Hi Mihir, thanks for your comment. The free version of our software will let you recover up to 4 records at a time, so it’s possible to pull the data out with the free version. but will be easier and quicker with the paid version.

Yes, you can transfer the data to your Android device, although how you do so depends on the type of data you want to transfers. Do check out our how-to on importing to Android.

Ah! I have it working. Contacts weren’t working after I copied/overwrote them (via ssh) back onto the phone. Finally it occurred to me to try turning off/on the phone. Everything’s there.

Again — Best thread on the internet and I’m so saving this every which way and upside down!

OK, I’ve been digging around my iPhones since launch but got stupid yesterday and ‘set up as a new phone’ nuking my contacts.

Went back in Time Machine to retrieve some files, did iPhone Extractor, and SSH’d SMS, call history, etc. back into phone. BUT Contacts don’t work. I can’t get them back for anything. I went to AddressBook’s sqlitedb files and dragged those in. Nothing there.

When I run the above SQLite program, I see all the contacts. So they are in my computer ‘somehow’.
I’m not clear on what running SQLite does other than confirm to me my contacts are in that file. But how do I then get them into my phone?

I copy (ssh) the AddressBook folder into the phone but nothings there. Yet SQLite says they are when executing the query stated above. .

Hey, i am a bit slow with stuff like this. so can you tell me will this application be able to find lost notes which never made it to the computer. they were lost in the process of trying to synch??

Hi Jayatma: it’ll find anything that was on the device which got backed up to your PC or Mac (whether or not a sync was completed). The free edition will show you what’s in your backups, so there’s no harm in trying. 🙂

Hi, Aidan — I really appreciate all the extra attention you gave to me to help me restore my files. We got about 90% of the data which is still a miracle. My assistant can enter the rest by hand. You were so patient with my operator errors. I know there has to be a way to get the rest with your program, but it’s way smarter than I am. Your attention to your customers is outstanding. I think a lot of other companies could learn from you! Look me up if you ever come to Alaska!

This software is extremely useful for recovering photos, voice mail, and videos and other data from an iPhone. While iTunes does not directly import photos voice mail, and or videos, the data is backed up onto a Mac or Windows when the phone is being «backed up», prior to an upgrade or during a sync. The files are stored in the «MobileSync» folder buried in the user folder on either platform. Each sync adds more data (incrementally) to the same folder. If problems occur during a sync, the files can become corrupt. This is why Apple creates a separate folder before each upgrade. All users should consider backing up their MobileSync folder periodically, and before major changes to their phone. With a clean, backed up MobileSync folder, Backup Extractor for iPhone can recover everything!

So, you’ve just bought iPhone Backup Extractor? Awesome! Let’s help you get running.

We’ve got a video that guides you through the process. We’ve changed the graphics a little since then, but the process is the same.

Activation is a straightforward process:

1. Check your inbox after buying

Once you’ve bought the software, you’ll automatically be sent a confirmation email with details of how to log in to your account. The email also has an attached receipt for your purchase.

If you don’t see the email, there could be two reasons:

• It’s landed in your spam. Check there. The subject will be something like «iPhone Backup Extractor payment receipt and instructions», and it’ll be from the «reincubate.com» domain.
• You paid with PayPal and your PayPal email address is not what you expect. When you pay with PayPal, the only contact details we get for you are what PayPal send us. Some users have older or incorrect email addresses on file with PayPal. If this was you, and you can’t access the email account they used, reach out to our support team and we’ll help.
• You paid with PayPal’s eCheque system. This is a strange system that PayPal uses which lets a customer pay us with a virtual check. However, the «check» doesn’t clear for two weeks, and it can be cancelled at any time in that period. Purchases made with eCheques don’t complete until the cheque has cleared, so we recommend avoiding them. We’ve included a screenshot at the bottom of this article to show you what the email looks like

2. Use the activation dialog in iPhone Backup Extractor

Once you’ve got Reincubate iPhone Backup Extractor installed, click the «Activate» button in the top right of the screen. That’ll let you enter your account details.

If you’re already activated, you won’t see an «Activate» message. Instead, it’ll say «License». You can click on that, choose «Deactivate», and then activate again. That should get you going.

Lost your activation key?

If you’ve already activated iPhone Backup Extractor but have lost your key, you can manage your license and generate a fresh key here.

Offline activation

iPhone Backup Extractor includes functionality for offline activation for customers with computers that aren’t regularly online. Whilst a reliable internet connection is required for iCloud functionality, it’s not a requirement for some parts of working with local backups.

There are two ways of getting an offline activation code:

1. From our support team (see the link at the bottom of this page).
2. From the license management page. In order to generate an offline activation key, you’ll need to provide your computer’s «Unique ID». You can find this in iPhone Backup Extractor, by clicking Activate → Offline activation and «Copy to clipboard» .

To activate iPhone Backup Extractor with an offline activation key, choose Activate → Offline activation and enter your name and activation key exactly as shown on the license management page.
