IT admins use Microsoft Endpoint Manager to apply a standard, cloud-based, easy-to-manage configuration of Windows 10 to a selected set of new or existing devices. The configuration works on devices running Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Enterprise and may be appropriate for workers who only need a limited number of IT-curated and approved applications to meet their targeted workflow needs. User accounts are registered in Azure Active Directory and devices are enrolled for cloud management in Intune so they are automatically updated with continuous product and security updates.

No. Cloud configuration is NOT a new version, edition, or mode of Windows so there is no dependency on new hardware, and there are no operating system restrictions to worry about. In short, cloud config is a standardized, easy-to-manage configuration that can be applied to devices PC running Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Enterprise, or Windows 10 Education. It is deployed using Microsoft Endpoint Manager.

Any supported semi-annual channel version of Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Enterprise, or Windows 10 Education can be used. Please see the Overview and Setup Guide for details.

Cloud configuration is ready to go today and can be deployed to any devices for which you have a valid Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Enterprise, or Windows 10 Education license. Similar to how Windows 10 devices are managed today, cloud config can be applied, removed, and changed anytime using Microsoft Endpoint Manager.

Is it possible to install Windows with my own license?

Yes, but it must be done manually. For this, the CD/DVD images can be used.

What versions are available?

• Windows Server 2012 R2 (DE/EN/RU/Language Pack)

Why is the time on my server not correct?

All CX virtual server hosts use UTC as the system time, which is why Windows often has a problem with the system time within the vServers.

What should be kept in mind during a manual installation?

To install Windows, it is necessary that the VirtIO drivers are installed. The driver can, for example, be mounted and installed via an ISO image (virtio-win-latest[…].iso).

The folders of the necessary drivers are named as follows:

Each of them will usually have a folder with the architecture (amd64). This must be selected to install the drivers.

To get to the selection of the available CD/DVD images, you must select your server in the Cloud Console and switch to the «ISO IMAGES» tab. You must then select the ISO and mount it with a click on „MOUNT“

Now you can start your server and perform the installation normally up to the point where the installation asks for the installation type. Please select the custom installation and continue with the installation. If you get a blue screen, please switch your server off and on with the ON/OFF switch.

Now proceed up to the point where the installation searches for the drive. At this point, you have to switch the image to the latest available VirtIO driver CD.

Subsequently, the below mentioned drivers need to be installed.

Each of the folders will usually have a subfolder with the architecture (amd64). This must be selected to install the drivers.

After installing the driver you need to switch back to the previously used Windows Image.

Now, you have to delete and format the drives. Finally, you can resume the installation as normal.

For instance, to launch VLC player, navigate to the Media category, move the mouse over VLC player icon, and then click Execute in browser button to run the program in a new tab. At times, it might take a couple of seconds (5 to 10 seconds) to execute the selected program.

Add your favorite apps

In addition to that, if you find that your program is not available in the list, you can upload your favorite program with a few mouse clicks by registering with the service (free). To do so, after signing in to your Cameyo account, click Add App option located in the sidebar, select Create a new Cameyo package (from software installer), enter the URL to installer of the application, and then click Submit button. This way, you can add your favorite programs with a click without having to download anything to your PC.

Alternatively, as you can see in the above picture, you could also upload an installer from your PC. All newly added application appear under My Apps tab. The apps you added will be stored for a maximum of 7 days but the provision to stored app packages in Dropbox solves the issue. You need to connect to your Dropbox account to save new apps in Dropbox.

As you can see, the interface of CAMEYO is easy-to-navigate. Although some of the applications available on Cameyo are not up-to-date, you can add latest version of those applications by following the above mentioned method. For instance, the Opera app was last updated in April 2014 but most of the apps are up-to-date.
