Lol, window open and blow the smoke outside of the window, if you have any fabreeze keep it handy just in case.and if you have a door put some towels under the door to prevent the smoke from leaking through the door.
It’s hard to say because there are many factors. If you have a strong vent in your bathroom place towels under the door, and you could probably smoke and then shower after that. Keep the towels under the door until you leave. Smoke smell would seep out the bathroom slightly when you leave but keep the vent on and the door closed or slightly open. Don’t spray Febreeze or anything like that. All it does is makes the room smellike Febreeze it doesn’t cover up smoke.
If you smoke in a room with a window you would want to close off vents and place a towel under the door. Blow the smoke out the window, and if possible stick your head out. Be sure to wear a sweater and possibly a hat until you are done smoking. Then take it off and place clothes on top of them so the smoke from the clothes doesn’t linger. If you have any keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in your room. Rub it in your hands and immediately after it dries up rub your hair, it takes away some of the smoke scent. If you have any, spray some deoderant on you but a VERY short spray. And only on you. Febreeze or anything like that makes the smoke smell worse. If need be use a bit of deodorant stick on you. After done smoking take a fan and set it on low next to the window. If you have no fan then take something and fan the room. Don’t fan the room while you smoke, the smoke could seep through cracks in the door. If you have a damp towel AFTER you showered take that and fan the room. The fresh scent of the damp towel will help collect smoke smell and disperse any. Don’t go out of the room for about 40 minutes. If you are hungry then make some ramen before you smoke and eat it after. It will also make your room smell more like ramen/soup. The more dirty and smelly your room to begin with, the less smoke lingers.
This is for educational purposes only. I do not recommend or suggest anyone underage smoke, smoke inside buildings, or smoke at all.
Go outside. Either way, you WILL be able to smell smoke. Your parents will defiantly notice if you do it inside. Just sneak outside, smoke, and change clothes.
How to Smoke in Your Room Without Smelling It
If you’ve found yourself with the urge to smoke, but you’re stuck indoors, there may still be options.
Of course, it’s always best to smoke outdoors, since there is better ventilation and the smoke has more areas to dissipate into (that aren’t parts of your home).
But with that in mind, if you’re still needing to smoke indoors, we have a few tricks on how you can smoke in your room without smelling it.
If you’d rather watch our video guide we’ve got it below:
1. Turn on an air purifier.
One of the best ways to treat indoor smoke is by turning on an air purifier. Air purifiers work by pulling air from the environment through a series of filters to remove harmful particles, bacteria, and odors.
Once the air is cleaned, it’s redistributed back through the vent
For the best odor control, try to find a purifier that has an activated charcoal or carbon filter. This filter is the most effective way for an air purifier to remove odors from the air and can make a noticeable difference
Close up of the HEPA and charcoal-based filters
Here are some of our top recommendations for air purifiers with carbon filters:
BUDGET OPTION: For a budget option that uses the same charcoal material, consider the Smoke Buddy.
This product allows you to inhale as you would normally, but as you exhale, you exhale into the device which filters the smoke into the Smoke Buddy, drastically limiting the amount of smoke that can escape into your room.

