Pressure Touch cool but..

I had the sketches app on my phone for a while and using the pro version has definitely been a help. So when I saw that it was available to mac as well, I snatched it up. I think the mac version preforms beautifully however I do have a suggestion to make. Although there are plenty of styles with size options for each tool, I think a great feature would be to have the same various styles but you can choose the width you want. Maybe I’m not using the app correctly but I mean adjusting between maybe size 5 for the biggest and size .01 for the smallest width. Maybe the sizes could be larger and smaller. All I know is that this option is available on the phone/tablet version but not for mac. Other than that I think the app was designed beautifully. Can’t wait to continue using it.

so the reason i would rate this app a 4 star is because it is fun and all but it doesnt say what is a pencil what is a marker or pen you just have to figure it out yourself. Not oly that but once you have accidentily or puposely exit the color pelette out it wont tell you how to bring it back in. i do like this app though because it give a lot of different pens and pencils and stencils too. so i rated this a 4 star!

Intuitive, easy to use, more affordable than procreate

I’ve been using Corel Painter and some other programs that have cost a fortune. Although they are rich in features and brushes, there is definitly a learning curve. I was wanting to illustrate kids books, and going from traditional materials to digital has been extremely difficult for me. This is the first program that has acted as a succesful «bridge» into transitioning into media. I bought the pro version, and it’s worth every penny. It has enough media to do what I need it to do. The only feedback I would have is to release more brushes, or to have the option to buy additional brush packs. 🙂

Sketches Pro? It’s just like the Tayasui Sketches app we’re so enamored with… except it comes with layers, extra tools, and all sorts of expert features. If you’re a serious artist—or a longtime doodler like us—you can’t do better than Tayasui.

Highly recommend, but having a non technical problem with the update.

I LOVE Sketches and I have made a lot of art with it. I love the simplicity and neatness of this app. It make mediocre artists-like myself-able to use it without feeling intimidated. Unlike Procreate, it is easy to figure out and it will not take long before you get the hang of it. I would recommend this app to anyone-especially the pro version. The additional layers themselves are worth the price. But so are the color dropper, the pick between color options and the new tools.

Now for me to complain, briefly:
I was in the middle of a drawing when the app crashed-which has been happening VERY regularly-so I decided to update the app. When I returned I found out that my favorite tool had been changed. The pencil tool. (Now called “pastel tool”.) I used to love using it for line art, but now that the new versions of the “pastel tool” have come out, I hate using it. The texture of it is weird, and even through adjustments, I cannot get the texture or size to match up to the one you replaced. I am not able to finish my drawing, and I am so upset. If anyone on the Sketches team could fix this, I would be so great full. Sketches deserves 5 stars, but until this problem has been fixed I will not be able to give it what it deserves.

Videos Crashing App

Feb. 13, 2019 Thanks to the developers for providing the tutorials. Only problem I’m having is that as soon as one of the tutorials is over — Bam! The app crashes. I watched around three videos, and the app crashed each time one was over. I really want to watch them all. But I know it will be fixed, so I’m not too worried. Now it’s time to try out the app since it’s Been updated. I love it. Thanks again. Previous review I gave was last year, and it follows here:

Feb. 04, 2018 I deleted my old review and now I am giving a new one. I enjoy using the app because I like the way the results look. I have no bones to pick with any of the developers. I think that they created a beautiful app that is easy to use. Now for the negative parts. 1. The save feature messes up and I lose my work at times, but not always. 2. The automatic save produces blank photos before the actual photos. 3. The app does strange things at times for some odd reason. Well, I have no idea why this app is so unpredictable. I wish that it were more stable. I know that the developers do updates and bug fixes. But as much as things change, they seem to stay pretty much the same. In conclusion: I love the app, I just wish it worked better. Sorry 4 Ever.
