Well that’s a real kick in the pants. I still run 32-bit because most of my favorite plugins will never be 64-bit.

I feel you’re pain because I’ve been in the same situation. Some of my most heavily used plugins were 32-bit only and some will forever remain so. For me the wrapper 32 Lives works perfectly. It’s an extra investment, but you can literally save your 32-bit plugins from extinction. Disclaimer: I am not in any way affiliated with the maker of this program nor am I paid to say this.

I finally wrote to NI after being frustrated with their ‘free’ plugins. I’ve tried Supercharger, Transient Master, Driver, and now Replika…and every single one of them stops working after one use and forces you to re-authorize over and over again. Same thing happens on both my desktop and laptop. It’s such a shame, because these freebies are great.

I never experienced that with any of them. TRhey work great, and the only time I need to re-authorize them is after the yearly computer formatting.

Same here. I didn’t register my free copy of Driver until about 2 years later and it still worked like a charm.

i just tried it a few mins ago and I’ve gotta say, it’s pretty cool. It’s normally $50 if that tells you anything. When I was downloading it I saw it say something about if you run 32 bit to “click this” and it would give you the other. I run 64 bit so I don’t know for sure but it was just something I remember.

I doubt there is a 32bit option for Mac as the system requirements section explicitly states: Mac OS X 10.8, 10.9 or 10.10 (latest update), Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM. Please note that on OS X, REPLIKA only runs in 64-bit hosts.

I’ve gotten all their freebies, and never had an issue with authorization. Skanner was awesome, Supercharger was great . . . I expect this will be, too.

Hey Solovox, some people running these massive Xeon multicore systems reported the issue you describe when using NI software. Perhaps you’re one of those? You might wanna get in touch with their support.

Hmm…interesting. I’m using a quad i7 laptop and a quad i5 desktop and it happens on both of them. Hopefully tech support has some ideas.

Btw, great delay. Using it now for a live project I am preperring. Simple and straght to the point.

I’m having nooby troubles setting it to 32 bit. At the end of the installation it said something about “get info” on the app and tick 32 bit but I can find a replika.app… where did it put it?

you can’t. it’s 64bit only.

Dude, they were talking about the host app…durr. Run the host in 32bit mode…but really if you are truly “new” to music production why chain yourself to some antique 32bit plugins from the 2000s? I can see if you’re like 45 years old and all your classic 2008 brostep wobble presets are for sylenth, but otherwise why let yourself get stuck in the past?

What they were saying is if you run your host in 32bit mode you can’t see Replika, which means you actually need to uncheck the 32bit mode box…but if you don’t like the future i wouldn’t use Apple technology, which ruthlessly discards legacy tech. there are tons of “Windows XP For Life!” types on the pc side tho so maybe that’s more your style.

What does Native Instruments decision to make this plugin 64bit only have anything to do with Apple?

Very nice delay, out performs many high end and expensive delays that I own. If you use the NI service center app to authorize it you shouldn’t have any issues. This could be a great delay I am very impressed with the sound quality in particular especially in the modern setting. I run a lot of Lecicon, Eventide, and Waves delays and I must say this Free delay hangs with and at times surpasses the mentioned ones. Well done NI and thankyou!

I got all excited about getting a free spare power supply for my S4 and was bitterly disappointed to learn that all I could spend the voucher on was some crappy “remix packs” or KOMPLETE instruments or what have you. Anyone want my voucher code??

It’s nice to finally find something on this site that isn’t all about software for IOS. I had almost given up on the site as a portal for novelty phone software! What’s with that? Who in their right mind would use IOS for serious music production? Likewise, who in their right mind would buy a mac these days when you can buy the same spec PC for less than half the price? Most decent DAWs are available for Windows these days and there are very simple ways to run those that don’t. I have Logic Pro 9 running in an OSX virtual machine on VMWare on my i7 Laptop. It runs really well and it only took me editing the Logic installer with a text editor to get it working (you have to tell it not to check for Apple’s VGA controller being present). I can still run Windows based software at the same time!
Buying Apple kit these days is nothing more than a fashion statement, anyone who’s serious about what they’re doing and don’t have money to burn would buy a PC

I’m having some trouble with this. I’ve downloaded it onto my mac but don’t even know enough about computers to know how to run the host in 32-bit. If anyone can be bothered giving me the idiots guide to getting this working I’d appreciate it
