sony walkman player not being read by my windows 10 64 bit computer
my windows 10-64 bit computer is not reading my sony Walkman player. i see where this problem is listed for windows 7, but not for windows 10. will the windows 7 solution work as well for the windows 10?

Those steps should work. if not, Please try these options one by one and check after each option
Option 1: Reboot
Simple reboot may fix the issue
Option 2: Check in other USB ports
Put the device in different USB ports to rule out USB port at fault
Option 3: Detach all USB devices
Put only this USB device
Option 5: Update driver for unknown device
Windows Key+X
Click Device Manager
See if something is shown up as Unknown Device or with Yellow exclamation marks
Right-click on Unknown Device, click on Properties, then the Driver tab and then click Update Driver
If above doesn’t work, right click and select Uninstall
Reboot your Computer to install driver automatically
Option 6: Update driver from manufacturer’s website
Go to the website of the computer’s manufacturer
See if some driver is released for your model and OS
If yes, download that
In Option 1, you click Update Driver Software, in place of this, click Uninstall
Install the downloaded driver
Restart your computer
Option 7: Fix USB Root Hub
Windows Key+X
Click Device Manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers
Right-click USB Root Hub option and click Properties
Go to Power Management tab and uncheck the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Click OK.
If you have more than one USB Root Hub, repeat this step for all
Option 8: Update / Reinstall Generic USB Hub
Windows Key+X
Click Device Manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers
Right click on USB Hub
Select Update Driver Software
Browse my computer for driver software
Click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
From the list, select Generic USB Hub
Next and follow onscreen instructions
Reboot your Computer
If problem not solved, right-click USB Hub of your USB drive and select Uninstall
Reboot your Computer to install driver automatically
Option 9: Change Power Supply
Type Power Options in Windows Start Search Box
Click Power Options
Click Choose what the power button does
Click Change settings that are currently unavailable
Uncheck Turn on fast startup and press Save changes
Restart the computer
Option 10: Change the USB Selective Suspend Settings
Type Power Options in Windows Start Search Box
Click Power Options
Click Change plan settings
Click Change advanced power settings
Expand USB settings and USB selective suspend settings
Disable both On battery and Plugged in settings
Click Apply and OK
