Как включить удобный предпросмотр файлов в Windows 10

Если вы когда-либо имели опыт работы на macOS, то наверняка оценили возможность этой ОС по предпросмотру файлов без необходимости их открытия в специализированной программе. Работает это просто и гениально: нажимаешь пробел на файле в общем списке, и в маленьком окошке открывается его просмотр.

Давайте исправим данный недостаток Windows и реализуем нужную нам фичу в своей системе собственными силами.

А поможет нам в этом программа под названием QuickLook. Установить её можно через магазин приложений Microsoft Store. Она весит чуть более 100 Мб, но после установки и потребляет 20 Мб оперативной памяти.

Уверяю вас, это ничто по сравнению с той пользой, которую вы получаете от неё, и сейчас вы сами в этом убедитесь!

Как работает QuickLook

Находясь в проводнике Windows, нажмите клавишу Пробел, например, на любой картинке или фотографии, и тут же в маленьком окошке запустится просмотр этого файла. Обратите внимание: файл будет открыт не в той программе, в которой он у вас открывается по умолчанию, если два раза кликнуть на нем, а именно в окне предпросмотра QuickLook.

Для закрытия окна нажмите Пробел еще раз. Удобно?

Инструменты окна предпросмотра позволяют выполнять следующие функции:

• Закрепить окно поверх других
• Открыть файл в вашем просмотрщике по умолчанию или любой другой программе
• Поделиться файлом
• Запустить в полноэкранном режиме просмотра

Нажмите Пробел на любом MP3 файле, и в небольшом окошке запустится его проигрывание. Громкость можно регулировать колесиком мыши. Закройте окно повторным нажатием Пробела.

По умолчанию, прямо из коробки, программа поддерживает следующие популярные типы файлов:

• Графические: png, jpg, gif, psd и пр.
• Видео и звуковые: mp4, mkv, ogg, mp3 и пр.
• Архивы: zip, rar, 7z и пр.
• Документы: pdf, csv, htm, html, md, markdown, все текстовые форматы
• Email and Outlook: eml, msg

Установка плагинов

Добавить в QuickLook поддержку документов Microsoft Office и большого круга других, которые вам нужны, можно при помощи плагинов. Для этого проделываем следующие шаги:

1. Переходим на страницу GitHub, где выкладываются плагины для QuickLook, и скачиваем нужный.
2. В проводнике нажимаем Пробел на скачанном файле и в открывшемся окошке нажимаем кнопку «Click here to install this plugin»
3. После появления сообщения об успешной установке плагина перезапускаем QuickLook.

Таким образом вы можете быстро просматривать таблицы, презентации, электронные книги, файлы 3d моделей, установочные APK и пр. без необходимости установки специальных программ для каждого из этих типов файлов!

ProvisionQL – Quick Look for IPA & provision

Inspired by a number of existing alternatives, the goal of this project is to provide clean, reliable, current and open source Quick Look plugin for iOS & macOS developers.

Thumbnails will show app icon for .ipa/ .xcarchive or expiration status and device count for .mobileprovision. Quick Look preview will give a lot of information, including devices UUIDs, certificates, entitlements and much more.

InDesign files: inddPreview

FLIF Images

Phew is an open-source FLIF image viewer and QuickLook plugin for macOS.

The Free Lossless Image Format or FLIF is a novel lossless image format which outperforms PNG, lossless WebP, lossless BPG, lossless JPEG2000, and lossless JPEG XR in terms of compression ratio.

QuarkXPress Projects

QuickLook plug-in version 5.1 for QuarkXPress projects.

It will allow you to see thumbnails of QuarkXPress Projects (.qxp) in Finder and also provide a QuickLook preview for .qxp files created with QuarkXPress 7, 8, 9, 10, 2015 and 2016.

CANON MXF – AVC Codec support

Support for MXF files is included in Canon’s free XF Utility 3.2 for Mac OS X. The other option is Adobe Bridge however it works only intermittently.

Crossword Puzzle Files (PUZ)

This plugin allows you to QuickLook crossword puzzle files (PUZ). PUZ files are the most common way that crossword puzzles are distributed. The New York Times Crossword puzzle site allows you (with a subscription) to download their crosswords in that format.

Quicklook Video

Quicklook Video allows OSX Finder to display thumbnails, previews and metadata for most types of video files.

QuickLook and Spotlight on OSX 10.9 and later understand a limited number of media files – mostly only MPEG audio and video codecs within MPEG container files. This package adds support for wide range of other codecs and “non-native” media file types, including .asf, .avi, .flv, .mkv, .rm, .webm, .wmf etc.

App Bundles

This Quick Look plug-in is a component of SixtyFour. SixtyFour can be obtained at MacUpdate, https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/40405/sixtyfour/.

The Quick Look plug-in included within SixtyFour extends QuickLook’s standard functionality to display extra info: app architectures, app platform info and bundle version. It is no longer required to fire up the Terminal to get the architectures of an app or inspect the property-list file of an app to get the bundle version.

reStructuredText (ReST)

ReST, or reStructuredText is a text processing system for transforming plaintext documentation into other formats. This plugin provides a reST QuickLook viewer implemented in Nimrod.