2. Open a window.
Where you can, try and open up a window while you smoke.
The open window provides more ventilation and gives the smoke an area to exit so that it doesn’t linger in the room and settle. Once it’s settled, it can be harder to remove the smoke smell.
As you smoke, try to exhale directly out of the open window. Again, this helps to get the smoke out of the room as quick as possible. The longer it lingers, the longer it lasts.
3. Close any air vents.
Now this one may seem counter-intuitive, but be sure to close off any interior air vents.
Smoke that gets into the air vent can be easily sucked through your HVAC system and travel to many rooms in the house in a short amount of time.
This is especially critical if you’re trying to secretly smoke in an interior room of the house. Parents, roommates, spouses, or children can quickly detect smoke that travels through the air vents into adjacent rooms.
How to quickly close an air vent?
Most air vents have little metal levers that slide forward and back, opening or closing the vent. For added protection, you can also tape a plastic bag or piece of paper on top of the vent.
If you block the vent, be sure to take it off after you’re done smoking to return proper ventilation to the space as well as not raise any suspicion.
4. Put a wet towel by the closed door.
With blocked vents inside the room, the last line of defense against the smoke sneaking out is to protect the air gap at the bottom of the door.
Just like smoke can sneak through vents, it can also go under doors.
For a quick fix, throw a towel or a pile of clothes on the floor by the door. This extra fabric helps to keep the smoke from exiting the room.
For even better coverage, try getting the towel wet. Smoke has more trouble traveling through moisture so this is just an extra barrier.
Smoking in the Boys Room…
Remember that song “smoking in the boys room”, a 1970’s classic about lighting up in the bathroom? Not only was this song immensely popular, but they may have been onto something.
Smoking in bathrooms hold a few bit advantages over other rooms.
Advantages of smoking in bathrooms
- Tile floors reject odors: Most bathrooms have tile or linoleum floor, both of which are better at resisting a smoke smell compared to carpeted floors.
- Wet towels make sense: Using the wet towel trick, it can be hard to smoke and use a wet towel at the base of the door in any room besides a bathroom. If you get caught, a wet towel is just not going to make sense in any other setting.
- Turn on the shower: If you want to keep people from barging in and catching you mid-smoke, try turning on the shower. The steam will help to absorb the smoke and it guarantees a level of privacy.
5. Put your hair up & limit clothing.
Smoke sticks to whatever it comes in contact with. If you’re trying to sneak a quick smoke, try to limit these items.
- If you have long hair, put it up in a ponytail or bun and get it away from your face.
- Take off any jackets or long pants and instead opt for tank tops, shorts, and other tighter fitted clothing.
- You will likely want to change your clothes immediately after you smoke anyway to hide the smell, so it’s just easier if you limit yourself to just the basics.
6. Mask the smell.
Whether you choose to smoke in the bathroom or any other room, it helps to use something to mask the smell of smoke.
You can use:
- Candles
- Essential oil diffusers
- Plug-in air fresheners
- Spray can air fresheners
For the best results, light or turn on the fragrance dispenser before you start smoking. Then light up and enjoy your smoke.
When you’re finished, douse the cigarette in cold water and allow the air freshener to continue to run. This helps to make sure that all the smoke smell is covered up.
If you’re extra concerned, you can even leave the freshener running after you’ve left, but be sure to monitor it (especially if it’s a candle).
7. Keep it short.
Every extra minute that you spend taking a drag is one extra minute that smoke has to spread and settle into your surroundings. For the sneakiest smokes, try to limit yourself to just a couple minutes.
Keeping it short, as well as following the tips listed above, you can certainly have a quick smoke without leaving lasting impressions in the room.
8. Freshen up.
Last, but not least, remember to freshen up after you’re done smoking.
One of the biggest misconceptions that smokers may have is that people can’t smell the smoke because they can’t smell it.
In most cases, this simply is not true.
Think of it like a painter on the job. They are sitting in the midst of the fumes for a prolonged period of time. When they leave, they may think the air smells, but in most cases the smell of the paint can linger on their clothes or body.
The same can be said for smoke.
After you’re finished smoking, follow the fresh checklist below to help get rid of any smoke smell that could still be on your body.
- Brush your teeth
- Take a shower
- Wash your face
- Wash your body
- Wash your hair
- Change into fresh clothes

smoking in my windowless bathroom?
I’m trying to smoke in my windowless bathroom with a fan and with the spoof (dryer sheet thing device) and turning on the shower all the way to fully hot, and with odor removing spray, will this get rid of the smell?
I’m also smoking a bowl.

Well, those will all help mask the smell , but it has a verrrry distinct smell. Keep in mind that you are exhaling through the spoof, but what happens to the smoke from the cherry in the bowl? Try your bedroom , light some candle, put a towel at the crack of the door and do everything else the same, but maybe sit in front of the window. If you are willing to go to desperate measures then I would even hang a blanket over the whole opening of your door so no smoke gets out of the cracks, and of course lock it if you have that option. Also there are all sorts of tips for hiding smoking in the Official High Times Pot Smokers Handbook: Featuring 420 things to do when your stoned. There is an article on how to smoke proof a dorm room so that may be of some assistance lol, guess I have a lot of experience 🙂
No. Your parents are going to come home, walk into the bathroom, and know immediately that you stayed home from school to smoke. Boy, are YOU in trouble.
Smokers usually can’t smell smoke but non-smokers can ALWAYS smell it! Good luck though!
Smoking out of an apple bong in a bathroom with no windows?
I’ve got a steamy shower going and candles lit. I have a paper towel roll stuffed with paper towels sprayed in air freshener. I made an apple bong to smoke out of.The vents are covered. I only have enough weed for like two hits. Will this work? Will it smell?
I need this. I’m literally at the point of kill myself or get high. Smoking weed is harmless, and a lot better than what I usually do.

