Суть технологии SharePort заключается в том, что устройства, подключенные к USB-портам интернет-маршрутизаторов, становятся доступными для использования на компьютерах в сети, а передача USB-сигнала между устройством и персональными компьютерами осуществляется по протоколу TCP/IP. Таким образом, можно организовать совместный доступ пользователей к USB-устройствам из любой точки сети.

Утилита D-Link SharePort™ Network USB обеспечивает совместное использование в сети USB-устройств, включая внешние устройства хранения информации и принтеры/многофункциональные устройства (МФУ). Для этого достаточно просто подключить выбранное устройство к маршрутизатору D-Link, поддерживающему данную функцию. Такой способ организации совместного доступа пользователей к внешнему устройству хранения или принтеру является хорошей альтернативой подключения этих устройств к локальному компьютеру.

Ограничением данной технологии является следующее:
Одновременно использовать устройства, подключенные к USB-порту роутера, может только один пользователь. Для использования устройства другим компьютером, на первом компьютере необходимо отключить утилиту SharePort.

Системные требования
• Windows® 2000/2003/XP/Vista® 32-бит
• Pentium 3 800ГГц или выше
• 256MB RAM и выше
• CD-ROM
• Совместимый маршрутизатор D-Link

Поддержка SharePort реализована в следующих моделях маршрутизаторов компании D-Link
DIR-628, DIR-655, DIR-825, DIR-855.

Как настроить?
Зайдите в настройки маршрутизатора по адресу 192.168.0.1
Перейдите в меню Setup > USB Settings и в строке «My USB type is:» выберите «Shareport».

Подключите USB устройство к маршрутизатору.

Установите прогрумму SharePort. В трее (в правом нижнем углу монитора) появится значек D-Link SharePort network USB utility. Нажмите по нему правой кнопкой мыши, наведите курсор на «dlinkrouter – 192.168.0.1» и кликните по «Включить».

Нажмите по иконке в трее левой кнопкой мыши. Появится окно:

Нажмите по определившемуся устройству левой кнопкой мыши и подключите его.

USB устройство готово к использованию.

Одновременно использовать устройства подключенные к USB-порту роутера может только один пользователь. Для использования устройства другим компьютером, на первом компьютере необходимо отключить утилиту SharePort.
Кликните по значку утилиты в трее правой кнопкой мыши, наведите курсор на «dlinkrouter – 192.168.0.1» и кликните по «Отключить».

Совместное использование Многофункционального устройства (МФУ).

1.Подведите курсор к Waiting to Connect и нажмите на Manage Device.

2. Нажмите Yes на вопрос “Do you want to install the printer software or MFP utility?” (Установить ПО принтера или утилиту МФУ?)

3. Вставьте диск CDROM с драйвером для принтера / МФУ и следуйте инструкциям по установке. Когда в процессе установки будет предложено подключить принтер к компьютеру, нажмите Next.

4. Утилита D-Link Network USB обеспечит виртуальное подключение принтера/МФУ. Нажмите Next.

5. Выберите драйвер принтера, который будет использоваться для автоматического подключения к устройству в момент печати с помощью утилиты D-Link Network USB.

Сканирование

Подведите курсор к Available for Use и нажмите на Scan Now.

How to install the D-Link SharePort utility and use it for an external storage device?

Step 1: You can download the SharePort ™ utility for your router at support.dlink.com and navigate to the Application section of the page and download the latest SharePort ™ utility.

Note: You must have the latest firmware for your router which adds the SharePort™ feature.

Step 2: The file you have downloaded is a zip file. You will need to extract the content in that file to a location you can navigate to, such as your Desktop. After extracting the file, navigate to the location you´ve extracted the file to, open the folder and double click on the Setup32 executable file to begin installation.

Step 3: An Install Wizard will start. Select your language and Click Next to continue.

Step 4: The wizard will then ask you to close any running programs. Click Next to begin.

Step 5: The wizard will then ask you where you would like to install the utility. Click Next to continue.

Step 6: Select a Start Menu Folder and click Next to continue.

Step 7: Click Start to begin installation.

Step 8: The wizard will continue to install the utility.

Step 9: Click Finish.

Step 10: The utility will detect if you have anything connected to the USB port of the router.

Step 11: Connect any external storage device to the USB port of the router. The SharePort™ utility will detect the storage device .

Step 12: Click Connect the USB device icon to connect to the drive or Disconnect the USB device to disconnect.

Step 13: You can open the SharePort™ utility by double-clicking the USB icon located in the system tray of the bottom right-hand corner where the time is.

You should now be able to view content in your storage device.

I got the DSL-2890AL and was quite excited about file sharing over the network. I have been using home networking since the days when there were the Cobolt servers devices.

However fast forward to 2014, more than 10 years into the future, I could not get the files from the shared drive. Then I found the software called SharePort Plus however that did not resolve the matter there, To connect to the shared drive, it needs to connect to the Router and for that it takes ONLY the ADMIN account password and no other. This is the worst method of sharing any resources on the network. Why do we create accounts when the only way to connect is using the admin account? Disappointed at this.