MP4/MOV Videos

A QuickLook plugin for Mac OS X 10.9 that creates a thumbnail of a video as an icon instead of a generic one. When you trigger QuickLook it displays the thumbnail of the video along with the video information such as its title, size, resolution, and more.

The video information is obtained via mediainfo and the thumbnail is made using ffmpeg.

STL “Stereolithography” Files

STL are “Stereolithography” files, that are 3D files commonly used in 3D printing.

A simple QuickLook plugin to preview .strings files. Contrary to other QuickLook plugins to preview .strings files, this plugin can preview plain text .strings files as well as binary property list .strings files.

It is based on MediaInfo library and shows detailed info about file’s container and data streams including video, audio, subtitles and chapters.

Enables users to just select their Markdown file in Finder and through Quick Look preview them instantly. See how your Markdown file looks on web with just a hit on “Space Bar”.

MP3: qlBitRate

qlBitRate is a QuickLook plugin that will display the bitrate (in kbps) of an MP3 file in the title bar of the QuickLook window. This plugin has been tested to work in at least OS X 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion).

QuickLook Plugins for Developers

Commodore (CBM) & Related

Allows for previewing the content of several types of Commodore (CBM) related types of files:

• Disk images with file names ending with .G64, .D64, .D81, .D71
• Tape images having file names ending with .T64
• Program files – names ending with .PRG and .Pxy

The plugin corrects all known problems other “D64” plugins have, adds several more file types, displays the listings in correct font, follows the original formatting as closely as possible and allows character sets shifting like on a real CBM machine. Preview colours are freely configurable on a per-filetype basis with the supplied preferences application. Plugin supports also GZip compressed files without the need to decompress them first.

Camera RAW

WebP is Google’s new image format and OS X doesn’t recognize the .webp files. This plugin will give you an ability to see previews and thumbnails of WebP images.

DjVu QuickLook is a QuickLook plugin for generating first page previews of djvu documents.

To install, extract and move to /Library/QuickLook folder.

JPEG XR

A plug in for QuickLook on Mac OS X for the JPEG XR file format.

JPEG XR is a neat little image format with a lot of features including

StarCraft II Replay

A Quick Look generator to display useful information about StarCraft II replays. The current version of the plugin (v1.0.0) correctly handles all replays (which range from patch 1.0.2 to 1.4.1).

• Game duration

Mobile Provision files

Code signing can be a pain, but the fact that Xcode gives very little information about a mobile provisioning file does not ease things.

Let me introduce a new QuickLook plugin. This plugin allows you to get a QuickLook preview for all .mobileprovision files.

It gives you the name of the profile, its creation and expiration date, its App ID, and a sorted list of all the UDIDs included.

keys, crls, certificate, csr,and p7b

cert-quicklook is a plug-in for QuickLook to easily generate previews of various unprotected certificate tokens.

Currently includes support for X509 certificates, DER or PEM (ASCII-armored).

Future plans includes extending for other types of data: keys, revocation lists, signing requests, e.t.c.

Tested with MacOS 10.5.8/10.6.6/10.7.1

Lion Compatibility

It has been brought to our attention that some plug-ins do not work with OS X 10.7/Lion.

Since we do not actually develop the plug-ins we list on this site, we cannot investigate each one. Instead we thought we would setup this post to allow for users to comment and allow for discussion on tips and tricks for getting plug-ins to work with 10.7.

QuickLook generator for Nintendo DS ROM image files. Creates thumbnails using game logo image. In preview mode displays also game title and additional info (if any).

X3F RAW image format

A Spotlight importer and QuickLook plugin for the X3F RAW image format for Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6.

Max OSX QuickLook Plugin for previewing NFO files.

Uses libiconv to convert the nfo text to utf8 and then lets WebKit render the output.

Currently, the plugin can only generate a preview.

A QuickLook plugin for CSV files.

The plugin will generate Icons for csv (comma separated) and tsv (tab separated) files and show a preview, along with some information (like num rows/columns).

FictionBook2QL

QuickLook plugin for FB2 e-book file format. Creates thumbnails using cover image. In preview mode displays some additional information like authors and title.

Snow Leopard Compatibility

SneakPeek Photo

The first Quick Look Plugin geared specifically for photographers.

From the plug-in’s website:

“With SneakPeek Photo simply click on the unopened photo file (no matter where it is, even on your card reader) and hit the space bar. Up pops the picture into a large view that immediately gives you the detailed information you need. On the top bar, the much needed basics such as the type of file, its size, f-stop, focal length, color Sfile (sRGB, ProPhoto, etc) even a mini histogram. But there’s much more. ImageFolderQLGenerator is an open-source QuickLook plug-in that creates thumbnails and previews for folders that contain image files. The thumbnails and previews it generates look like the normal folder icons, only with small thumbnails of some of the contained images overlaid on top.
