Realtek ?
(Linux driver (3.0) 5.18rc8 2014/5/21 4597k)
$ lspci |grep Audio 00:14.2 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) 01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1) guitar@guitar:
$ alsactl -v alsactl version 1.0.27.2
ALC888
tar jxvpf LinuxPkg_x.xxrcxx.tar.bz2 tar jxvpf alsa-driver-1.0.xx.tar.bz2 ./configure make make install
Defender Mercury 55 MkII.

You do not add drivers like in Windows. What you need is mostly already in the kernel, but may need some tweaking.
In the terminal type pacmd list-cards and paste the output back here. Also, start a song or video then run pacmd list-sinks in the terminal and include that output as well. This should help determine what’s available to you options and volume wise.
When pasting large blocks of text, please enclose the results in-between [ⅽode] and [/ⅽode] code markers by selecting from the mini toolbar above the textbox where you type your reply.

Ahh, there’s no HDMI available on that mobo, from checking specs here: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. . 6813132696
I would assume the Digital Stereo Output option you have is for S/PDIF as there’s a S/PDIF header on the board, and the specs say there’s 8 channel audio, but I don’t know if your build has an optical port connected to the header. I’m referring to something like this: https://www.amazon.com/SPDIF-Optical-Pl . B01LWNKIKN
As far as I know, all we can do is try to get the volume to a level you can accept. If you run (after installing if necessary) PulseAudio Volume Control, you can increase the volume level as high as 153%. There will be volume sliders on both the Output Devices tab as well as the Playback tab while something with sound is playing.
Hope that helps somewhat.
Oh, as for the Lock screen. I have no idea myself, sorry. I do not lock nor suspend my system ever.

Realtek 8192 Driver Linux Mint 18
Realtek 8192 Driver Linux Mint 18
Post by gwheadon » Thu Jun 30, 2016 7:16 pm
Wifi is still choppy within Linux Mint 18
This sorts it out
This is a repackaging of Realtek’s own 8192CU USB WiFi driver for Linux Mint 18
These devices are known to work with this driver:
— Belkin N300
— TP-Link TL-WN823N
— TRENDnet TEW-648UBM N150
These devices are known not to be supported:
— Alfa AWUS036NHR
— TP-Link WN8200ND
As a rule of thumb, this driver generally works with devices that use the RTL8192CU chipset, and some devices that use the RTL8188CUS, RTL8188CE-VAU and RTL8188RU chipsets too, though it’s more hit and miss.
Devices that use dual antennas are known not to work well. This appears to be an issue in the upstream Realtek driver.
Ensure you have the necessary prerequisites installed:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install git linux-headers-generic build-essential dkms
Clone this repository:
Set it up as a DKMS module:
sudo dkms add ./rtl8192cu-fixes
then go to usr/src drectory added Build a dkms
sudo dkms install 8192cu/1.10
Refresh the module list:
Ensure the native (and broken) kernel driver is blacklisted:
sudo cp ./rtl8192cu-fixes/blacklist-native-rtl8192.conf /etc/modprobe.d/
And reboot. You’re done.
The instructions above should work in every Debian-based distribution. So long as you can install the prerequisites on your own, everything after the line that contains `apt-get` should work in other distributions as well.
There is a known issue with power management on some hardware. If your WiFi connection drops after a few minutes, install the following module setting file to disable power management in your WiFi interface:
sudo cp ./rtl8192cu-fixes/8192cu-disable-power-management.conf /etc/modprobe.d/
And then reboot.

Installing Realtek ethernet driver
Installing Realtek ethernet driver
Post by wimbledon_lime_drive » Sun Nov 22, 2020 7:49 pm
I’m trying to get my ethernet to work and a solution I came upon was to install a driver from here: https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zo . s-software
I downloaded the ‘2.5G Ethernet LINUX driver r8125 for kernel up to 5.6’ onto a different computer and got it onto my Linux computer but I’m really not sure how to install it. Here’s what’s in the driver file:
The README file has ‘quick install’ instructions. But here’s what happens when I follow the first step, ‘unpack the tarball’:
My ‘Network’ info is:
Device-1: Realtek RTL8125 2.5GbE, vendor: Micro-Star MSI, driver: N/A, port: 3000, bus ID: 02:00.0, chip ID: 10ec:8125
I’m totally new to Linux, so any help is appreciated. And I could definitely be mistaken at one or more points along the way so please take my report with a little bit of skepticism

Extract the archive contents using the file manager (right click the archive icon and choose extract here from the list of options). Open that new folder containing the driver, then open a terminal window by right clicking in an empty area of the file manager and choosing the option to do so which may be in an actions sub-menu) and type in the following command and then press enter. You will need to enter your password.
If it comes up with any more errors, please copy the text and paste it rather than posting screenshots.

RTL8822x Firmware for GNU/Linux
The files in this repository are taken from Linux Mint 19.3 and will allow a Realtek RTL8822 b or c card to work on other distributions.
If you have trust issues, you can always boot with Mint 19.3 and take the files from there to use.
Log in with your favorite distribution, preferably with a new Kernel, as this has only been tested with 5.4+ Unload non-working modules from the Kernel, with:
You can run lsmod to see if they are named somehow differently in your OS, in case you do not run Debian.
Copy the files from this repo to your system, change the kernel path as needed! Load the modules with modprobe rtw88 and the WiFi should work.
It is unclear to me whether the /usr files are needed or if everything will work with just the files under /lib . Feel free to open an issue about this.
Did you rename the paths to work with with your current Kernel?
Usage on Debian Installer
Either on the graphical, text or live installer, open a terminal and do the above procedure before the installer checks for WiFi cards. The resulting installation will work out of the box and you do not need to copy the files again.
- Huawei Matebook D14 (2020) with AMD 3500U. (Probaly same as D15)
The following issues are not related to the network card, but to the AMD CPU/GPU. Since these two are commonly found together, I document the fixes here.
If you have issues with the installer not starting use a newer Kernel. The ISO files listed above are fine as are the STABLE ones from Debian.
If you have glitches with your screen (artifacts) disable compositing.
