Sony RAW Driver is a useful addon for Windows which enables owners of many of Sony’s Cybershot, Alpha and NEX cameras to view photos, thumbnails and metadata in Windows Explorer and Windows Gallery.
After installing the Sony RAW Driver, Windows will be able to effortlessly preview RAW images taken by a Sony Alpha or Cybershot camera without any bells and whistles or additional software installed.
Having the Sony RAW Driver installed is perfect for users who are just getting their feet wet with a mid-range or high-end Sony camera, especially if you just want to be able to view the thumbnails of photographs in Windows Explorer.
The app doesn’t do much more than extend support in Windows for images and certainly does not take over any functionality that an image editing suite can do.
