USB Thermal Receipt Printer

I am looking to buy https://www.amazon.com/Thermal-Receipt-Printing-Compatible-Commands/dp/B06XKRN726/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_pr. for my company instead of printing invoices on toner and then buying more toner when we are out for printing invoices is there a way to print a invoice on a receipt printer ?

In general, these printers are the same as normal printers, but instead of having «normal» page sizes they are obviously much smaller. If you can format your invoice for the printer it should work, but depending on the complexity of the invoice it could get mighty long. You also need to factor in the cost/availability of the thermal paper you’ll be using, and the quality of the print (if that even matters).

Honestly I would spend a little more money and get an epson/bixolon/star brand thermal printer.

Epsom tm88 is probably the best out there, imo. The Epsom tm-t20 are a little cheaper but still worth it.

That printer in your link seems to be a citizen style chassis.

Check on pricing for thermal rolls of paper. My market is around $50-60 for 50 rolls and I think they have about 200 feet on them. On vacation and on my phone so can’t confirm the footage.

You will need to be able to format the print job into codes for different text styles and what not. If it’s in «epson» interface you can find the codes for everything online.

Get one with a cutter.

Also look to a network connected option — this allows it to be setup on multiple computers and doesn’t have a dependency on a connected computer to be able to print.

In Greece there is a law that prohibits us from printing invoices onto thermal paper. Only receipts are allowed.

The reason is that the paper gets spoiled very easy. Leave it in the car during a hot day and boom you cant read it anymore..

Maybe you should check if you are allowed to do so before researching the appropriate printer.

A big +1 for Star printers. I have ten, and I haven’t had to repair one since I installed them damned near eight years ago now. The only printers I don’t hate.

Getting your invoice on one of them depends a bunch on what software you use to make invoices. Your provider of that has probably been asked the question already.
