What’s new in Video-SL 1.1.1?

The latest Video-SL software is version 1.1.1, it updates Video-SL to be Snow Leopard (Mac OS 10.6) compatible. 1.1.1 also offers support for the Rane SL 1 and SL 3, as well as many features including:

• Video files can now be previewed and managed in the Scratch Live offline player.
• MIDI control now enables you to use 3rd party controllers with Video-SL.
• New Audio Responsive effects let the music control a variety of live video effects. These vary from Bass Zoom to Splits and are controlled by analyzing the music signal.
• Video Instant Doubles allows you to play the same video and effects on a second deck.
• Effects are now stored with each video file for instant recall.
• External video mixing allows you to setup different output configurations in the control panel of Video-SL’s setup mode. Choose from Output Only, L/R prefader or all 3 outputs for greater flexibility.

There is a known issue with the Early 2015 Mac range and Serato Scratch Live with Serato Video compatibility. A number of users have reported blank preview windows and a white output screen. The cause of the issue is currently unknown, but is not present in Serato DJ. For users with supported hardware, we recommend using Serato DJ instead, as Scratch Live is discontinued.

Tightly mapped software controls give you low latency control over performance features in Scratch Live.

Control your Scratch Live library with your CDJ-2000nexus. See full color album artwork, waveform, cue/loop points and other important track information on the CDJ-2000nexus color display.

MIDI Output Lighting

Now supported with Scratch Live 2.5 MIDI Output Lighting enables the LEDs on your MIDI controller to light up when used with Scratch Live.

We’ve teamed up with our hardware partners to provide you with some presets for some of the coolest controllers out there.

Scratch Live 2.5 Bug Fixes

Alongside these key features Scratch Live 2.5 also includes bug fixes to continue the unparalleled level of stability and performance that Serato software is known for.

Some examples of the bug fixes are:

• Mixtape .als recordings now work with Ableton Live 9.
• Fixed a bug where the beatgrid lock wasn’t being saved and loaded to/from the file; it was only being saved to the database.
• The Sixty-Eight record source is now correctly loaded from preferences.
• Fixed a bug where the CDJ-350 was sending both MIDI and HID messages which meant it could possibly fire two different Scratch Live events at the same time.
• Fixed a bug where the DJFX deck assignments wouldn’t save to preferences if going from being ‘on’ initially, to ‘off’.

Serato DJ 1.8.1

Serato DJ 1.8.1 is the latest update that includes important stability improvements for all users as well as support for some Pioneer device specific drivers for Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan.

OS X El Capitan‎ / Windows 10 Support

Serato DJ 1.8.1 now brings official support for OS X El Capitan and Windows 10. Please note that supported El Capitan drivers are included in this release, however Rane hardware drivers are not yet supported.

Key Detection

Now when you analyze your tracks, Serato DJ will detect the key. Use the colored key display for quick and easy key recognition. Choose to display the key in Camelot, Open Key, Classical Key or Original Tag.

Pitch ‘n Time DJ Update

This free update for P’nT DJ owners lets you key shift your tracks +/- 12 semitones or instantly sync the key of one deck to another.

Hardware Support

Plug and play support for the Pioneer DJM-S9. The new 2-channel battle mixer specifically designed for use with Serato DJ.

Hardware Remapping

You can now remap your supported controller or mixer to change what Serato DJ functionality it controls.

Serato DJ 1.8.1 now brings official support for OS X El Capitan and continued support for Windows 10. Please note that some supported El Capitan drivers are included in this release, however some drivers are not yet available to us / or supported and we recommend reading this El Capitan Support Article before updating.
