sudo zypper ar http://packman.inode.at/suse/openSUSE_11.4/packman.repo

sudo zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/11.4:/Contrib/standard/openSUSE:11.4:Contrib.repo

sudo zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/games/openSUSE_11.4/games.repo

  1. openSUSE BuildService — Database

sudo zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/database/openSUSE_11.4/server:database.repo

  1. openSUSE BuildService — KDE:UpdatedApps

sudo zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/UpdatedApps/openSUSE_11.4/KDE:UpdatedApps.repo

  1. openSUSE BuildService — Education

sudo zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Education/openSUSE_11.4/Education.repo

  1. openSUSE BuildService — Drivers for webcams

sudo zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/drivers:/webcam/openSUSE_11.4/drivers:webcam.repo

Ogg Theora.
Воспользуйтесь Firefox, Konqueror или Opera.

http://software.opensuse.org/

On-disk official repositories

The first repositories that you may have seen are the DVDs. You can have several sorts of such repositories, with different contents. None of them, including the huge two layer DVD of the boxed version, includes all the openSUSE packages, so you will also need the online repositories if possible.

  • The downloadable DVD is one single layer 4.7 GB DVD. It hosts the most important packages, but this makes only a very small subset of the whole openSUSE.
  • The boxed DVD consist of a double layer DVD and is available from your dealer for a fee that includes installation support. But even this double DVD doesn’t hold all the openSUSE packages.

Using online repositories

  • For YaST, there is no difference between online (internet) and on disk (DVD or hard drive) repositories, all the packages are seen as if they are on a very big drive.
  • If you keep your computer always connected via a broadband connection, you can remove the «repository» OSS DVD if you install the standard online repository below.
  • If you have enough disk space, you can also download a repository snapshot, but be advised that this can take up to 20 GB or even more.

Official Repositories

The following is a list of official repositories supported by openSUSE.

The main repository: open source software only.

Additional package repositories

Contents

Packman

Packman offers various additional packages for openSUSE, especially but not limited to multimedia related applications and libraries that are on the openSUSE Build Service application blacklist. It’s the largest external repository of openSUSE packages. Packman is comprised of the following four repositories:

  • Essentials: provides codecs and audio and video player applications, to fulfill the most essential needs
  • Multimedia: contains many more multimedia related applications
  • Extra: additional non multimedia related applications, mostly network related
  • Games: obviously, games

The repositories above may be added individually be appending their name to the end of the URLs below. The latter three repositories are built upon Essentials and as such it must be added to utilize them.

Version: Tumbleweed All of Packman (for all supported architectures)

Version: Leap All of Packman (for all supported architectures)

Version: Tumbleweed Packman Essentials (for all supported architectures)

Version: Leap Packman Essentials (for all supported architectures)

After adding packman repository be sure to switch system package to those in packman as a mix of both can cause a variety of issues.

Version: all Packman

Version: all Packman-Essentials

sudo zypper dup —from packman-essentials —allow-vendor-change

To pick a mirror near you, please consult the mirror list on the Packman site.

VLC VideoLan client

VLC Repositories for openSUSE contains all the required libraries that are not shipped with original openSUSE. (VLC is also provided by Packman, do not add both repositories.)

Cause

Additional Information

The primary goals with SUSE Package Hub are:

  • Provide quality packages
  • Protect customer investment in SUSE support
  • Ease of use

Regarding support:

  • No commercial support from SUSE
  • Community maintained/supported
  • SUSE does NOT support the packages themselves nor any issues related to the packages

KDE is one of the most interesting examples in Package Hub for customers. The only required architecture is x86_64, all others are optional (although they are usually available).

More information is available at https://packagehub.suse.com

https://packagehub.suse.com/support/
While the packages from the SUSE Package Hub are not officially supported by SUSE, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server remains supported and supportable when using these packages.

The software delivered by the SUSE Package Hub comes without guarantees of functionality and without commercial support services from SUSE. That means that while we hope the software is useful for our customers, we are not offering support in the context of «how to use» the software, or resolving any defects. On the other hand we want SUSE Package Hub to be useful and based on user feedback will do our best to keep it that way.

While there is no commercial support from SUSE, can I file a bugreport ?
Yes! Since the packages in SUSE Package Hub are community maintained your feedback is always welcome. Feel free to open a bugreport at SUSE Bugzilla for Package Hub related issues.
The bugreport should contain:

  • Problem related to a software package from SUSE Package Hub
  • Troubleshooting steps taken related to the software package from SUSE Package Hub
  • Suggestion for an enhancement