You live at home with parents that love you. They provide you with food, shelter and clothing. They give you transportation when you need it and medical care as well. One of the things that they require is that you don’t use drugs.
Once you are out on your own and in NO way financially dependent on your parents in ANY way, then and only then can you make the decision as to whether or not to use drugs.
Perhaps by then you will be mature enough to make the right decision.
I smoke out of an apple all the time, you can just poke a pair holes or get inventive and make a small apple bong. I can not say its any extraordinary than a pitcher pipe in the function or if its healthier. I believe you will have to smooth any pipe usually and change the apple as soon as it begins to brown. I repeatedly get little tips of apple taste or smell but otherwise its the equal as a average pipe. Why smoke something soiled, do it correct. I your going to smoke weed, get a vaporizer. You would believe you do not want one considering that you’re going to give up. But i have been pronouncing that for years and certainly not bought one however nonetheless smoke. I eventually purchased one and love smoking out of it. A lot cleaner to the point I cough at the least sixty five% not up to earlier than. Do not smoke the already burned brown weed as soon as its carried out, all of the THC is undoubtedly long gone.
Getting rid of cigarette smell in the bathroom?
My father is a constant smoker. He used to smoke all over our apartments, but we’ve been able to ask him to smoke outside at almost every time, except in the bathroom. It’s just that he needs to have a cigarette whenever he needs to use the bathroom for other purposes other than wash his face or pee.
We’ve tried everything. we wash the walls, we run the vents, and we use odor control. perfume, Febreze, even a Glade electric air freshener (whose cartidge wicks are always clogged up by ash after a week, blocking the scent).
It’s highly unlikely that my dad will give up smoking soon, so while he’s still smoking, how can we lessen or get rid of the horrid cigarette smell in the bathroom?

Is there a window you could open or recommend that he have open while he smokes in there?
And what about a fan? If there is a ceiling fan, that usually works if you leave it on a good while after he is done in there.
Have you tried Oust? Some of those sprays you mention don’t absorb smells, they cover them up. I hear Oust absorbs the smell.
My boyfriend smoked in the bathroom too and to get the smell gone he would have the window open with a fan in the window facing OUT the window. So it would be sucking the smoke OUT the window. It still stunk a little but when he left that fan on as well as the ceiling fan to suck air outside also. it smelled better pretty fast. No residual. Although I had to keep the towels and other linens elsewhere because I swear giving a guest a «clean» towel that smells like smoke is really embarrassing.
Also you could try incense. They also mask the smell but combine with the smoke to make it more tolerable. Kind of like making your own incense. There’s some really potent/fragrant ones that do well if you can tolerate the smell. (They make me sneeze but they do the trick.)
Also there’s wall scrubs, but that’s kind of impractical. You could also spray bleach.
Oh speaking of bleach, Lysol makes a foaming cleanser that works AWESOME for just this problem, now that I think about it. It’s a spray can, sprays foam, so it doesn’t drip all over the place. and you can just wipe off the foam after a few seconds and it cleans the surface and leaves it with a fresh citrus scent.
Why won’t he just smoke outside, good lord man. That’s so not nice. But good luck to you though! At least he’s staying in one room and not contaminating the whole house though right? I guess it could be worse.
Hopefully some of these tips can help ya.
Oh and if you have tile in the bathroom..on the floor..awesome. Keep carpets out of there, because they’ll absorb the smell. And like I mentioned before about the towels. maybe keep minimal amount of linens in there because they absorb the stink. And again, the Lysol foaming cleaner can really work EVERYwhere, tiles walls sink toilet tub. And if you don’t have a glass door on the shower it works great there too. If not, rotate between shower curtains if you can. And plastic louvers absorb smells also and get dirty really fast so either you can keep them and clean them constantly (I used to hang them in the bathtub off a rod and scrub and then hose them down with the shower neck) Or. if you have privacy glass, lose the blinds all together or opt for a simple (lightweight!) curtain that you can rotate between washings.
Again minimal things in the bathroom. Liquid soap better than bar soap (will absorb), and no toilet seat cover either.
Or ask him to quit. I know it’s hard. Boyfriend has tried and tried, but he’s cutting back. Maybe dad could cut back a tad and work from there.
My dad used to smoke outside. He swore we didn’t know either, and would lean over a fence in the yard and blow his smoke. Yeah, like we didn’t see the huge puff of smoke come from his face lol
Oh yeah and there’s odor absorbers you can get from any drug store if you don’t want to concoct your own (Coffee grounds, 50/50 Vinegar/wanter, Baking Soda), as well as standing air fresheners. (Have you seen those cone looking ones that you open the top? It’s adjustable and you can open it as small or large as you’d like and it just smells up the whole room. Pretty nice. And when it gets to be too much you can close it down a bit. It’s like a candle with no fire kind of.)
You didn’t say your age. but you’re obviously older than what is it 12 or 13 to be participating on Yahoo! Answers. Are you still cute/young enough to nab the pack from him, fill it up with water, and run away and then bat your eyes and play innocent when he catches up? 🙂 I used to do that lol My dad could never get mad. He’d go buy another one and I’d do it again with my sis. Then again that was about 20 years ago when cigarettes probably cost about two dollars or something lol
