Is there a fix, I have read so many post. one which originally started all the way back in 2009 on Microsoft forums.

I am having 10.6+ MAC OS X remote into Windows Server 2008 R2 64 Bit Standard and they are getting the above error. I have heard of solutions but can not find one that works when I test it.

The Server works perfectly fine for Windows PCs and I am using CoRD at the moment which works but the managers of the company dislike it and want to use Remote Desktop provided by Microsoft.

Try changing the Remote Desktop settings on the servers to «Allow any version» (middle option, less secure). Some clients still don’t support the latest RDP.

Already have done this.

The issue is RDC only works technically with 10.6 not Lion or Mountain Lion .7 and .8.

However I see RDC working in corporate situations of other companies. Also have heard people find solutions but they never detail what the solution actually is.

I can anecdotally say that RDC works on 10.7 and 10.8 when connecting to 2008R2. Are you using the most recent RDC version 2.1.1?

I use RDC 2.1.1 on 10.8 to connect to Server 2008 R2 all the time. No special settings needed aside from allowing any version to relax the security.

This is a post of my issue. A lot of people seem to be having issues also.

I use RDC on Mountain Lion connecting to WinSrv2008, 2003, XP, and 7. I don’t have any issues, but that doesn’t fix your problem.

I see this problem with the terminal server licensing is not functioning. When the licensing services isn’t working temporary licenses are issued to Windows (XP/Vista/7) Home and Mac clients. Windows pro versions do not seems to be impacted. Temporary licenses are only valid for 90 days. After 90 days you have to remove the temporary licenses from the client. Fix for Windows clients is well documented (delete the TSLicensing key). Using CoRD on the Mac can be a temporary fix but I’ve seen the license will expire with it as well.

IFor Mac clients

Delete the contents of:
«/Users/Shared/Microsoft/RDC Crucial Server Information».

Attempt to reconnect to the server.

If it fails change the permissions on the folder using this command.
Terminal window:
sudo chmod -R g+w /Users/Shared/Microsoft/

Hi Guys I know this is an old post but I thought this update might be usefully to all.

1.Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac is not intended for use with Mac OS X v10.7 (Lion) or later.

2. Microsoft have provided me with following information;

I want to inform you, that there is no more work being done on the Mac RDC client at this time. And once users move to Lion or Mountain Lion it is not supported.
That is to say if we will find a bug it will not be fixed, even not on Snow Leopard.
So planning for the future it makes sense to move from the RDC client example to «Cord» or «itap». Because you never know what update from Apple is going to break it.

3. The issue you a facing is down to the client and nothing else. Microsoft has provided us with a V2.1.2 RDP App but I cannot release any more about this. This has resolved the problem we faced

Frustrating, unusable

I was forced to download this after finding that my PC (at home) saved one of my excel files as a .PFILE… (note: without asking me to confirm, it did this. Strike one, microsoft)

After digging and finding this app and attempting to use it to open my file here, I found the app to be unusable. I have a solid internet connection and the app simply spins, without giving me any indication of what it’s doing. Now, I’m without my important files until I get back home to my PC. Very frustrating and damaging to my work.

I will be switching to Open Office 100% of the time after this. Unacceptable.

Worked perfectly

Read the whitepaper. Our Information Protection admin was able to secure a document which I was able to open without an issue after installing this applet. The program itself doesn’t seem to do anything except make the authentication connection to the Azure rights management system. Documents still open directly with the existing Office application and new documents have the option to use our org’s defined security levels.

Users who rate this low are likely not using the proper Office 365 Security license or don’t know what the program is supposed to do.

Does nothing

Was made to download this after being sent a protected file and it does nothing and I have no idea how to open said file now. Tried for my phone and computer. Nothing.

When you try to start an Adobe CS3 application, you receive the error «License has expired,» and the application does not start.

Solution

Replace the Adobe CS3 beta or prerelease serial number with your retail serial number.

• Windows XP: Remove CS3 using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

I just received a computer voice phone call saying my Microsoft license key has expired and soon my computer will stop working. To prevent that, I must call back and reference a number that was spoken by the computer voice. Here’s the phone number I was called on. 574-444-7543. I called that number back and got a real person (Indian accent). I told him I have never heard of such a thing and how do I know I’m actually talking to a Microsoft authorized person? He gave me some bull about, “how would they know my license had expired if they weren’t from Microsoft? I told him I would call back later and hung up. WHERE DO WE REPORT THESE CRIMINALS? WHO IS GOING AFTER THESE PEOPLE? HOW DO I FILE A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT? WHAT IS MICROSOFT DOING ABOUT THESE THINGS? I HAVEN’T EVEN SEEN AN EMAIL FROM MICROSOFT EITHER DESCRIBING SUCH A LICENSE ISSUE, NOR TELLING US THAT THIS IS A FRAUD AND DO NOT FALL FOR IT.
