and see if the system now recognises your cd-rom disc.

Hi have a toshiba satellite L745 running Lucid Lynx

I need drivers for the Atheros AR8151 ethernet card.

Every post I have read on installing the driver give links to Atheros but they are all broken.

Does anybody know where I can download driver?

Hi, is it the driver that you need? or just the patch? If you are not sure run these commands in a terminal

Hi, it looks like you do need drivers for the ethernet.

Also you have a AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter in your computer do you want to try and get it working? Or have you clicked on the internet icon in the top right corner to see if wireless is enabled? Let me know if it is already working.

I have done a lot of searching and for now there is no new driver atheros was bought out and the new company has not posted any drivers. What errors did you get when you tried to install the one I had in the link earlier?

There is no wireless available where I am at the moment but the card is recognized. I only have LAN access. Basiclly I have 2 laptops the one i am trying to set up is new and i have just installed lucid on it from a disk without internet access.So there will be load of updates missing.
I think the one in the link is just a patch anyway I run the tar command ok but when i run the make install i get

Hi, yes it is a patch the other post said that the driver is included in the kernel and just needs a patch to make it work.

I have never seen a ethernet card that did not work by default so it probably does just need the patch, but that one may be to old for the kernel in natty.

Run this command it is suppose to tell everything that is loaded by the kernel.

Enabling Atheros Ethernet controller on ubuntu (AR8151)

If you have installed ubuntu in your system and it has a Atheros network controller ,your network card will not be detected.

If you don’t know what enternet controller is present run the command

lshw -class network

It should list out all the network controllers present, if you see Atheros/Attansic in the list then do the following to enable your card.


The ubuntu distros by default don’t have the drivers for the Atheros/Attansic drivers and hence need to be installed.
Download the package from
http://partner.atheros.com/Download.aspx?id=162
(this works for AR8151, might work for all 81 series too) .
NOTE: The link is not working any more after take over of atheros by qualcomm. Will update once I get the correct link.

Once you have downloaded the .gz pacakage, put it into a empty folder and run the following commands Your network should be recognized now, have fun 🙂

That was awesome. but my wifi is not enabled..after this steps only wired connections are detected.. can u please explain how to enable wifi in ubuntu 10.04?

click on system->administration->hardware drivers or additional drivers.
The wireless driver should be listed here, just select the driver and click on enable. You might need Internet connection as the drivers are downloaded from the net.

my latop’s ethernet is an atheros and after I installed 10.04 I got it to work without problem having followed your procedures

but I got some updates regrettably now its back to no wired network for me.

I have tried doing the same procedure again and it still didnt work on Kernel Linux 2.6.32-28 generic but if I boot into the previous kernel Linux 2.6.32-21 generic it works well.
