Hi, I just installed Ubuntu 15.04 x64 on my laptop, and when I tried to connect a bluetooth device to it, it says that no bluetooth adapters were found. But the wifi part of the card works fine and I’m using it to post this right now. I need the bluetooth to work because we are having a Mario Kart Wii tournament in my science class and the controllers use bluetooth to connect.

It said linux-firmware was already the newest version.

If you have a dual boot with windows with the Atheros bluetooth installed, you can find the AthrBT_0x31010100.dfu in Program Files/Common Files/QCA_Bluetooth. Then you will need to copy it to /lib/firmware/ar3k/

And you will likely need the ramps file from the same windows directory

I fixed this looking at the wifi wiki, the issue is that the right driver is the ath9k because the wifi chip is both providing wireless and bluetooth witht tha cohexistence option turned on.

Hi all, i have installed recently Ubuntu 18.04 alongside Windows 10. The problem is that the OS is not recognizing the Wi-Fi adapter.

My notebook is an Acer Aspire E 15;
Windows 10 recognizes the Wi-Fi adapter and works fine;
Using wired internet works on Ubuntu;

I have seen another threads here and usually they ask you to run some commands on the terminal, here are the outputs from what i have seen asked:

Also, i have seen a script here called wireless-info, here is the contents of the wireless-info.txt that this script creates:

I think it is also worth noting that, on Ubuntu 18.04 Live and 16.10 Live, the OS was also not recognizing Wi-Fi.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately these commands did not solve my issue. Ubuntu still says «No Wi-Fi Adapter found.»

I have found that the wireless device has network unclaimed. Maybe this has something to do with the problem?

I had purchased a Dell Inspiron 14 3421 LAPTOP, My WiFi details are
Qualcomm Atheros QCA 95665/ AR9565 wireless network adapter[168c:0036] (rev 01).
I have installed Ubuntu12.04 LTS , but WiFi driver is not detected.
I had contacted DELL Support center on phone, They had suggested to install
a genuine Windows version which is only supported by them
Please help me to find out a driver.

It worked like a CHARM
Brief of what i did for further reference.

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic build-essential

cd Desktop/compat-drivers-3.9-rc4-2-s
sudo su
./scripts/driver-select ath9k
make

I got one error after this command, the error was
error: redefinition of ‘kref_get_unless_zero’
include/linux/kref.h:47:32: note: previous definition of ‘kref_get_unless_zero’ was here

Then i did this in one of file

open the file . /compat-wireless-2012-12-18/include/linux/compat-3.8.h in your favourite editor,
find the kref_get_unless_zero function (telling from your error message, it should be on line 47) and comment it out. In case you have no idea what I’m talking about : Comment this code

after a reboot , my wifi is working like a charm.

Ubuntu: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter — Ubuntu 14.04

Question:

After the upgrade of my laptop to 14.04, I have problems to enable the Wi-Fi.

My Wireless card is

I had tried the «tricks» from here and here but nothing worked. The proposed solutions applied for 12.04 so I believe that’s why I am not able to enable the Wireless.

I tried also the below:

I tried also with the Super+F12 and/or Fn+F12 but the message is the same in «Network manager»:

From all the above it seems that the hardware is blocked (somehow). From bios I also enabled whatever related with «Wi-Fi/WLAN» but again no luck.

Does anyone have an idea what else should be done in order to enable my Wireless card?

Is there any backport software from which i can pull the necessary driver or is already included in linux-kernel?

I had the same problem, found a solution on a forum and it worked for me. I am using a Toshiba Satellite L750 with Qualcomm Atheros AR9585 and my wi-fi was hardware blocked. So I did what was said in that forum. I simply rebooted and immediately I pressed my wi-fi activation keyboard combination (FN+F8) and the led for wi-fi turned on and so my wi-fi was hardware unblocked.

I’ve got the similar problem with ath9k driver.
I solved this problem with a workaround that I found here.

This command that I’ve inserted above change the default behavior of ath9k .
After this change I noticed a strange things because network led indicator says that I’m offline, but I can go online through my wireless network card.
