For the second time, I’m getting the recognition issue. I cannot remember for the life of me what I did last time, but this time it refuses to be recognized. It works on other computers, and worked on this one yesterday. Nothing has changed on this computer. The firmware program will not work if the device is still unrecognized. There needs to be much more support around this error.

My samson Go Mic Connect it’s getting recognized as «USB Advanced Audio Device» since yesterday, i’ve tried at 3 different computers and i get the same result. Even i’ve tried reinstalling the drivers.

I need help i cant use any of the mic features because windows keeps installing it with generic USB mic drivers

I am having this problem now as well.

I followed the steps suggested in the attached PDF. What I discovered is that the VID and PID of the microphone as reported to Windows is NOT correct. It is reporting VID_0D8C&PID_0170 which is a C-Media Electronics Inc Advanced Audio Device.

The correct VID and PID should be 17A0_0240 for a Samson Go Mic Connect.

This happens if I plug the mic directly to my laptop, or through a USB hub.

My 1 usb port is not working, it is almost 1 year I am using only one port.

Laptop details: Dell Inspiron 3584

Can someone recommend me any internal solution instead of saying «Update drive» because it is updated already.

Will be waiting for any valuable suggestion.

It seems I having a problem similar to Mr. Chris Fischer. My mic is a C01u pro and it is reporting the same VID and PID as his mic (VID_0D8C&PID_0170) without apparent cause. Unfortunately, I live in Brasil and technical assistance costs are impracticable. It seems the product lost its original firmware.

Can someone from the samsom support provide us the original firmware for the Samson Go Mic Connect please?

Making sure the Samson drivers are installed and up to date

After running the Installation program, with the mic plugged in, check in Device Manager to see if the drivers have been loaded. This can be reached by right-clicking My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager button.

If the Samson drivers are loaded, the device under Sound, video and game controllers will be Samson Audio (WDM), and the device under Universal Serial Bus controllers will be Samson C01U. ( Samson C01U may be changed to a more generic name for all our similar microphones.)

If the drivers aren’t loaded, the system drivers are used. The Samson microphone then shows up under Sound, video and game controllers as USB Audio Device and under Universal Serial Bus controllers as USB Composite Device.

Right-click on the devices and select Properties to see the driver information. Under the Driver tab it will show the driver currently in use. The following box shows the system driver:

To update it, click Update Driver.

Choose «Install from a list or specific location».

Choose «Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install.»

Press the Have Disk… button.

Press the Browse… button. Navigate to «C:\Program Files\ Samson \ Samson C01U» and select the .inf file.

Press the Open button. Choose the Samson driver from the list and press Next.

As it’s installing, you will see several prompts that say the driver has not passed Windows Logo testing. Press Continue Anyway.

When the installation is complete, press Finish.

Now do the same procedure for the other device if it doesn’t do it automatically. (You should do this for both USB Audio Device and USB Composite Device.)

After you’re done, their names should change under Device Manager. The device under Sound, video and game controllers will become Samson Audio (WDM), and the device under Universal Serial Bus controllers will become Samson C01U. ( Samson C01U may be changed to a more generic name for all our similar microphones.)

The Driver listed under the Driver tab should be different for each, too. Make sure the latest version is shown in the Driver tab for both devices (here it is 1.0.15.0).

If the driver is not the correct version, you should be able to find the latest version by pressing the Update Driver… button.
