II. Переведите вопросы и дайте на них письменные ответы, употребив герундий в функции: прямого дополнения, предложного дополнения, определения, обстоятельства.

IV. Перепишите и переведите предложения, употребив нужную форму герундия.

3. Глагол to interest не переводится «интересоваться». И вряд ли герундий здесь — определение.

Если говорить об английской версии, то вместо in spite of я бы использовал though. In spite of, видимо, использовано для герундия.
