Windows 10 system freezes randomly after fall Creators Update installed.
Lately, my HP desktop running Windows 10 has run into the problem of freezing or lock up randomly. This has happened since my Windows 10 has installed the fall Creators Update weeks ago. This fall Creators Update seems to bring up a few problems for my computer at the same. So now, I have to do a hard shut down(press the button) of my computer and restart it again when the system freezes every time. Will this kind press button shut down of the computer damage my computer system ? Does anyone know a way to reactivate or unfreeze my computer without do a hard shut down or a hard restart of the computer ? Does anyone also encountered this problem since Creators Update installed ? Does any one know how to fix the system freezing problem ? Help needed.

A system freeze is usually caused by compatibility issues. We suggest checking if the device is compatible with Windows 10 Fall Creators update. If the device is compatible, you may try to start computer in safe mode. This will start Windows using a limited set of files and drivers. This is performed to check if device drivers aren’t causing the issue.
Feel free to post back should you need further assistance.

We appreciate your response. It wouldn’t be a problem if the earlier Creators Update isn’t installed on your computer. However, we would like to know if you have already tried starting your device in safe mode. If the issue persists in safe mode, we suggest that you run the Hardware troubleshooter in normal boot.
Feel free to update us on the result.

I have the same problem. Since the Fall creator update, my computer freezes.
I had no problem before and I ran every version of windows (November, anniversary, creator and now fall).
The hardware is not a problem, my computer is not old and with the latest drivers installed.
If I reboot the computer once or twice the problem disappear.
When the computer freezes, I can still write this text or have a normal voice conversation on skype.
Pls, don’t BS us with the hardware troubleshooter. The problem is clearly caused by the fall update.
Ps: my config: i7 7700k sabertooth; RX 480 sapphire; 16go RAM. Should be good to run Windows 10 .

I did not update the driver before or after the fall update.
But yesterday I updated it to see if it solved the problem but it has not.

Good luck getting them to care. My Gateway NV57H has been experiencing this issue since the first creators update. A quick search on the forums showed users experiencing the same issues, with a bunch of user suggestions like killing the superfetch service, etc. All solutions only fixed the issue temporarily. My computer often freezes when I leave it on and it goes to sleep. But the odd time it will freeze while I’m using it and I have to do a hard reset. My only solution now is to have the computer shut down when I close the lid / use the power button, which seems to keep it in good working order for now. But I definitely miss the days where I could leave my computer on and not have to worry about it.
Just as a quick note to MS (not like they will give two thirds of a crap but I’ll throw it in anyways), I’ve exhausted the troubleshooting of rebooting into safe mode. The issue persists, and when the hardware troubleshooter is run, it finds no issues. An offline scan of the hard drive and ram (using boot tools) shows no signs of problems. I’ve had microsoft techs remotely connect to check if there are any issues, and they have found none.
At this point I’ve given up on trying to make this thing work. Best thing I can do is buy a laptop that was designed to run windows 10 and hope any future updates don’t screw everything up. I’d like to say I have complete faith, but after the windows phone fiasco (just traded my Lumia 640 XL in for an android phone because they no longer plan to release updates for it) I can’t really trust them to make decisions based on what the users want.
One thing I’m looking at for causes for this, is maybe an issue is caused by computers that have 2 video cards (intel integrated video for handling the desktop, and nvidia or AMD graphics hardware for when games are launched) but who knows if thats even an issue. I do wish you good luck finding a solution however.

Windows 10 Randomly Hangs/Freezing
I seem to be having an issue with random hangs/freezing. as the title suggests. I for the life of me cant figure out what this problem is, if its a hardware issue / software issue / driver issue or anything else. The problem is that the computer will randomly freeze without any warning these freezes started somewhere around late November 2017, I assume with one of the Windows updates. The actual freezes also vary. sometimes they last only 10 seconds to a minute and I can still move my mouse but not interact with any programs, other times the computer completely freezes and I am forced to do a hard boot on my computer. This makes doing any sort of assignment for school or playing any sort of game an issue. As I said before the freezes are very random. I can sit down on my desktop for over 5 hours and not have a single freeze, other times the computer will freeze shortly after I start the computer.
An important side note is that the computer has never had a problem starting up or loading startup processes. The freezes also occur with any/all programs including Google Chrome and Gaming applications. really anything.
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor 3.50 GHz
System type: 64-bit Operating System
Storage: SanDisk 480GB SATA III (NTFS, also what the OS is loaded on) and Toshiba 1TB Hardrive
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970
(I’m not sure what else to post that would be important please let me know if there is anything else that would be helpful to know)
In terms of solutions I have tried quite a few, I have already done a clean boot of Windows 10, also tried rolling back to Windows 7, however neither of these fixes seemed to solve my issue. I have also changed quite a few settings in my Power settings, as well as optimizing my Virtual Memory, I have also done a clean reboot of my Nvidia Graphics Card driver. There are many other «fixes» that google/youtube has suggested that I have tried, and I cannot remeber them all, however none of those have worked as well.
-Any advice/suggestions/help is greatly appreciated, and Thank you for taking the time to read all of this
